Ok people I am sick and tired of people thinking Avatar is a children's show. Even though it probably is. The actual rating for that is 6-12 but no matter you should be able to watch whatever you want. It doesn't make sense I mean now I'm getting harassed for dressing like Aang and liking the show in general. Cool show evil people in this world. Well what do you think it is? For people on Gaia and everyone or for younger children?

i kno atleast 5 ppl ages 15-18 that love Avatar, not including those in this guild. When u think about it, the main character is 12, and the rest are all teenagers or middle age.
Avatar really has a 12 and up age range, and i think thats why it doesnt do too well with nick. if it was on cartoon network at like, 10 oclock it'd do so much better... well thts my opinion. avatar is too complex for 6 yr olds now, so thts y they go back n watch spongebob reruns

Well, I wouldn't say the show doesn't do so well - they consider it one of their hit shows. xD

Of course, none of the actual little kids I know like it except my sister, since she watches it with us. So yeah, I think Mike and Bryan's ideas are aimed a bit higher. I think it was somewhere in here that I read that they had to redo part of the last battle with the Combustion Man to "suggest" his death more lightly.

I gotta say they do an awesome job with Nickelodeon regulations though. It's hard to have such an epic storyline without any bloodshed. Wait...I take it back. Appa bled a little in "Appa's Lost Days."

I watch it and love it! And I'm 20....

But yes, it IS a children's show....you don't see blood, you have no killings,

I don't know if thats a spoiler...but here it goes:
there was one episode that it became clear...the one Sokka had Azula thrown against a wall and she was talking badly about Suki....knowing Sokka(that once wanted to let Zuko die on the snow) he'd just KILL her right there....but he did NOTHING! Not even an punch....

But just because it's a children's show doesn't mean that the show has to be bad.....they're doing an great work with Avatar.

Canadians aren't like americans that makes cartoons with no decent storyline or with no ending....

No offence sweatdrop

I agree, I was disappointed of the eps when they went to the air temple after the invasion. It didn't turn out like expected.

I say any age. And again not EVERYONE thinks it's a children's show. The ones that do are usually individuals that are either much older, and don't have much of an interest in stuff like that, or people that believe that real "anime" is made only in Japan.

Yes, the show is for kids, but it's for older teens, and even adults too. I'm 19 and a huge fan. So...I don't see the big deal. I have som friends who are in their late 20's and they love it just as much.

Thank you people for voting and answering. Now I don't exactly feel weird liking a children's show.

I think Avatar's a good show for any age. Its weird that in America most people think that cartoons are just for little kids. The most explicit shows and movie I've ever seen were all animated (Elfed Lied, Hellsing, Felidae). Cartoons are really amusing too. At least, the GOOD ones are. Like Avatar, and Animaniacs heart

I know people that watch the show and are over thirty so it's definitely not for only kids. In fact nobody ever told me that I shouldn't watch the show because it was a kid show but because they just didn't like it and went off to watch the yellow sponge that lives under the sea.

I'm 15 and I love it (ok...I'm 14 but I'll be 15 next week). One of my teachers says she loves it and watches it with her.....I think 6-year-old-son (she's I think 29). And I think Nick is realizing that teenagers are watching their shows a little bit more than actually young kids, just like ViZ media towards Naruto (In Saturday's epi Naruto said "No freakin way!" towards Hinata's jutsu...I coulda sworn he said "No ******** way!"). Plus, there is blood and death in the show (Katara's hands had blood on them when she got burned by Aang,Appa bled in Appa's Lost Days, and Zhao, the Airbenders, and Combustion Man were both killed.it talked about/kinda showed pregnancy, and if they thought little kids were watching it they wouldn't have put that there, since most of them believe in the Stork, and there's BLOODBENDING)
