I still look to you as Bonny, so get used to me calling you that. Unless I come up with a nickname between now and the end of our role play. It's bound to change. I love giving friends nicknames. x3

Just like before, the skeletons are not going to be all big and fancy. Just copy and paste and answer. Send it to me in a PM so that the thread doesn't get all cluttered.

As I said, this will not be a fancy thread, unlike the one we had before where I had this huge POKEMON PALOOZA CINEMA thing going on. xD I'm too exhausted with college work to do something like that again. Plus, it's not like anyone but you and I are going to see this thing. x3 If you want some pretty pictures up so you can stare at them and receive inspiration from them, just ask. xDD

Bonny's

Name: Sophia Jeanette Parker
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Description: [ Sophia Parker ]
Personality: In a nutshell, Sophia is a very girly girl. She loves being in cities and shopping, and though she is a trainer on her way to the league, she does her best to be a part of any pokemon contests that towns may have. She's talkative, entusiastic, and gets excited easily--although her energy tends to die down drastically when she's bored or surrounded in silence. Sometimes she can be self-absorbed and spoiled because she grew up as an only child. Since she usually travels alone, Sophia has a tendency to talk to herself, or to her pokemon, a lot.

Bonded Dragon: Altaria

Plot

Those chosen by the Legendary Dragons become protector and Governor/ness of their land. But since this is the 21st century, this tradition is slowly dying. Who needs a person with an old dragon by their side to protect the cities and land when the world now has technology!

However. A sickness that started off seeming like the flu is now spreading throughout the cities and scientists and researchers are unable to find a cure. The Dragons recognize the disease for what it is. A dark being they locked away centuries ago must be returning. It's evil and has no real form and its mind sends out constant telepathic waves that mess with the human mind. The human body's first reaction to this dark waves is to get sick but it will gradually fester in their heads and leave them ... uh... either mad, insane, or dead, depending on how strong their immune systems are. xD

The dark being absorbs the despair and death of the humans to get stronger. Since our characters are bonded with their dragons, they are not effected.

With no help from the citizens since they're all getting sick, and the scientists and government won't listen 'cause they're just teens with big old dragons what do they know, it's up to them to find out where the dark thing is and destroy it once and for all. :3

It was uncommonly warm this autumn morning and the cool water flowing down from the top of the mountains was the perfect temptation for anyone who knew about it. Tiny rivers cascaded down through the crevices of the peaks, forming pools and lakes of crystal clear liquid. Piaku Peak, which was just a few hundred miles from the city, happened to have the purest and the cleanest water around. Pokemon from all over the mount took their journeys to the various watering places to enjoy the fresh liquor of life and bathe in its unpolluted entirety. One pool in particular was hosting a rather unique guest: a male human. He was completely stripped of his clothes and was sitting among the rocks on the edge of the pond, his body from the neck down completely immersed. He looked rather comfortable and at home in his luxuriously fresh bath. Strikingly white hair stuck to his wet face, and his bright red eyes peered out from under dripping bangs. To his left, on the shore of the small pond, lay some boxers and other various casual clothing, looking wrinkled and unkempt.

A low and exasperated growl sounded from a large dragon pokemon standing amid the trees behind him. It was slightly bigger than the average of its type and its scales glimmered like gold in the newly risen sun. Instead of hearing a growl, however, the bathing male heard a deep voice inside his head say, {It’s surprising how you can sit back and comfortably take an unneeded swim when only miles away cities are being plagued by a horrible sickness.}

The boy looked neither shocked nor frightened at the fact that he could hear the pokemon’s voice inside his head. He seemed quite used to it and simply gave a big smile while leaning back some more in the cool and refreshing water.

“Ah, lighten up will ya?” the boy grinned confidently and a little cockily, placing his hands behind his head in a leisurely manner. His grin widened as he closed his eyes, revealing straight white teeth that uncannily matched his hair. “It’s not a /plague/ like you say. I went to the hospital and checked in on what was going on, just like you asked me to. They say it’s a simple case of the flu. It spreads all over the place /all/ the time. All those people will be cured in no time.”

