Limelight is a strong song, yes, but not rough. It's difficult for me to explain, but it should be played with strength, not force.
Watch your opening riff, for example. For the first couple notes you play smoothly, just as yours truly, and then for your first chord, you forcefully whack your strings. See how
I do it. No whacking necessary, smooth transition.
Basically, go easy on your guitar, and on the song. Oh, and your timing, too. Don't rush the silence.
As for your voice, well... just be a guitarist for now, 'kay? ;]
