there's an Ichiruki fan that replies on our other IchiHime fan said...

Here's what he said...

"This is the Proof for IchiRuki That Kubo-sensei HIMSELF made:

Thank you Rukia. Thanks to you, I think... the rain has stopped. (Ichigo, chapter 181).

The rain drags Black Sun down, but the rain dried by White Moon. (SOULs and VIBEs covers).

That's the kind of man you have been in my heart, Ichigo!!! (Rukia, chapter 196).

I remember now... the reason why... I wanted to save you so much. (Ichigo, chapter 181).

That's right, nothing else can change my world.
(Ichigo, volume 19).

The sun that locks heaven. & The moon that eclipses the night. (SOULs & VIBEs poems).

One boy. One shinigami. The accidental encounter. The story of Destiny Begins. (SOULs poem ).

Though times only moves one way, we can still relive "those days" in our minds. (Ch133, Memories in the Rain 2, "the nocturne").

Black Sun and White Moon:
The rain drags Black Sun down, but the rain dried by White Moon.
This has been used in the databooks and covers Ichigo and Rukia.

天を鎖す太陽
ten o tozasu taiyou
The sun that locks Heaven.
Oh, here's the sun again. I wondered if it was a foreshadow to Bleach ending, and how Ichigo would be the one that prevent Aizen to open the path to the King's realm. I guess we'll have to wait ^^

夜を削る月
yoru o hazuru tsuki
The moon that eclipses the night.
And there is the moon.

The sand and the gear:

In the SOULs and VIBEs databooks, Ichigo and Rukia described themselves as the sand and the gear(the rotator) respectively.

It was the first time that Kubo touched the subject of Destiny. It is a very strong image too, that he used with this gear and this sand. With those chapters, he meant that Ichigo and Rukia were destined to meet; that Rukia is and will always be the driving force behind Ichigo. When those chapters were released, I immediately thought how strongly they pointed towards IchiRuki. They are very similar, they show how lonely they both were, and how their meeting was arranged by Fate. They show that it's while they are together that they are the stronger. How Ichigo needs Rukia because she is the one who can give him power and be a driving force; and how Rukia needs Ichigo because he is the one she is destined to help and motivate. She is the only one who has that spot, the only one who can drive him like that, hence, the only one who can pass his walls. And that has been repeatedly told by Kubo.

More fluff stuff:

Yes. Oh, just fluff stuff anyway XD
And while I'm at it, isn't it strange that the first dance of Sodeno Shirayuki has a reference to the moon, and Ichigo's bankai is talking about reaching the moon [well... to slash it, or something like this, I admit, but it's still highly amusing to me XD].

Let's continue in the comparisons and other stuff XD I already said all of these but hey, a bit more can't be too much ^^

I wanted to flip through Memories in the Rain again. First, two important things that really go against IchiOri there.
The first thing being Inoue's poem; she wishes to be the rain (to connect Ichigo and his mother). However, at this moment, you know that it's not a tiny disconnect, but a huge misconception from Inoue's part. Of course, it's meant to be poetic, but she still wishes to be something Ichigo hates. How ironic. She pretends that she understands him a bit more, but still wants to be something he cannot stands.
The second is that chapter cover. I think (not quite sure though, don't quote me on that one), it's the only IchiOri chapter cover. However, it's her watching at him from afar, and he doesn't notice her at all; the title too is very direct: All One Way Sympathy. No matter how much she is concerned over Ichigo, she cannot reach him because there is no interaction, it's all her who gives and him who doesn't notice.

On the other hand, at the end of this very chapter, what do we have? Ichigo, falling in Rukia's arms, while facing her. And leading to one of the most romantic moments for the Japanese: having a guy resting on a girl's lap. It's so important that Kubo emphasize it and give it again on another angle, with Rukia all soft while thanking Ichigo under Kon's eyes; speaking of Kon, he does notice Rukia's softness, as shown in the panel, and it's like he's totally excluded from their interaction, even though Ichigo passed out.

Speaking of Ichigo falling in a girl's arms, here we are again, right after his fight against Byakuya. And what do we have? Inoue trying to catch him, but ending up being hurt (not badly though, this is a metaphore) because he didn't notice her and fell backward, bumping in her head. While this us a funny moment, this definitely reminds me that he fell in Rukia's arms while facing her and didn't bump into her at all, finishing with his head on her lap
If anything, it does resume their whole interactions; with Rukia, everything is very natural, and does have that romantic tension. With Inoue, she tries hard to catch him, but fails as Ichigo doesn't notice her and ends up wounding her (more her heart... how many times already?).

