Kia being a curious fox pounced between the trees of the forest, stumbling and jolting from time to time as her paws caught the roots of the trees. Once more she found herself face to face with the openness outside of the forest, the grass field merging into the mesmerising blue. Her heart pounded, remembering how the noises before scared her back into the forest. She edged closer, moving gently and calmly towards the blue. She wondered if this time she would discover the cause of the splash. What had caused it? Could it talk? Was it friendly?
She sat on the grass, her nose twinging gently with the smell of salt lingering in the air. The grass blew gently into her fur with the breeze that cooled her. Watching and waiting, that was her plan now.

 Lyra had been off scrounging around the waters. She hadn't really gone off and away from the water very often. She heard some rustling of in the grass. Her ears perk up in curiosity, and crept forward slowly.Lori looks up, seeing Lyra going off. That immediately got her attention. Lyra never went off without others, she was too shy. Lori then got up, and took off after her. "Lyra?" She spoke softly, not exactly knowing where the other female was.'Lyra? Why is Lori looking for Lyra?' Scarlet looked up from watching the two males of the group. And saw Lori going off into the grass. Not sure what was going on, she went to Yorick and Jack. She knew it would injure her pride, especially since it involved asking Jack for help. He was a confident, and cocky prat. Quelling her injured pride, she rushed to the two males. "Jack, Yorick! Lori's gone off, and I think she's looking for Lyra!"Yorick looks up at Scarlet's proclamation. "What?" Lyra never went off, everyone knew that, yet she'd gone off first. It befuddled him. He looks over at Jack, and sees a small smirk. 'uh-oh' was the only thought to cross his mind. A smirking Jack was never good. It tended to mean that he had an idea and they never went as he [Jack] planned. With a sigh, Yorick shakes his head, knowing he wouldn't be able to get a word in. He was envious of Jack. He seemed to have it all. He had a way with ladies (at times), he was humorous (for the most part...a bit stupid at times...), and he always found a way to make the best of the situation.Jack smirked, happy to have another adventure. He was already plotting how to find Lori and Lyra. "Well, it looks like Little Lyra has gotten brave..." With that, he headed towards the grass. Turning his head to look back at Scarlet and Yorick, he spoke up. "Are ye comin' or not?" With that, he headed off once more, with Scarlet and Yorick following behind him.((Would be better, but I'm in history. XD))

Kia continued to sit their her eyes slowly drifting closed as the fresh air filled her nose and made the cub tired, she blinked herself back to reality.
A rustle....
She could hear something, her ears twitched nervously, something was coming closer. She stood up, her back arched in a position she felt looked powerful, although she felt like a 'scared cat'. The hairs on her neck spiked up, the breeze blew her fur gently it was still calming.
She resisted with all her power not to flee, her curiosity had gripped her, there was no turning back now.

Kanji looked up from the water, he ears felt the sea breeze, he watched as five otters moved in the same direction. He pondered.... "Where are they going?" Yet his fear of never seeing the water again kept him sitting there simply watching. Perhaps they would come back? He dived into the water, his eyes soaked gently as he dived to the bottom and touching a rock before swimming back to the surface. When he returned he could still see a red and a red and black figure walking away. He edged out of the water. Slowly but surely his skin dried in the sun.
...now....should he follow?
"I can do this." He told himself. And before he could stop himself he found himself running in the direction of the strangers calling.
"WAIT FOR ME...." His voice huffed and puffed.

Kia's continued to watch and listen, the hairs prickling more on her neck. Something could talk? It was in the same language that she was thinking in so she understood it, a strong emotion slipped over her like a second skin, what was it, excitement, fear, dread? She didn't know. Her heart continued beating fast. The voice she heard had called out 'wait for me' that meant there was obviously more than one.
She found her feet wouldn't move like a deer stood in headlights she remained perfectly still, her back arched, her hairs on standing one edge, her heart beating ever faster. Was this the moment of truth? The moment she found out about the thing that had splashed in the water when she had first ventured to the water.
She tested her voice, on her first attempt nothing happened, bar the flapping of her tongue. She tried again, and again, and again. Then finally the words formulated in her mouth and rang out clear, although it was obvious she was now shaking.
"Hel-lo. Is any-one the-re?"

