Berz, our guild Vice Captain, does. Sh sent me links to pdf's of the books so that I can eventually learn. She's also started a guild for girl gamers, though you can still join if you're a guy.

I've been playing in the same campaign for over four years with several smaller campaigns on the side. D&D is one of my cracks.

I played it once...if only the "web hands" thingy worked on the mages feet...and if I remembered that my bow had no arrows. Everything else from hight and reach would fit into a spider-man air sniper...sigh...oh well.

Havent played since...no place for it i guess..eh. For a game....it was nice. RPG roots if you will, no 20 second summoning AMV to watch...

D&D...is great. I do so wish I could meet more compitant DM's , because the joy of the game is lost on me when I have to DM. As far as character level goes, well I've never had to advance beyond level 20...there was never a need. By the time any of my characters reached that point...they needed to be retired. The character that sticks out in my mind the most was my elven mage, Leviathain. He was of a chaotic neutral alinement , and a pure mad man in every right. Though by the time I had gotten to a point that I may have a wish, was also the point I should have made him an NPC...I took into consideration his INT score, and formed a wish to make him unkillable...yet far from a god. Oh yes my INT rateing was 30 (after Ravenloft...that was a big help...and almost death on many a day)...What my point of this is really, is that I twisted yet didnt break a DM's boundries to do everything I wanted to do...but I always earned it first. So DM or not...if something works in his created relem of possibilty, then he has no right to say no.
...
......
.........
I miss D&D...if I could find someone near by to hold a steady game that wasn't power gaming...I would most certainly join.
D&D,EQ,Vampire,Palidium,Cyber Punk, and B.E.S.M anime roleplaying...now thats a way to waste some time domokun

..whats D&D sweatdrop

Dungeons and Dragons, a tabletop, paper and pencil type of game that's been going on for many moons now. At Geek.Kon 2009 (as well as at many other Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Gaming Conventions) we'll be having a "D&D for Beginners" game. I've never played it myself, but I've got friends who play campaigns from around 11pm to about 4am. It's that good. Bob, our Convention Chair, describes the game play as improvised story telling. You move your little figures across the map (although I don't think you need figures, thsu it's not exactly a miniatures game) while the Dungeon Master controls all the NPC's and villains.

A fun thing I remember from sitting in on a Beginners game, was the existence of "friendly fire," which, of course, means you can accidentally wound or even kill a fellow teammate or hero. This was especially easy as some of the n00bs attempted to go toe to toe with the monsters while their friends fired ice bombs onto them lol .

I believe they did make an MMO for it. Plus the new version, D&D 4.0, is said to be a lot like WoW:

They also offer a lot more miniatures for it.

I do! Me and my friends play every Sat. WE break the D&D stereotype: half of our players are female.
