Well, I've been having a few "teenage" problems, but whenever I bring it up I'm always told that good things are automatically going to come my way ("the one, etc) Personally I don't believe in it? I mean if people are meant to be, then why are most people unhappy with their partner? I don't get it, what do you guys think? EDIT: I didn't see the subforums, can someone move this? Please and thankyou

Some things are going to happen no matter what, or at least until a certian point. People are usually unhappy because they rush headfirst into it without ever really thinking about what they're getting themselves into.

Wow. This forum is dead!
Anyway. I don't believe in fate in the usual sense....even though I'm not sure what the usual sense is. Really, it seems to come down to how you like to think of the fundamental nature of the universe. Either you think it is organized with regard to fundamental principles (like Newtonianesque laws...or God) or you believe that there is some randomness in there.
Honestly, I don't think it ultimately changes anything. Perhaps there is randomness in the universe. Perhaps there isn't. I'm not a theoretical physicist so I wouldn't know. Does that make any sense at all? Or have I had too much too drink?

Eh...I'm not so sure about that one myself. I think you choose what kind of people you want to attract, and there are only so many people out there for you. Sure, there's one better than all the rest, but I don't call it fate. I think you have the power to attract the kind of person you want, whoever and wherever he is, and it's you who sends out subconscious messages to attract him. I mean, truth be told, there's really not just one person for you, and that's why I don't acknowledge that it's fate.

I was surprised as well, thought this forum had croaked.
As far as fate goes, yes s**t happens. There are some amazingly good people in this world that extremely bad things happen to, and vice versa. But there's nothing a person can do to prevent the bad things, but once it happens they can go about fixing it.
Whatever it is, the only true way to live a HAPPY but more importantly to feel self worth and beat all that fate and destiny stuff is honest HARD WORK. work for whatever it is you want in life and if you give it everything you got in the end you'll get it, just don't stop trying.

i do in a way....i think that certain things happen for a reason.i think fate is life's question and its up to you to answer and therefore determine your fate by what you choose to do.
