Today I found out that two bands I love are going to be playing concerts, one in April, one in May, really close to where I live. Since music is basically my life-line, naturally, I'm going ballistic. I've only been to one concert, but as it was Porcupine Tree and they are seriously my favorite thing to listen to, I'm not complaining. That was in October, and it was absolutelyamazingohmygosh. I'm pretty sure it was the best day I've ever had in my entire life. They played some of my favorite songs, and the lead singer/guitarist had the funniest banter with the crowd. I was in the second row and if the stage hadn't been raised, I could have touched Steven Wilson's feet, probably. Of course, I didn't fit in with the rest of the audience -- here's me, a short little girl in overalls with bows in her hair and her father, and then there's the rest of the crowd, looking like they belong at a Metallica concert. xD Anyway. The two concerts I'm hoping to attend are the Mars Volta in April and Radiohead (I WOULD SERIOUSLY DIE) in May. The Mars Volta are awesome, and Radiohead is the one band that got me listening to good music. Through them, I found almost every band I listen to now. Not to mention I've listened to them obsessively for about five years now. Wish me luck guys, I have to go beg my parents. EDIT: I'm definitely going to go see Radiohead! ^___^/endrant Since I figured most people like music, here's a thread for discussing concerts! What concerts have you been to, or wanted to go to? Are there any coming up that you'd love to attend? Can Batty EVER make a short first post?

xD Long first post is long.
Anyway... I've been to a few.
My first was a panic at the disco concert. I was up in seats so far from the stage that I actually used my camera's zoom to watch it. I went to honda civic tour last year, and it was whoah amazing. I didn't fit in at either one xD
My most recent concert was on the Really Really Rediculously Good Looking tour (Cobra Starship, metro station,we the kings (xD I used to live in the same town in florida as them... bradenton ftw) the fourth band wasn't there though D: It was crowded and we were all yelling at the back of the crowd to back up, or they would cancel the rest of the concert. But it was fun. At the end of it, we were screaming for them to come back out, and they did and lots of people left cause they thought it was the end so I got REEEEALLY close to the stage. And one of the band members shook his 'magic a**' for us... It was amazing. Our line buddies were great too. they also became our crowd buddies for a bit, but we got sepperated. In the line we were singing the lyrics to all of the songs (everyone in front of us was like "SHUDDDUP!" Lame people...) while we froze our buts off... but seeing Gabe walk out of the venue made it better. XD I got 3 our of 4 of the members of we the kings to sign a poster... and they gave nicknames to each show on the tour... we were saint lunatics
I also went to a few concerts of a local band... I love them to death xp
So... I really want to go to warped tour this year. Some great bands on there biggrin

I've really only been to one concert... Garth Brooks. And I was like 5... sweatdrop My mother wanted to go and Dad won a contest to get the tickets. I was just kinda dragged into it, though it wasn't too bad. Well, I have been to one more... kinda. At this lock-in near my school they had a local Christian band there. They were pretty good, too...
Good God, I want so badly to go to the Really Really Ridiculously Good Looking Tour's stop at the beginning of next month. 16 dollar tickets!!!!!!!!! Too bad I don't know if I can even go yet... Dad is being slow and the way he was talking... well, I don't know. I think I need to remind him again.
No, Batty, you might not be able to create a short first post, but when can I ever make a short regular post?

I've lost count of all the bands I've seen now. D:
But I can remember that I'm seeing Reuben, my favourite band, at the start of April! Looking forward to that a lot. They're always amazing live... and I should know, I've seen them enough times. razz

[~AIL~] isn't going, and the fact that I could carpool with her and her cousins might be more incentive to Dad. That... and it's down in Norfolk (I don't think they're sold out there yet, they weren't last time I checked) on a Sunday, so he probably wouldn't want me to be out a two hours or so away from home on a Sunday. He /is/ a teacher, so he'd want me to be in school the following Monday. I know [~AIL~] and her cousins want to go to that warped tour during the summer, but considering I'm a hermit in the summer and the fact that I'm kinda paranoid (last time she went to a concert, 2 days before that... my Mom died. I'd be so freaking scared for Dad, 'cause I'm insanely paranoid about coincidences like that happening again. I know. I'm weird.) But thanks a lot for posting the bands, now I want to go more! -stare- Hehe...

It was probably the coolest thing I ever saw. :'D The music's really different live. Not better or worse, just with a bit more of a kick. It was wonderful~ <33
Don't let the lack of a concert buddy keep you back! You can have tons of fun by yourself. 3nodding
A couple of my friends prefer going alone, especially if it's a band that nobody else in the group likes. It just means they can concentrate more on the music, and maybe meet some new people.

Knowing me, I'd meet the guy that would rape me after the concert...I have no sense of stranger danger. I will talk to anyone. Not to mention I'm still 16...

I guess it depends on where you live. ): We only have a small, 'gritty' hall where the more local bands play and a nice auditorium where the older folks go. There isn't a huge chance of getting in trouble at either, especially given how ridiculously overprotective some of the folks at the 'grittier' hall are.
Do you have any friends that you could bribe to go along? Who knows. You might convert them. ^^