The dragon shook his head and took a step forward, a serious look on its face. {No,} it said. {I told you what it is. I recognize it from three millennia ago. This is no flu. No flu has ever spread so quickly and in such a broad area. I flew to the next city over and they’re suffering from the same thing. This is the work of something more sinister.}

The teenager did not bother opening his eyes, remaining in the same laid-back position as before. He gave a deep pitying sigh and shook his head. “You worry too much. Leave it to the doctors. They know what they’re doing. Besides… if you really believe that this is some evil being from three thousands years ago that you sealed away forever and has now somehow unsealed itself to reek havoc once again, why don’t you just join up with your dragon friends and seal it up again? Piece of cake.”

{You know as well as I that the Ancient Dragon Guardians are hard to come by these days. Most have given up their duties as sacred protectors because of the broken traditions. They do not find humans worthy enough to protect anymore, now that they have forgotten the Ancient Laws and rely more on themselves and their technology. To find another Dragon would be practically impossible. They are all in hiding, and the ones that are not… well the chances of one being near here are a zillion to one. It is up to us and us alone to stop this.} The dragon’s tail twitched agitatedly behind it as it spoke, finding its human companion very annoying and useless at this point in time.

“Fine. Fine. You win. I’ll help you beat this… Abbi-whatsit, if it means that much to you. I still think it’s just the flu or something, but whatever. Just let me enjoy my morning dip in peace, all right?” The white-haired teen took a stubborn deep breath and ducked his head under the water, causing himself to be completely submerged.

{All right, but just what if somebody sees you taking this little ‘dip’? The trails up this mountain are commonly used.} The Flygon cocked its head to the side in a comical manner and blinked at the submerged blur; all that was on the surface was a wig-like mass of white hair.

Coming back to the surface with a joyful gasp of air the male smiled. “Abdiel…! Relax! No one comes up Piaku Peak during autumn. It’s too hot to make the hike. They’d have to have a pretty good reason for it.”

{You came up for the simple excuse of taking a bath,} the pokemon retorted, a hint of bleeding sarcasm in his tone.

“Mm… and glad I did, my friend! It’s too hot out this morning and this cold water makes me feel great! I’m totally refreshed! You should hop in with me!” To emphasize his point the boy spun around and began to gently splash water in the direction of the dragon. He was laughing happily and was completely oblivious to the fact that he had now caused the dry clothes on the shore to become drenched in water.

Abdiel gave off a noise that sounded like a rapturous squawk and backed away a few steps, shaking the water off his face while doing so. {I’ll pass, Chase. Just don’t come crying to me when you scare off some people having a family hiking trip. Parents do not enjoy having their children exposed to such… state of undress.}

Chase simply laughed and leaned back, allowing his buoyancy to float him to the surface. His entire front side was exposed to the dazzling sky and he stuck his foot up in the air and wiggled his toes. “What? You don’t think they’d find me handsome? I find myself /very/ pretty,” he joked. “Besides. I already told you. /No one/ is going to be up here today. I have the /whole/ mountain to myself.”

The dragon rolled his eyes and turned away from the naked boy so as to look at something more interesting. A rock would be better than that. {Don’t come crying to me when you scar some innocent person with that nakedness of yours.}

Chase smiled and closed his eyes, consenting to having himself float on his back in the warm sun.

(Wow. When I put down that my character has a certain personality, and then I post for him/her, it completely changes from what I originally planned. xD Apparently Chase has become naïve, cocky, and completely boyish. Just what you would expect from a 19 year old. xD Lawlz. Anyways… This didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to. It’s a little vague on the perspective of the characters and leaves them open without any true personality. I’ll fix that in later posts. . . . Do you even have any idea what I’m saying? xD wink

“Aaah, what a perfect day for a hike!”

