So...
I work for a company who is sponsoring the Canadian Juno Music Awards which are to take place in Calgary, Alberta in April! So because we are one of the sponsors, we are wanting to decorate as much as we can. So I thought up a quite fabulous idea of making a windchime design thing with Guitar Picks! I am still trying to figure it all out on how I'm going to do it, but have a pretty good idea how it should look.
Has anyone attempted something similar? If so, how did you do it and what did you use? Or... if you were to make something like this how would you do it?
I plan to make my own guitar picks out of old gift cards, credit cards, and debit cards if i can find enough.

I found a material that works even better for cutting out into the shape of guitar picks. That craft foamie stuff that kids use to make things out of! Much easier to cut out than plastic!! I have one pretty much done, will take a photo of it and post it later.

So... here are the pictures of 2 that i've finished. Am still thinking of adding some more to it but haven't quite figured out what...
What do you think is missing?

wow very cool! I like the second one best! I like the little silver charms you've added. Do they actually chime? lol! Hmm....I don't think anything is missing really.....(like I know anything about guitar pick windchimes! lol! rolleyes ) maybe you could add some different colours. One thing I love about guitar picks is the different colours and patterns that they come in. I would have probably used actual guitar picks, but then again I'm always making things harder for myself! blaugh

Actually, that's a good point...if it doesn't make noise, it wouldn't be a chime, I forget what they call the ones that don't.

yeah, well, it was mostly supposed to have the same concept as a wind chime but it doesn't really chime. i guess it would be more like a Baby Mobile? But anyway, I think I am going to try to add some more colours, it does need a little oomf! to brighten it up a bit. a little eye catcher. i didn't want to slave over hours of cutting out plastic or metal, so the foam was the best idea, they look pretty real as guitar picks, so that's good.

How about glitter? It's cheap and easy! blaugh
