Melody
The scale is a ladder, Each note a lowly rung. It leans upon the heavens, No note remains unsung.
The melody is leading, It takes me by the hand. We clamber up the ladder, Off to a distant land.
We stand there for a moment, The melody and I. Our hearts filled with laughter, We look down at the sky.
Then down we fly with gladness, Our arms spread out in fall. The notes rain down behind us, We answer when they call.
Onward, downward, we fall and Into the sea we plunge. We sink into the waves, That wash away life's grunge.
The little drops that splatter Are each a tiny note. In this ocean of music, Are we those in the boat?
The last two lines have major issues. =(

Hostis Humani Generis That's a very good poem. Reminds me of when I used to write poetry. I should dig some of those poems up. See if any of them were any good.