Sure it was unusually warm, a little off the course, and not to mention her only companion despised water—especially the hot steaminess of a hot spring—like the devil itself, but how was she to resist? Hours upon hours of travel each and every day for seven days a week had its toll on the young girl’s fragile body. At least, that’s what she managed to persuade her stubborn friend. ‘Her skin was sensitive to both travel and sun, and she was high in running the risk of getting a fatal disease or something,’ she says; and though Celeste knew full well that her master had one of the healthiest skin and highest immune systems in the world and should really be on a world-changing journey, she figured that a little rest for the hard-working girl was well-deserved. She was only seventeen, after all—so young and nonexistent compared to what the floating dragon has lived and seen.

But she definitely wasn’t expecting her master to drag her up onto a freaking mountain for rest. If anything, she should be down at the city taking a nap; or maybe that wasn’t a good idea, seeing as there were plagued people wandering everywhere. Maybe she really should just persuade the girl to forget her rest and help work on a way to save those people…

“Celeste? Celeste—helloooo?”

The blue dragon’s thoughts were interrupted by the whining of the Pokemon trainer. She was yards ahead of her, over on a hilltop, waving for her to pick up speed. Celeste didn’t even notice she had stopped. { I know you’re tired and everything, Sophia, but do you honestly think that the best way to heal up is by hiking up a mountain…? That’s certainly not what most trainers would do with supposedly fragile skin and extreme susceptibility for diseases… } she asked as she hovered by the curly-haired girl’s side, staring at her peculiarly. Though the image of a pokemon talking to its master in such a common fashion was out of this world, especially if it was through the mind, Sophia didn’t look at all surprised. If anything, she looked used to it—used to it enough that people often thought she was talking to herself when talking to the dragon.

“Oh, don’t be a poor sport, Celeste!” Sophia exclaimed, wrapping an arm around her friends’ neck. The Altaria huffed. The seventeen-year-old simply grinned. “Tell you what, next time we take a break, we can go cliff diving. You’d like that, right?”

She rolled her eyes. { How about we do something that won’t endanger your health? }

“Humph. It’s not like I’m not doing that already, being around those sick freaks all the time,” the teenager retorted stubbornly, crossing her arms with a pout. For the past couple weeks already she and Celeste have been trying to find the source of the strange disease that’s been striking neighboring towns all over the region, but to no avail. Sophia, at first, honestly didn’t believe that the diseases were a coincidence. People got sick all the time, right? Well, her thoughts changed when she visited five towns and cities in a row, only to find them all struck with the plague. She considered then that maybe there was a connection in all of this.

Celeste had warned her about the disease and, though Sophia was immune to the whole thing because she had ties with a Legendary Dragon, it was her responsibility to rid the world of this evil once and for all. For centuries and millennia ago this plague has been a reoccurring thing; dragons were scarce in the land, and if they were, they were powerless without a trusting human’s help. Celeste had no idea how many dragon and human partners were up and about at the moment, but what really mattered was that she persuaded Sophia of exactly what was happening—and that what was happening wasn’t a good thing.

“I don’t see why I have to do it all alone,” Sophia murmured, continuing her walk beside Celeste. “Aren’t there more of us out there to do it?”

{ It’s the duty of all dragon and human companions to stop this evil, Sophia. Don’t be selfish, } Celeste chided her like a mother to her child. Sometimes she thought that was the true relationship they held; Sophia was often too immature for her own good. It was her naïve nature that would get them both in trouble sooner or later… { Are you done with your hike yet? We still need to stock up on supplies, remember? We’re running low on potions. }

“Yeah, yeah, I remember. Don’t worry, there’s no rush—I just want to see the hot spring. After that, we’ll go back. Deal?” Her eyes were shining with excitement.

Celeste, on the other hand, sighed. She hated getting wet—which meant she hated hot springs. { Deal. No dipping though. }

The brunette skipped ahead with a quirk of her lips. “Of course I’m not bathing, silly—what idiot would be starch naked in public walking grounds?” she responded as if it were the most commonplace thing in the world. She skipped ahead, the hot spring in sight hidden behind a boulder.

