One thing I love about making things is showing them off to people! So here is your oppurtunity to show off whatever it is you've made! I'm gonna start off my posting my own creation..... This is a picture of a latch hook dolphin rug I'm currently working on. It's not finished yet, but when I finish I'll post another pic. I'll also be posting pics of some cross stich pieces I did a while ago soon, so keep an eye out!

very cool! One of my friend's moms and his grandma as well were hookers, made some really nice rugs. His grandma actually had a shop where she sold her works, which was how she spent her retirement time.

oh wow! lol, "hookers" xd That sounds nice, I actually thought at one point "I wonder if I could run my own shop where I sell my cross stitching/latch hooking......" I love doing it! I'm actually also in the middle of cross stitching a fairy picture. I've only done quite small cross stitching pictures so far. I'd like to do a bigger one though. My boyfriend's doing one at the moment of a sun and a moon with a few constellations at the moment. He's struggling at the moment with it because he need to do quite a few French Knots for the constellation points. We have a French Knot diagram but it's quite confusing so I found some vids on Youtube.....he still needs more practice! I tried it and managed to do a few so I might help him. blaugh

I'm pretty sure it's one of those things that when you do it enough you get the hang of it. I say stick with it!

That's really cool! I've tried to latch hook in the past, finished a tigger rug and got 75% through a lighthouse project before I lost everything *tear* I think I might pick it back up again.

Gasp! That's actually really good. I've never tried cross stitching myself... is it difficult to learn?

Cross stitching is actually pretty easy to learn, the hard part is deciding which way you want your stiches to go when you're doing a picture. (for me anyway) You generally have to stitch like this: //// then go the other way so it makes a cross. My boyfriend's really good at keeping them going in the same direction but I'm hopeless! But I'm quite good at correcting mistakes! Because I spot them early on. Cross stitching and latch hooking is really all about counting. Once you know how to do a stitch or whatever is easy if you can count aswell! blaugh
@Firey Force. Cool, a Tigger rug! That's quite funny because after my dolphin one I was thinking about doing an Eeyore rug!

I did some cross stitching and latch hooking from patterns in the past. I had a lot of fun with them, but ended up losing things somewhere along the way. I don't think I ever finished any of those projects that I started. A couple of years ago, I made a sock monkey for my sister in-law. I had a ton of fun making that! The sock monkey: The monkey's outfit is just a modified premie onesie. I cut a hole in the back for the tail, and sort of button-holed it to prevent any fraying along the edges. (The thumbnail is click-to-enlarge. I forgot how huge that old image was when I uploaded it. xd )

I was gonna post this in cooking, but there's don't seem to be any "Look what I made!" threads, so I thought I'd put this picture with the rest of my creations.....what I love most about this cake is the fact that it was a total disaster, but it still turned out ok!
