name (family affiliation) [sees Red as - seen by Red as]
Family
Violet Jackson (mother) [Son - Mother]
A single mother of two, her husband left before Green was born. Violet used to be an accountant for Silph, but was recently laid off. She's currently in the job market. A graduate of Earl's Pokemon Academy in the city that shares her name, Violet hails from the Fiore region, Ringtown, to be exact. After living in Saffron, she married Cyan Jackson, one of her workmates, and moved to Pallet. She now lives there with her daughter, Green. Violet is an excellent cook, and loves coming up with new dishes to feed her ever-starving children. Most of her simpler recipes have been drilled into Red's skull with a kitchen dicer, and she hopes he'll use them on his journey.
Green "Leaf" Jackson (sister) [Younger Brother - Baby Sister]
Red's sister, Green is a calm, collected person, and usually spends her time playing outside with her Bulbasaur, and Yellow Oak and his Pikachu. Someday, she hopes to go on an adventure like her older brother. Green attends Prof. Oak's training seminars, aiming to be a Trainer. She loves to cook, just like the rest of her family, and has given many of her recipes to Red for his journey.
Charmander Jackson (Starter Pokemon) [more than Best Friend - Best Friend]
Red's first Pokemon, Charmander has been together with him since before she can remember, having hatched only a few weeks before being given to Red. Although she's restricted by the barrier of being a Pokemon, and Red's Oblivious Ability, she has developed strong feelings for her Trainer, and usually spends her time daydreaming about them being together.
Family Friends
Professor Oak [Grandson - Mentor]
Prof. Oak is the world's leading expert on Pokemon. He can usually either be found in his Lab in Pallet Town, or in Goldenrod City for his radio talk show. Oak went to school together with Violet's father, Maroon. Oak became sort of a grandfatherly type figure to Red after his father left when he was about four. Whenever Red was around, Oak would try to make him feel at home, trying to replace the feelings he thought Red was missing.
Daisy Oak [Younger Brother - Older Sister]
The eldest of Prof. Oak's grandchildren, Daisy is a kind, gentle, and caring person. She is also held in high regard by the scientific community for her discoveries she has made alongside her grandfather. Whenever Red needed guidance, he'd come to her. Daisy always has the best advice, and is level-headed to boot. That's not saying she doesn't like getting back at her middle brother every once in a while, though....
Blue "Ocean" Oak [Rival - Friend]
The middle child, Red and Blue had been friends ever since they met as babies. But lately, Blue has been growing more distant and rival-like. This may be because Blue is pouring all his effort into becoming a Pokemon Researcher like his sister and grandfather. He has a Squirtle, who keeps his spirits high. Originally, Blue had planned on taking off on his Pokemon journey before Red, hoping to check in on him at regular intervals. However, since he has answered his calling to the pursuit of science, these plans have been put on hold indefinitely.
Yellow "Thunder" Oak [Older Brother - Friend]
Yellow is Prof. Oak's youngest grandchild. Yellow has always looked up to his older siblings. Currently in training to become a Pokemon Coordinator with his starter Pikachu, Yellow is a hyper, fiery youth, who usually gets into tons of mischief. Most of the time, Blue is too busy trying to become a Researcher that he can never be around Yellow. Because of this, Yellow has substituted Red in for Blue as his older brother. On normal days, he and Red would be seen pulling pranks around the neighborhood, followed by Green, who would be telling them everything was a bad idea.
Traveling Companions
Friends
Alisha Crallis [more than a Friend - Friend]
Alisha is from Cinnabar, where she was born. After hopping the S.S. Anne to Pallet, Prof. Oak gave her a Chinchou, a rare Johto Pokemon. Red and Alisha met on Route 2, where Alisha and her previous traveling partner, Elli, had just parted. After an episode with Red's backpack, the two became friends, and traveled together through Viridian Forest. If anything else, Alisha sure does like Red's cooking. It beats canned stuff any day, which she was probably planning on eating from the start. Alisha is cute, and very polite, but has a playful side that Red can tell she hasn't been able to fully express before. Maybe she'll find true happiness on the road to Indigo Plateau and beyond, but who can tell for sure?