Soundlessly, the Altaria floated after her with a shake of her head. { She must not know that this world is very abundant in idiots… } Suddenly her senses perked; as if a distant presence swept by her. Pausing momentarily, the dragon gazed around with wide eyes for the source. It was there—it was near, and it wasn’t very far away. She didn’t know it personally, but it was very familiar. A familiarity that persuaded her of the unexpected; but nonetheless, she knew exactly what it was.

A dragon—and it wasn’t alone.

There was a dragon and human combination somewhere around here. More cautiously now, Celeste wandered forward after the giddy Sophia, a careful eye out. It looked like it was coming from near the hot springs. Celeste made a noise that sounded like a guffaw. { Yes, there are a numerous amounts of idiots in this world… }

She waited three seconds. One, two, three—

Gaaaaahhh! What’re you—?! Oh my gosh—put some clothes on, you idiot!

If she could, Celeste would smirk.

Sophia fell back with a loud thump by the edge of the spring and buried her beat red face in her hands. She couldn’t believe what she just saw—it definitely wasn’t something for her premature eyes. “Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh…!” she murmured over and over again, traumatized.

[ Yeah, I know what you’re talking about. xD That’s kind of what I did here—only I did manage to leak some of Celeste’s view in there. ;3 Don’t worry about it though. ^ ^ ]

It wasn't necessarily the fact that he had been spotted naked by someone that made Chase nearly drown, it was simply because the shrilly voice that popped out of no where had scared the soul right out of him. Right when the newcomer shouted out, his body jumped and stiffened, causing his midriff to bend and sink.

Splashing and spluttering as he frantically tried to get to his feet, he turned to look at the source of his near-death. The blush on his cheeks that had already been forming now grew to alarming proportions and covered his whole face when he saw that the culprit was a girl. It was amazing how strikingly red his cheeks were on his pale skin, and they only stuck out more thanks to his white hair.

When he finally managed to stand upright he was too embarrassed to move; stuck in place by the mere shock and horror of having been confronted. His face featured quite a humorous look; mixed with bewilderment, as if he had no idea what had just happened; and alarm.

Recovering seconds later, he gave a tiny squeak and rushed out of the pond, managing to grab his soggy pile of clothes before charging behind a large oak. He pressed his back up against it and glanced sideways, eyes wide and cheeks still flaming.

"It's- it's your fault for coming up to the pond without making yourself known first!" he stammered and shouted, shame turning into annoyance and anger.

Abdiel had turned around in time to witness Chase make an even bigger scene of himself. It was amusing to watch as he nearly drowned, went frigid with horror, /and/ sprinted off to hide behind a tree. A 'I told you so' was in order but the dragon didn't have the heart to say it at the moment. Chase would only become more aggravated; best to leave it for another time.

Turning to face the newcomer with the same smug look on his face, Abdiel was surprised to see not only a person, but a familiar face as well.

{Celest,} he said casually, emitting his 'voice' to the other dragon. {It's been centuries since I saw you last. Good to know that you, unlike many others, have not abandoned the Traditions.} His head gave a small nod of acknowledgment. {And I see /you/,} he now turned his attention to Sophia who was currently on the ground with her head in her hands while muttering to herself, {have met my human companion; albeit this was not one of his most prepared moments...}

He turned his head in the direction of Chase, who was still hiding behind the tree.

This was the umpteenth time that the girl had to admit it, but Celeste was right—she shouldn’t have taken that hike. Now, not only was it not worth it, but she managed to get herself scarred for life. How could she live with herself now?! What would she say to her husband?! Thinking about these things while Sophia was in her horror-stricken state only made her panic and fret even more, as a blush the color of a very ripe tomato colored her light skin. Even when she heard the boy in the pond nearly drown himself from his own shock and scramble out of the water, she didn’t dare remove her hands from her face; she didn’t want to risk another trauma.

“Oh. My. Gosh. Celeste! Why didn’t you warn me?!” was the trainer’s aggravated reply as her arms flailed wildly, although she still kept her eyes glued shut. She heard the boy’s voice from farther away—far from the pond, somewhere among the trees; and she slowly opened her eyes and hopped to feet, turning her back to the tree that the victim was hiding behind.

