At the upcoming New York Auto Show, Pontiac will debut a version of the Holden VE Ute. The ute is a combination of a G8 front clip, and the VE Ute's rear end. The vehicle will be offered with a 256 hp V6, or a 361 hp V8. The question is, will the US respond well to the ute, or are the days of the El Camino and Ranchero long gone?

wow nice truck. Why they decided to call it the ute is beyond me but it's still a nice car.

Cars with open tails (They're not trucks anymore than the El Camino was) are all called utes in Australia. They're quite popular over there.

yeah i know but i still called the El Camino a truck even though it was far from it. I had no clue they were called utes. Well i guess you learn something new every day. Any ways it's a really nice design i can't wait for it to come out.
