I am rather addicted to Food Network, and I wanted to know:
Who are your favourite Food Network chefs? Why?

My favourites:
Paula Deen - Being a southern girl myself, I find that she has a special charm. I love that she genuinely loves food, and I love the way she makes me love food even more! When a recipe comes with a story of family history, as her recipes generally do, it makes the recipes more meaningful.
Alton Brown - I adore geeks and always will. Combining geekdom with food is ecstasy for me. He appreciates food for more than just taste, and he turns each recipe into a science experiment! Who wouldn't love that?
Giada De Laurentiis - When I first started watching her show, I didn't care for it. The weird sound effects and OCD Italian pronunciations were more than I could handle for a while. As her show started to mature, she grew on me. I love Italian food and Italian tradition. The focus on friends and family in every dish draws me in. Her recipes tend to be a bit pricey compared to what you see on the average Food Network shows, though.
Wolfgang Puck - This man learned things the hard way, but the struggle shaped him into the chef he is today. He has the fanciest recipes of anyone on Food Network, but he still has the way of keeping the food accessible and real. The way he embraces food as something to be celebrated is very endearing. Besides, I've always loved the name Wolfgang. blaugh

I don't usually watch the Food Network, but when I do I usually like watching Jamie Oliver. He has good ideas.

For Italian, Giada De Laurentiis.

Also like the Barefoot Contessa.

I'm not sure why, but I've always found the Barefoot Contessa to be a little bit creepy. I did see one episode where she was cooking for some "unknown guest" which turned out to be Mel Brooks. THAT was a good episode.

Her recipes usually seem fairly appealing, but I don't know... she's just creepy. redface

Really? She seems okay to me, not always very animated when she's cooking/preparing food. The foods she does create/make do look uber fabulous though. Maybe one day I shall learn to cook. haha haha.

Alton Brown: My flat-out all time favorite number one chef on Food Network. When I first started watching Food Network more often a few years ago, I didn't really have a select favorite, but he was one I was relatively interested in watching. But over the past few summers when I've had the time to watch Food Network more often, I've found his shows to be absolutely addictive. To me, I suppose it's a perfect balance between wit, chemistry and cooking. The two latter being some of my personal passions.
Paula Deen: Just something about her seems amazingly friendly. I guess she just reminds me so much of my own grandmother. Though the amount of butter she uses can be stomach-churning from time to time, I still love seeing the simple ways she can break down some more fancified (Haha, invented a word) recepies.

Uhmm... Little distracted at the moment.
I'll come back to this and edit my post later.

Tyler Florence is a hottie! or is that just my weakness for blond guys?

Alton Brown and Jamie Oliver.

It's nice to see that I'm not the only one disturbed my the Ina Garten. But I'm sorry to have missed the Mel Brooks episode... crying

Alton Brown - It's hard not to love a host who actually increases your familiarity with not just the hows but the whys of cooking.

Paula Deen - She's everything a Southern cooking show should be.

Wolfgang Puck - He takes such great things and makes them doable. It's impressive.

Jamie Oliver - Watching him make something from nothing has always impressed me.

Giada DeLaurentiis - Being Italian-blooded, there's something about Italian food that warms my being.
