We all know the shiping wars are harsh and the fans are mean, and I'm sure everyone has suffered from such things one way or another. So, I decided to create a little thread where we can talk about our experiences and get cheering-up and whatnot from like-minded fans. A support group, I guess.
So, what seems to be the problem?

Well, for one thing, I have a friend who claims that she doesn't have a fandom to support, but I know she's leaning against Zutara and towards Kataang. Keeping in mind that she said that she's undecided, I give her views that Zutara is awesome. But every time we come across it, she goes and tells me "No! It won't work!" And... add in a bad Zutara moment. (Namely the Western Air Temple conversation they shared at the end)

Maybe you should just avoid talking about Zutara with her. >.>

I get flamed sometimes for being a zutara shipper by all the kataangs... Come on ppl! she's like his big sister. Sure Zuko and Katara are going through a rough spot right now.... er... reeeally rough (katara let it go... he's HOT!!!) but still the're perfect for each other, and aang can't really be with katara, especially now that he's sorta into Toph who is totally more his age

Sure Zuko and Katara are going through a rough spot right now.... er... reeeally rough (katara let it go... he's HOT!!!) but still the're perfect for each other, and aang can't really be with katara, especially now that he's sorta into Toph who is totally more his age
Though, on the thing with Katara trusting him, it is understandable that she's mad. For as long as she's known him, Zuko has only been her enemy. And the one moment when she stopped thinking of him that way, he completely turned on her. However, I do think things will be improving between them soon. ^.^
And, umm, there hasn't really been anything in the show that proves Aang likes Toph, yet. *shot* Dx

Though, you're right. There is a chance of Taang becoming canon, and that would automatically cut Kataang out of the picture. We'll just have to cross our fingers and wait to see if it happens.

I had an argument with a guy friend over Zutara and Kataang. He made me watch Kataang AMVs on Youtube trying to convince me! Didn't help. Got in a huge argument but since then it has resolved itself.

What bothers me the most about Kataang is when people tell me that Katara and Aang have the perfect and ideal relationship. I literally have to bite my tongue to keep from reciting my psychology, sociology, and health classes to them.
P.s: Something interesting that I've realized. Every girl that I've met that is an older sister (especially if the younger sibling is a brother) can easily relate Kataang (save for the end) to how they treat their own siblings. Guess when the show was written Bryke didn't have any older sisters on staff, they would have told them that "No, Kataang doesn't work. It's gross."

I find the argueing with people about our ship can actually be fun and that it makes you feel accomplished by the end. ^_^
