Most people here probably hate them, I'm not going to lie, I like them.

But this topic, is mainly about their guitarist Ray Toro.
I have seen them live and about halfway into their concerts he does this really long series of guitar solos that are amazing!

My question for you is:

How would he fare in metal?
Any type of metal.
Do you think he's in the wrong band?

And please keep the flaming of the band to a minimum.

This should have gone in the non-Scandinavian bands subforum or spam forum even.

That Ray fellow isn't Scandinavian nor is he in a metal band. <******** My Chemical Romance, seriously.

I've seen them live also, but only because I bought tickets for my friend and was invited to go with.

Kimberly Goss isn't Scandinavian either but she's in a Scandinavian band.
And there are others.

I don't want to call it a guitar solo. It's a few sloppy, overused pentatonic things and a trying-to-be-oldschool riff- A.K.A. trying to be Slash.

In metal, he would perish.

{I used to like them. Since I started listening to decent music, I can't even think of My Chemical Romance as they just don't do it anymore. And in any subgenre of metal, he would be destroyed within a day.}

He could survive some kinds of metal, "my chemical romance" however... would take it up the dirt road by every metal musician in succession with water-proof sand-paper condoms.
