The Goddess of Earth

PostPosted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 9:51 am

Two weekends ago, I went to a Quincinera [In hispanic cultures, a coming of age celebration for a 15 year old woman]. I had never been to one before, and besides the people I went with, I only knew about five other people there. We were sitting at a table in the back of the room and I looked around and got a very strong feeling that I had seen everything that was happening before. I looked to my friend and said "This has happened before" and knew that I had said that before as well. I felt a strong desire to look over my left shoulder because in that deja vu feeling I had, that's what I did the first time. So, I looked over my shoulder to see my friend talking to random people. I looked around in wonder, then the feeling left. It only last between one and two minutes, but I have never had a deja vu that was that strong/familiar before! Ever since then I have been trying to find the significance in why that specific moment in time felt so familiar and important. Any ideas?

The question I post to you is: What do you think deja vu is? Is it: 1) something that has happened in a past life, 2) the memory of a previous premonition, or 3) something completely different?

Out of curiosity, how are you so sure? I'm asking because I'm hoping your answer will help me to understand the significance of my own deja vu feeling.

I would have to agree. I've had the same happen, although most premonitions I've had have been in the waking world, and has not consciously happened for a while.
Just the other day I did that in fact, though I've done it enough that I get the feeling and immediately know I'd seen the premonition.
#2 I think is the best Explaination.

Deja vu can be number one or two. Although the usual answer is number two: the memory of a previous premonition, it is also possible that it's number one: something that has happened in a past life.

It is possible that you are in a place doing something that you've been and done before in a past life. It's a rare chance you'll do so, however it is still possible to.
Though in most cases, it's simply a premonition you had and then forgotten. I’ve done this as well, many times in fact.
Now from what you’ve described from your experience of deja vu, I would have to say, I personally feel it’s number two, not one or three.

I completly agree with Lady Yume in that Deja vu can be number one or two, but in most cases and in yours as well it is probably more likely number two.

I agree with Matron, who agrees with Yuma. lol
I believe it is either one or two, but in your case two. I have had many similar experiences lol
