A little brunette girl say on a little lacy white sqaure of cloth - which was actually a doily to humans. A little plastic white picnic basket rested nest to her peacefully as Amy let out a content sigh. Yes. It was a lovely day. Lovely weather. Lovely breeze. Lovely scent of flowers wafting by. Yes, it was indeed a lovely day. Brushing back her silky hair, Amy let out a sweet giggle as she began digging through her picnic basket merrily.
Pulling out a little Barbie plate with cookies bits on it, Amy set it down by her lap as she began nibbling away at the sugary chunk of cookie. Lilac eyes peered ahead in a daydreamy manner as a large flower above her kept the sun out of Amy's eyes.
Lovely.
Oh yes.

And what is a perfect picnic if no one is there to wreck it?
The childish little male mouse with the dark grey fur was soaring happily through on his own. He glided through the air until a sudden gust of wind blew him off course. He tumbled and rolled in mid-air. He spun out of control and into tree that was before a nice clearing of flowers.
At the speed he was going at, his small figure easily cut through the leaves and branches of the tree. With a mess of yells of fright, he finally landed in a lovely clearing.
'Lovely.
oh yes.'

Amy looked up, a tad startled at the ball of... something she had seen flying through the air. Bird. No no no no. No feathered creature was going to ruin her picnic! Not at all. If the thing darerd to come close to her and peck at poor little Amy.. why, she'd chuck pebbles at it. But that wouldn't be very nice. Oh no. What if the bird waws hungry? And then got pebbles chucked at it... that would be rather unpleasant...
Looking up curiously, Amy watched the thing carefully from her doily.

"aw man, gotta practise that..." Shinji said to himself as he rubbed his head with his paw. He folded his wings in to try pick out the little buds and seeds out of his wings and hair. He didn't look up as he performed this cleaning process. But something had caught his eye from the middle of the clearing.
He blinked as he looked up see he was intruding on someone's picnic. "Oh uh. sorry for crashin' your party." He said as he scrambled to his feet to bow to the lady who was having a quaint little picnic for one.

All she did was stare. And stare. And stare. Amy scrambled around and hurried over to what she had mistaken as a bird. Marveling at the boy's wings, Amy looked up at him in awe.
"Coooooool~"
She sat infront of him quietly and continued to observe his magnificent wings. Oh, what it must be like to have the ability to fly.
"It must be amazing..."

He stared back at her like it was a contest. His mind fumbled as the girl ran over and stared even more. 'okay... creeeeeepy...' he thought to himself as she sat in front of him.
"uh... yes...?" He said softly to her as he folded his wings even though the seeds poked him in the back and under his feathers.

"It must be amazing to feel the wind through the hair and the sun against your fur as you soar through the clouds!" Amy cocked her head to one side in a childish manner and brushed back a stray lock of hair.
....Why does he look at my like I'm crazy...? .... Lets seeee... What did I dooooo~?
Stare. Right.
"Oh. Oh, I'm sorry for creeping you out like that~ Your wings are just so fantastic. Marvelous..." her sentence trailed off as she lost her train of thought. Snapping back to reality, she giggled softly, "Oops. Anyways, I'm Amy~"

He listened to her speak. "Oh these... They're nowhere near amazing..." He said softly, almost only to himself. "Shinji, nice to meet you Amy." He said softly and quickly, seeming to ignore her random outbursts of ranting about his wings. He couldn't understand why someone would appreciate his defect.
"why... why do you like them so much? they're so bothersome." He said looking down onto the ground. his tone was like a child's always wanting what he couldn't have but regretting it once it's in grasp...

The girl stared at him in horror, "WHAT? No no no no~ Your wings are magnificen. How can you say that about such a wonderful gift? You have what no one else has. You have the sky and and the earth. Silly boy~"
She giggled cheerfully and twisted a lock of hair around playfully, "I mean. In what way can wings be bothersome? I'm sure they get in the way occassionally... but but buuuut... say a kitty is chasing you. And you can just up and fly away~ Besides, there are others like me that envy your pretty pretty little wings..."
.... Oh. Nice to meet you. Wait.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Shinji~ I know. If you're not too busy, why don't you join me on my little picnic. I'm just dying to know what it's like to fly~"

"they're... different. but i guess they could save my life sometimes." Shinji said softly once more. His ears perked up as he was invited to have a picnic with such a cute girl. His tail flickered as as nodded happily. "Guess so. Thank you for having me over." He said with a grin. He was slightly happy to get off the topic of his wings, but he knew more questions were to arise later.

"Different good! Different is just another word for unique. To be 'normal' is to be drab, dull, run-of-the-mill, common..." Amy continued on with her long list of adjectives in a light British accent as she skipped back over to her doily cheerfully.
Plopping down on the pretty white doily, she suddenly said somewhat loudly, "Boring! Yes, being like everyone else is boring."
Would you like a cookie... Drat drat drat. I need to stop doing this!
"Would you like a cookie? I also brought some cheeesee... and cream.... and some tea.... oh and that fizzy stuff," she looked up at her new 'object' of interest. Fascinating.
"So!" Amy gave motioned for him to sit down by her, smiling cheerfully she continued to chatter on, "what brings you here today?"

Shinji waddled over towards the white Doily that she had placed on the ground. He crossed his legs and listened to her rant. He didn't mind her accent at all. it seemed pleasant to listen to.
"some cheese would be nice." he said with a smile on his face. "oh uh, i was just testing out my wings... But i lost control of myself and seemed to have fallen out of the sky." He paused...
"It feels like the sky doesn't want to accept me..."

Humming softly, she reached into the plastic basket and pulled out a piece of neatly cut cheese.
"Nonsense!" She almost pelted Shinji with the piece of cheese, but instead, she handed it to him gently, "Lies lies lies. You know, practice makes perfect. The sky is a loving place... I mean, why would it not want to accept you? I mean, it accepted the sun no? A big flaming ball of well... fire. It accepts birds. All kinds of the birds, the pleasantly sweet and pretty birds and even the filthy loud cackling birds. It accept bugs, digusting little writhing bugs. And it accepts humans and all other creatures, even though we breathe its air and... we pollute it to y'know. So, you lose." Amy stuck out her tongue at the boy and began to nibble on a piece of dried fruit.

He looked at the piece of cheese he was handed. He played with it in his paws as Amy proved him wrong. He took a nibblet of cheese from the piece. "hm... maybe you're right." he said, cheering up a little bit. "Maybe the sky will give me a second chance to redeem myself." He said with a chuckle before eating another bite of cheese.