Isabella "Izzy" Kyotaka [Hometown Friend - Hometown Friend]
Izzy was born in Pallet Town, just like Red. Although they've never been overly chummy, Red and Izzy occasionally saw each other around town at festivals, sporting events, and various other places. Her first Pokemon was a Growlithe, a rare Kanto Pokemon, given to her by Prof. Oak. Red and Izzy met in Viridian Forest, after Izzy smelled Red's cooking. Izzy agreed to join Red and Alisha for dinner, but when Red blew a whistle to call Alisha, a Pikachu with pink eyes stumbled out of the bushes. One of Izzy's Pokemon, Pika the Pikachu, helped Red capture it. She is somewhat mysterious, and usually isn't as quiet as she thinks she's being. She can also be a bit spontaneous and random at times. Izzy and Red are on good terms, thankfully.
Samantha "Sammy" Haruno [Knight in Shining Armor - Friend]
Sammy was originally the leader of the BCU, or Bug Catcher's Union, of Viridian Forest. However, after meeting, battling, and losing to Red, she began to crush on him, especially since he had helped find her missing items in return for being shown to the forest's exit. Afterward, Colton tried to usurp her position, and while he succeeded, Red saved Sammy, and now she is more in love with him than ever. She has now retired as a Bug Catcher, and is currently in the Johto Region, training with her Chikorita and Weedle.
Acquaintances
Aisumaru Namikaze [Hometown Acquaintance - Hometown Acquaintance]
Also born in Pallet Town, Aisumaru isn't particularly your outgoing guy. In fact. he likes to keep to himself as much as possible, though he has been know to open up to a select few people, which didn't work out so well for him. Over the years, Red gained a grudging admiration for the icy youth, mostly because of his calculating mind and knowledge of Pokémon diet, personality, and anatomy, while Red's knowledge mostly centered on battling techniques, moveset compatabilities, and type matchups. Aisumaru started with a Bulbasaur, and is, to Red's knowledge, currently traveling alone.
Nomaa Blitz [Hometown Acquaintance - More than an Acquaintance]
Red pretty much knows everyone in Pallet, no doubt due to the small size of the town. So it makes sense that he and Nomaa would at least know of each other. Nomaa's starter was a Charmander, just like Red, and that drew Red's attention. Nomaa is a normal teenage girl, but with an athletic build and a tomboyish personality. Deep down, almost too far to be unearthed, Red secretly admires her, mostly because she shares his same stubborn personality and isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in, even if it entails getting dirty.
Natsuko Hakubi [Hometown Acquaintance - Hometown Acquaintance]
Another of the cliché Pallet Town kids, Nat and Red never communicated at all. Red thought Nat was emo, and Nat ignored Red's existence altogether. Ambitious and slightly narcissistic, Nat tried to establish a rivalry between herself and Nomaa, however, it is currently one-sided. The two share many similarities, such as stubbornness and tomboyishness. Her starter Pokémon was a Squirtle, but unlike Blue's in that it is much more relaxed and not a workaholic.
Yue and Maya Taoalian [Hometown Acquaintance - Hometown Acquaintance]
A brother and sister duo from Pallet, Red and Green would often see them at Oak's lab, though their communication was never much more than a nod of acknowledgment or a friendly wave. Yue, the older brother, seemed to Red to be a bit bland, with his taste in monochromity. However, he does give off an aura of casual coolness. His attitude seems to match that of Green. Maya, the younger sister, is a happy, bubbly persona who loves to be the leader and take charge. She dresses much the same as her brother, but appears a bit brighter in comparison because of her blond hair. Her disposition mirrors Red's.
Kyle Silver [Acquaintance - Acquaintance]
An older boy hailing from New Bark Town in Johto, Kyle appeared randomly in Viridian Forest to give Red a mysterious egg, but was forced to leave before he could impart what was to hatch. He apparently trains in the Viridian Forest a lot, perhaps he something to do with the area? And who is the mysteriously popular Cindy? More questions for Red to ponder.