Jack, comes to an abrupt stop. He had heard it, he knew he had. There was no way that he had imagined a male calling out to them, telling to wait. He turns to his two companions for confirmation. "I'm not hearing things, am I?"
Scarlet shakes her head. "No...I heard it too. Maybe we should turn back, and find him? I mean, I wouldn't want to be out here by myself, either..."
Nodding in agreement with Scarlet, Yorick speaks up. "I, too, heard his voice. Let's look for him?"
Jack nods at Yorick and Scarlet. "Let's find him then!" Turning around the three slowly make their way towards the sound of the voice. They hadn't gotten far into the grass-like area, so it didn't take them too long to find him. "'ello there..." Jack trailed off, waiting for the black and yellow otter to speak up.
Lyra gasped. She heard a shakey voice, she was pretty close to Kia, but she didn't know that. "Hello? Who are you? Where are you?" She was slowly regretting that she went off on her own. "Please don't eat me!"
Lori was lost. That much was sure. She couldn't see anyone, nor hear anyone. Being her adventurous self, she wasn't too worried. She'd find them, or they'd find her, just like always. She continued her search for Lyra, not aware that the more she walked, the further she got from everyone else.

Kanji's breath thickened as he ran, he hadn't moved liked this in a while, he felt as if he was using muscles he had never known existed. He heard the footsteps coming closer, and voices calling out, where they for him? He carried on his pace, seeing as he ran the figures of three other Otters, they seemed to be close. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. He felt like an outcast, and due to his intellect he usually came across as one as well. Should he run away now while he has a chance? Maybe no one had spotted him yet. "NO!" He said to himself "Stay here, stay with it, you can do this."
"HELLO" He shouted out, hoping desperately for a response, that they where actually looking for him and not another.
He ran and ran, and soon he was within a few paces of the others. He came to an abrupt stop, his feet leaving indentations in the soft ground below.
"My name is Kanji." he said in a quiet voice, hoping with every fraction of himself that someone would reply. Now he would wait, standing in silence until one of the strangers addressed him. He would wait till later to ask them where they where going in such a hurry, hoping that perhaps one of them would unsuspectingly reveal this information without him asking.

Kia stood still, frozen. The creature was completely different looking, no fur, blue skin with silvery-white strips. She was intrigued, and as Kia eyed the details she felt herself relax slightly. Her arched back lowering into her normal posture.
Ask she watched the creature she was surprised to see its mouth open as beautifully formed words appeared, words of the same quality as her thinking, yet she had not yet mastered the delivery. She was sure it would come but until then she would be envious of all those who could speak fluently.
"Why... would I eat you?" She paused, carefully considering her words. "How do I know.... you won't eat me?"
She lowered her head solemnly, tittering slightly. "My name.... I think is... Kia. Who may you be....stranger from the.... blue thing."

Jack pauses. "Kanji? A pleasure, I'm sure. I am Cap'n Jack Sparrow. Surely you have heard of me?" Jack was vain, and was almost positive that everyone knew who he was. It hardly crossed his mind that someone wouldn't know who he was.
Tittering, Scarlet shakes her head. "Please forgive him. He is a bit daft. I am Scarlet. It is very nice to meet you, Kanji!"
"My name is Yorick..." He smiled slightly. "A pleasure to meet you, Kanji!" He smiles at the black and yellow otter. "Will you be joining us in our search?"
Hearing Kia's question, Lyra laughs. "ME? Eat you?! But I'm soo tiny! Besides, I don't eat meet! I eat shellfish, and clams, and other things like that! You could easily eat me, though!" She grins at Kia, and then laughs. "The blue thing? You mean the water?" Lyra had gone far out, but she didn't know that it was an ocean...just that it was water. "It's nice to meet you, Kia of the moors! I am Lyra!" Lyra nods as she saids her name, kind of looking like she's reminding herself of her own name.
Lori stumbled about, completely lost, but not really caring. Someone would find her later, she hoped.