Her thin arms crossed embarrassingly and firmly over her chest as a pout mixed with frustration and meekness crossed her lightened features. “This is a public area, idiot!” she shouted back, eyes closing out of irritation. “When people come up here they don’t expect to see boys floating on the pond exposing themselves to high heaven!” she exclaimed, palm sleeping her forehead. “Honestly, what is it with men these days?! Absolutely no honor!”

Her dragon companion, on the other hand, simply floated there snickering to herself. Celeste honestly didn’t expect Sophia to discover what she did, but boy was it amusing—probably the greatest highlight she’d had in a few centuries. Things like this always seemed to happen to the poor girl; and yet she never seemed to learn from her mistakes. Humans were so silly sometimes. { This is what happens when you don’t listen to me, Sophia, } the dragon shook her head solemnly. Although she, at first, regretted coming up this little path, she realized that it was, indeed worth it; and not only because of the scene that she was fortunate to witness.

She found another dragon and human duo.

With a nonchalant expression the dragon glanced to the Flygon, making a noise that sounded somewhat like a bird. { Ah, Abdiel. It’s been too long since our last meeting—a couple millennia, perhaps? I’m pleased to know that you’re doing well and following the Traditions, as well. Although you did manage to pick out an… interesting boy. } Her head cocked to the tree that the boy was hiding behind. { It’s interesting how their paths cross, isn’t it? }

Sophia was busy trying to concentrate on erasing the image that the ordeal had engraved on to her mind, so when a voice differing from Celeste’s broke into her head, she thought she was going insane. With a protected look on her face she spun towards the source, although it didn’t come from anywhere but herself. It was then she realized, after she cast a wayward glance to her dragon companion and saw that she was not alone, who it was. Momentarily her past troubles were replaced with confusion as her eyes set upon the Flygon.

“You’re a dragon too?” she inquired, pointing a finger at him. Her eyes widened and her body froze. If that was a dragon and he said that she’d already met his companion then… “He’s like me?” She almost gagged at the idea. Sophia sighed in exasperation. “You dragons sure have awkward choices in trainers…”
PostPosted: Wed Feb 20, 2008 11:25 am

Abdiel smiled and slowly shook his head. {You misunderstood me. When I said 'met' I merely meant that I need not introduce him really, since you have already seen him. I'm sure you would rather know /less/ of him so I won't bother giving you his name. He can do that himself once he's calmed down.}

A loud curse was heard from behind the tree as Chase finally realized that the clothes he had in his hands were soggy and dripping with water. It was apparent that he had not been paying any attention at all to the conversation going on between his dragon and the 'trespassers'.

{If you hadn't splashed me, that wouldn't have happened,} the dragon said, turning to look at the tree. {Besides, they were in need of a good washing. You've been wearing them for two days straight.}

Chase hastily put on his clothes with a frown and looked down at his sodden self. The redness in his face had faded slightly but it was still visible. How on earth was he supposed to know that some stupid girl was going to hike up the mountain today?

It took all the strength he had to come out from behind the tree and Chase found himself unable to look the girl in the eyes when he did, instead focusing on her cheek and forehead. Being visible once again, this time with clothes on, only reminded him of what she had seen moments before and made his blush redden more, which also added more fuel to his irritation. "Serves you right; sneaking up on somebody like that," was all he could say. However, being as laid back as he was, it was not easy for Chase to remain upset. His anger was slowly leaking away and taking its place was shame and embarrassment.

Abdiel gave an animal-like snort and blinked. The dragon had almost forgotten how little his companion knew about females and how to act towards them. It seemed that Chase took them to be a completely different specie altogether and that would explain why he wasn't showing off or trying to pick a fight. If Sophia had been a boy, this would be a completely different scenario.

{She didn't sneak up on you, Chase. I heard her coming from miles away. You just had your head in the water.} Abdiel chuckled.
