Ah, there are some peices of work that you feel that you must tell others to read, and this is where you do it.

I find myself very cynical in life, so when I heard about the concept of "Battle Royal" by Koshun Takami. I found this be a great way to read about the true human side of nature. What we do to survive.

The story is that a government run on fascism has a Program that they call....well..."The program." The program is a junior high class is choosen at random every couple of years and sent onto a island where the only people there, are the them and the goverment troops and runners of the program. What do they do there? Why...kill each other of course! Thats right, in order to leave the island, you must kill everyone else, only one person may live.

This may seem moribid and just plain sick, but to me, this is a way to see a side of the human nature that sometimes you rarely get to see. What one person is willing to do to save his/her own life. The concept reminds me of Lor od the Flies(Also a good book if you are looking for the dark side of human nature.

So for those who want to read about the dark side of our nature, and a good plot making you think about "could this ever really happen?", please pick up a copy of "Battle Royal." Also, "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding is a classic that you may enjoy also 3nodding

Mein Kampf should be required reading in schools.

On a more cheerful note, Terry Pratchett's discworld series is a sharp jab at fantasy universes at large that manages to have a solid continuity and good plots, too.

jeez, if i find a book i like, ppl have a hard time getting my attention or getting me to do stuff, and im only a couple years older than u. probably a good thing considering how much trouble most kids my age seem to have problems pronouncing words like could and have. but thats just the kids at my school, so i cant be sure that this is how all kids my age are.

No, I really wasn't so fond of reading when I was your age either, because I didn't know what I liked.
I continued to look and explore the options though. I found that I like biographies, and fictions book.
I've never really been one for imaginary things, or made up worlds. I need things that could happen in real life.

I'm not. It's a work of genius. Evil genius, but a slap in the face with everything that is WRONG in the world would do wonders.
