Some of our subsidiary institutions have grouped together to purchase a rather large island off the South African coast… we’ve been hearing reports that many Rex owner have let their pets run loose here, in order to live a move ‘natural’ lifestyle. Intrigued as to how such ancient animals would do in a totally new and self-sustaining environment, MVRR sent a team of researchers to document the Rex’s progress on the island.
The information they've gathered will be stored here.
[[About Packs]]
Unlike the ones that have formed in MVRR, the packs on Site B have been reported to be much larger. The largest pack at Mountain Valley is 9 members strong, while several Site B packs have been documented with up to 15 members.
These larger groups seem to be much more internally quarrelsome than the smaller packs. They are generally lead by one large female (not unlike the Rexes back at MVRR), and are made up of that females offspring, as well as the other member's offspring.
Knowing this, we estimate that its not unlikely that larger, super packs could exist, provided there are large numbers of surviving offspring.
[[About Social Interaction]]
The Rexes here seem to be a lot more aggressive towards each other than at MVRR- this is presumably so because they lack a consistent food supply.
However, it has also been noted that individual pack members are valued much more at Site B, and Rexes or more defensive of each other. This most likely stems from the fact that most members are offspring of another member, and that pack size is more important here.
