We just had auditions for the Student Directed One-Acts and I'm going to play Baker in "A Game." We changed their names to girls names, though, so I'm acutally Brooke.
This is for a class. The Directors are kids in the Directing class and the actors are kids in the Beginning Acting class. Surprisingly...I think I got the part I wanted, even though I didn't know what the parts, or the plays for that matter, were before the auditions.

I don't know what the school's musical will be this year. I'm pushing for Phantom of the Opera. (My voice teacher is one of the teachers who runs it, and I mentioned it to her). If we were to do it, then I'd want to play the Phantom. He's so sexy! And he has the best songs!
I also want to play Donna in Mamma Mia! She's got great songs too. (I love that show!)
Any lead role, I want. Publicity man.
And I want to play any Shakesphere character. I love challenging roles.

My school is putting on a musical this year. I don't know what it is yet, but I hope they put on Aladdin! I'd want to be the Genie, or a female Jafar. Maybe even a female Sultan. Great thing about Aladdin, you can change most of the character's genders to suit the actors...
At the moment, I'm in a community children's play that premiers on Halloween (maybe not my cast, though- double casted). It's the company's teen production, and we perform to elementary schools, with one evening performance each. I get to miss school (and my two math classes- yes!) to perform! It's awesome.
I just realised I have yet to mention the play. It's called The Tales of Andergrimm, and it's an original, commissioned play demonstrating "character education". I play both Character Ed (who opens and closes the show), and the Mean Duck in the Ugly Duckling. It's so fun.
Yikes... I should probably go practice...

Wow! Sounds like we have alot of serious actors here! ^_^ LOL! Actually, I'm going to be auditioning for the role of "Katherine" in "The Taming of the Shrew" It should be fun! :0)

A bunch of us just auditioned for Our Town. We get parts on Sunday! Although we're freshmen and won't get that big of a part (probably an audience member), we're shooting high! I might be a mother...that's only if I'm lucky, even though that part makes me a bit annoyed.

Well, we had auditions this past week for the school play (but I couldn't post about them till now since the Guilds have been down.)
Anyway...the play this year, is Julius Caesar, but it may very well end up being Julia Caesar. See, we're using the original dialouge, but the roles are being gender-reversed, so a girl will play Julius Cearsar, and a guy will play Calpurnia. And, the show is being set in Modern day New York City, and it takes place at a big company, that was just invloved in a hostile takeover. So yeah, that should be fun. I want a good part. The cast list will be up Monday.