Kia listened patiently, nodding her head every now and then, she noticed that every time she nodded her head the left ear would sort of limp forward in a playful fashion.
"The moors?" She contemplated this saying for a while before shaking her head. "I am from the forest. Its a beautiful place." She nodded again.
She looked towards the blue thing that was now called 'water' she was intrigued even more by it. "Water you say? What is its purpose?" She was curious again, her inhibitions about talking to this creatures had all but dissolved.
She stood up straight, her tail flicking slightly to the left before swaying in the wind, she walked closer to the creature before stopping in front of her and sniffing at the air. Suddenly she stumbled over apparently thin air and rolled in the direction of Lyra. She stopped under Lyra's feet. "Oh...I am sorry."

"Captain Jack...." He ran those words through his mind, he had never heard of them so he slowly shook his head, he didn't want to appear rude but he simply didn't know of a Captain Jack Sparrow. His eyes moved slowly to Scarlet, he voice was tender and rang in his ears like a harmonic chorus of bells, she was beautiful. Her form was well proportioned and her colouring was exquisite. He blinked and looked to the ground. He must control himself and not stare, that would be rude. Plus she was probably spoken for by the Captain fellow. He felt his cheeks blush softly and he walked forward fumbling slightly as he did.
"I was planning to help you, I have no idea who you are looking for.... I was just...." He swallowed, saying what he felt could be cause for him to be laughed at, he felt a rush of butterflies flapping around frantically in his stomach. He never knew if he didn't try. "...lonely." The word came out like a distasteful piece of food, his voice lined with a slight bitterness. 'No' he thought to himself, he needed to be strong. So he lifted his head and smiled.
"It is very nice to meet you all, Jack, Yorick...." He paused for the briefest of moments, the name lingered on his lips as he spoke it "...Scarlet."
He ran ahead, into the direct they had all been travelling originally. "Lets go then" he called behind him. He didn't want to make his feelings obvious, so for now it was probably best to ignore them.

Jack sighs. It seemed like quite a few didn't know who he was. With a shrug, he replies. "Ah well. Doesn't matter if you knew me or not..."
Scarlet grins at him. "The pleasure is all ours, I assure you. As for who we're looking for: two of our others. Lori and Lyra. Lyra went off, and then Lori went off after her, and so we've lost them both!" She babbled slightly, having not noticed the brief pause before he said her name.
Yorick takes off after Kanji. "Come on, you two!"
Lyra grins at her new companion that was at her feet. "It's alright!" She looks over towards the water. "It's for swimming, and well, to get water...and in my case, and for the rest of the otters, to find food, and shells!" She then towards the forest. "It looks a bit scary...it's so big!"
Lori wondered about, pausing every so often. After a few moments, she saw a little dragon fly land on a rock. She goes up, to look at it, and gasps as it flew away.

Kai smiled. Maybe the water wasn't as scary as she had orginally anticipated? She looked toward the forest. "Scary?" She paused, thinking about it now the shadows did fall in a peculiar manor, perhaps it could even be considered to be ominous? She laughed, it was nonsense, she loved spending time searching and having fun within the trees. "No, I think it is magnificent. It very beautiful. There are lots of flowers, in different colours, bright and dull ones. The forest is alive. The trees make for great hiding places..." She paused for a moment, she wasn't prepared to tell Lyra about her secret place. Not yet at least.
She looked over in the direction Lyra had come, there was movement.
"Maybe we should go?" She hesitated, fear striking her body still again, her nervousness only multiplied by the sound of voices in the distance, now that she listened for them they rang clear and mighty on the wind. "I think something.....is heading this way!!"

Lyra listens, fascinated, as Kai speaks. "Really? This is the farthest I've ever been from the water! Hiding in trees? Odd." She too heard the voices. "I think that it's a few that I know...but...they're with someone else. I don't know who." She shrugs lightly. "Where would we go, though?"

"You know them?" Her curiosity sprung back into dominance, perhaps there was nothing to be afraid of beyond the forest after all.
"Well now we have two options..." she paused as if to consider both herself before speaking up, her mind was buzzing with ideas and excitement. "I can take you into the forest, or we can go and meet up with your other friends."
She sat down, her legs where aching slightly, she had never stood in one spot for this long before, she licked her lips revealing her teeth for a fleeting moment.
Her paws crossed automatically and she resembled a sphinx with her elegant position. Strangely she felt like purring.
