There are many different kinds of Viking Metal. There's Viking Metal with folk influences, death, black, power metal influences... It's a very versatile sub-genre in the metal genre. Are you a fan of it, or is it not your thing? Who's your favorite Viking Metal band?
Please, no huge arguments in here whether a band is Viking or not (as seen in Metal forum blaugh )
Ensiferum is my favorite Viking Metal band. I also like Moonsorrow a lot, as well as other bands as well.

I've always had an interest in Viking Metal, but I've never found any bands I really like. Could you suggest so good V Metal with progressive/power metal influences?
I'm not sure if it's viking metal, but I kinda got into the band Ultima Thule.

I'll check them out.
If you want Viking with power, I'd say... maybe try Elvenking. It has power influences, but it's probably more folk metal. I honestly don't know of too many Viking Power Metal groups, and I can't think of any off the top of my head, as most have black/death influences as well, such as harsh vocals or something.
I dunno, I'll post some later if I come up with any.

I think this has been the center of my interest as far as metal in concerned. It's just epic, and well that's what I like most. Here's some bands that I like, maybe more heavily with folk influences for some but meh, it's all good.
Nomans Land Turisas Tyr Moonsorrow Falkenbach Einherjer Thronar Windir Arkona

Ooo, I really like Moonsorrow. I like how they can incorporate sounds that other bands couldn't. Turisas is awesome too.

Yeah, that's why I love Falkenbach so much. Their sound if just so epicly awesome like that, you should give them a listen if you don't know them. I love Turisas' newest album. It's a wonderful concept album.

Are you going to go to any shows of the Paganfest? I'm trying to go.

Yeah, totally. I freaked out when I saw all the bands touring the states, and when nearly had a heart attack when I found out they were stopping in my state (North Carolina).

I live in MD, but I'm trying to get a way to go to the one in VA. I reacted in the same way when I saw that. And the tickets at the club I'm wanting to go to are only $20. And the two US bands are really good too.