In the end, Rukia did make the rain stop (we didn't see it anymore since then); she was the one able to provide him the strength to go on and dry the rain, as said so well in VIBEs but the rain dried by White Moon. More than wanting to be close to Ichigo, she *is* close to him, she is able to be his strength and his motivation. She doesn't wish to be something he hates, no; she's the one who connects with his heart

Before people starts shouting things like : 'SS ARC IS A HISTORY!! SS ARC IS AN OLD STORY AND UNROMANTIC!! WE HAVE HM ARC YAAY'

Okay Lets make a comparison shall we?

The separations:

The first separation occurs right after Rukia protected Ichigo and prevented her brother to kill him off. And that’s something he perfectly knows; and the emotion in Rukia’s face gets him, as she is on the verge of crying and that’s the first time he sees her in such state. Her “You’re going to die anyway…” is such a plea to live and to not follow him that he understood, at that moment, that she was protecting him in exchange of her life. And of course, the heavy theme of the rain added up with the black page showing how his mind blew out at the idea of her dying for him.

The second separation is vastly different, as Ichigo is asleep and totally unaware that Inoue was going away, trying to protect them (in her head). She confesses sweetly, and then goes. This is a one-sided separation, as she thinks she’ll never see him again and he is well… sleeping.

Again, Kubo knows well his relationships, as Ichigo and Rukia’s departure was fully emotional for both characters. The rain, that implies Ichigo’s sadness, also played its part. With Inoue’s departure for Hueco Mundo, it’s again a one-sided emotion, as she is the one who confesses but he’s not even hearing it. It reflects how the relationships are working: Ichigo <---> Rukia and Ichigo <--- Inoue, in terms of sending and receiving (strength, emotions, etc).

The Reunion :

As there were two reunions for IchiRuki (the Bridge scene/'the white tower rocks'/ch.116 AND the reunion in the Soukyoku hills/'the deathberry returns) and only one so far for IchiOri, I didn’t know what one I should use, so I used both for IchiRuki XD

I’ll go straight to the point, as the whole scenes speak for themselves. Each time, in the IchiRuki reunions (and by reunions, I mean the rescuer and the rescued), there was a huge set up, with anticipation and double spreads. A tiny difference: in ch116, Ichigo is very tense and first needs to walk by her without watching her to talk to Hanatarou and ask him how he is… without caring about Ganju laying down there at his feet nor letting Hanatarou reply. And even when he says “I came to save you”, he still couldn’t look at Rukia in the eyes; but even like this, they had their moment to talk together, even though there were Hanatarou, Ganjuu, Byakuya and Ukitake during the first reunion, and nearly all the captains and vice-captains in ch151/152 XD

Meanwhile, if there was anticipation from the fans to see what the IchiOri’s reunion would be, it has probably been the most anti-climatic reunion ever. Ichigo is passed out and when he regains his consciousness, his face doesn’t even change. Worst, the first name that comes out is Nel. And right after, there is no IchiOri moment, as Grimmjow immediately intrudes and prevents them from discussing.

Kubo could never have been more clearer there: the IchiRuki reunions stay as grand and epic reunions in the readers’ minds (romantic even for a lot of people), while in the IchiOri’s reunion’s case, it’s something very casual, that will stay in the minds as something anti-climatic and anti-romantic.

Oh yes one point : in the SS arc it was Ichigo HIMSELF that approached Rukia, and in HM arc Orihime was BROUGHT by Grimmjaw to Ichigo's place....

Ichigo’s vows to save/protect:

It is interesting to note that when he vowed to save Rukia (I swear to my soul!!!) , he was so passionate and yet, nobody asked him to do so. And it was this vow that made Renji vow the same, since it was him remembering Ichigo doing so. Probably one of the most powerful moments in Bleach.

On the other hand, we have Ichigo vowing to protect Inoue the next time. It could have been very romantic, but this scene hadn’t had one romantic bit in it, for various reasons: the first one is that Inoue doesn’t see it as romantic. Second is that not only Rukia forced him to make to vow, but she also came and intrude, forcing him and acting very possessively in those frames. And that’s something that Inoue noticed; it even triggered her jealousy scene in ch199.

The two scenes are unexpectedly IchiRuki with a tiny bit of IchiOri for the second one. I still don’t get why people don’t get that Ichigo’s vow to Inoue wasn’t about IchiOri but about Ichigo alone and how Rukia was the one who understood that and made him make that vow for himself. Again, it’s Ichigo’s will to save Rukia that drew Renji and the IchiRuki relationship that was put in the light in the second one.

Rukia and Inoue cheering Ichigo up:

For information, I didn’t put Inoue’s last cheer for Ichigo because we can’t really compare the situations, as Rukia never saw Ichigo in Vizard form yet. So for now, I’ll only compare their cheer when Ichigo was down after Ulquiorra and Yammi’s attack.

Inoue tried to cheer up Ichigo by… being her usual self and telling him not to worry about her. Which utterly failed. She couldn’t reach him although she was trying to, because he had set up walls around him.

Walls that got very easily broken down by Rukia’s powerful speech. She didn’t wait and had him back in a matter of minutes, forced him to take action and that worked. I also put the little discussion they have in ch214, because Rukia is saying the exact same thing as Inoue earlier (it’s my own fault, don’t give me that look etc), but, unlike Inoue, she went straight to the point and grabbed Ichigo’s attention (“if it’s about that hollow inside of you, how about asking Urahara?”). She immediately understood that it was about that that he was moping around again.

That’s another difference in how the girls handle Ichigo and how he is responsive to them; Inoue tries to reach him with her usual kindness and that doesn’t quite work. On the other hand, Rukia goes to the point and if that doesn’t work, she changes her way with him, and grabs his attention by doing so. Ichigo is, of course, very responsive to Rukia’s ways oh handling him, because she never lets him down.

The nakama:

"Inoue is our friend" ("Eagle without wings"chapter) Now, that’s what I call something clear and straight to the point from Ichigo XD He doesn’t hesitate to say that Inoue is a friend because well, she is! And that’s all how he sees her.

With Rukia, though, that is something else… from her own hesitation to ask if they’re friends [(Aren't we Nakama?) from the chapter when she catches up with him in HM and defeat Ruganga], to his own, unsure reply (zoom in Ichigo's mouth and we cannot see his face when he said : 'ah'), this scene lacks the straightforwardness that the first one has.

Kubo’s intent is clear on that one; Ichigo is direct when he says that Inoue is his friend, because there is nothing on his mind that could suggest otherwise. Meanwhile, he’s very unsure about what Rukia is to him. She’s a friend, yes, but at the same time, she’s not tagged as a friend at all in his mind… so what is she? Something more than a friend, but that he can’t place quite well, as neither can Rukia place it about Ichigo.

Kubo has shown a very consistent way of depicting Ichigo and Rukia’s relationship on one hand, and Ichigo and Inoue’s on the other hand.

Fact is, if Inoue’s feelings are romantics, they are also as one-sided as you can get. She’s always trying to reach him and failing consistently (hell, even her last cheer was toned down by the fact that Ichigo bragged and then got hit by Grimmjow; I won’t even mention how he ignores her again after that, something that would never happen with Rukia).

Ichigo and Rukia’s relationship has, on the contrary, always been evolving, because she handled him very naturally (people often says violent but the results=Genki na Ichigo) and grabbed his attention without even trying. Why deny that there is something more than friendship between Ichigo and Rukia and insist that it’s so romantic between Ichigo and Inoue?

That kind of attitude baffles me, as it put totally down Kubo’s first intent, who insists so much on Ichigo and Rukia’s relationship. All their scenes are drawn with extra care and there is no IchiOri scene that hasn’t got their counterpart for IchiRuki in a better way (the confession scene aside).

Inoue may be head over heels for Ichigo, but he doesn’t see her; the only one who grabs his attention is Rukia, as Kubo shown it throughout 303 chapters of Bleach (already!). That is precisely because Inoue’s feelings are so intense as the Ichigo and Rukia’s relationship and interactions are that I believe that Kubo will give a resolution for those three.

and I think those are more reasonable reasons than: 'she is cuter! she's the right height! --> Love is NOT about physical dude...<--
they have SAME hair colour! --> for heaven sakes can't you spell 'WALNUT BROWN' and 'ORANGE' correctly?? <---

That's a friggin long post aint it?? Yeah I know Iam an IchiRukia maniac you don't have to remind me... [:"

Almost each fandom known to man has their own story, their own theories and points to make. This IchiRuki had some good points, but they are points that I have noticed myself, and it has not affected my love for IchiHime in any way.

It would be interesting to see one's reply to that, but it's pointless to argue. Kubo-sensei is the determining factor, not the fans.

I think.
Ichigo Held Orihime.s Hand in the Anime.
Not Rukias.
Ichigo Is Not Kaien.
And I will set Tite on fire I don't like his inconsistency!
