Her blonde hair is thick, so she often has to run a brush through it from time to time during the day so it doesn’t look unkempt, but that doesn't mean it looks perfect. Usually blonde strands of hair fall over her face, or over the right side, the opposite side where it is parted. When in need, or boredom, Alanis will flip it out in a cute manner, and even add a cute headband to match if the outfit so demands it. A small bow clip is possible in her blonde hair. When she's really working hard on either in school, physical work, or on a creative project, Alanis will put her short hair back in a tiny ponytail, though most of the hair that profiles her face fall into her face, and loosly around the rubberband. This blonde has a pale creamy skin color, but her skin can turn easily red, whether it's in the classroom, in front of that certian someone, or after running around, kicking her soccer ball. In a way, she may seem like a small, blushing porcelain doll. Her eyes are a pale blue, such as ice, which is touched up by black eyeliner, not too much, and possibly some barely added pale eye shadow, maybe even black when she’s on a dreary day. Her nose is small, and her lips are average, not large, not thin, somewhere in between, with the top lip being slightly wavy and thinner than the bottom. Alanis’ face is not quite heart-shaped, but isn’t oval. Her cheeks are full, with a pointed chin. And don’t be surprised if she has a small paint mark on her cheek or fingers.
Alanis’ body is rather small, she stands only 5 feet and 4 and a half inches. She has a small waist, and a trim figure, that almost looks bony, but there is flesh visible. Though she looks somewhat fragile, Alanis actually has muscles on those thin bones. But the real muscles are on her thighs and legs. This blonde has legs of an athlete, playing football (soccer) for her parents so they’ll at least be satisfied that she’s at least a bit normal, being into a sport. Thus, she has the agility and speed like a cheeta.
Whenever out of her uniform, Alanis wears comfortable tight fitting shirts shirts that she can paint in, usually in a dark color, and pairs of old worn-out jeans she’s had for years. If she’s in the mood to be girly, she’ll wear that pair of legwarmers her mother had bought for her for her last birthday, and that skirt that’s been packed away in the far reaches of her closet. She is inclined to layering her clothing, such as long sleeve shirts, and a short sleeve over the top. Multi-colored rubber bracelets are always seen on her left wrist, and on the other, a useful purple watch can be seen. The jeans she loves to where are almost always flared, but she does have that one pair of skinny jeans somewhere in that abbyss of clothing she's never worn. When it's hot, she'll usually roll them up to her knee, and leave it at that. In the cold, she'll throw on that hoodie sweater, usually either black, or a dark color. Rolled up jeans, and then leggings underneath is always an option, though she'll reluctantly wear the ones that are brightly colored. Converse are ALWAYS seen on her feet, along with black or, you guessed it, a dark colored pair of socks. Otherwise, if that's not what she's wearing, expect some paint covered clothing.
Alanis likes to keep her sidesling back with her at all times, so she's never without the contents that are kept with in it: paints, pencils, paintbrushes, sketch books, and a horror or fantasy book she is currently reading. One thing unique about this bag is that is has loads of buttons that say funny, cruel, random, or just plain freaky sayings. Her most favorite buttons are the random ones.[it's a short story, but it's mine] Prestige’s Standard Performing Arts Institute was not just a place for the theatrical arts. It was place where young 18 year old Evelyn Booker and 20 year old Jonathan Jensen had met in their advanced performing arts classes. Jonathan had been entranced by Evelyn’s beautiful platinum blonde hair and sky blue eyes that showed so much fervor for her career, and Evelyn had been memorized by the elegant way Jonathan had so skillfully acted upon the limelight of the stage, being the most talented actor at the small school on the very edge of Manchester, United Kingdom. It was when they had preformed the famous skit “Romeo and Juliet”, Romeo being played by Jonathan, and Juliet being played by Evelyn, that they had found to be completely and deeply into the not-so-fake love both had been dying to find. On the last night of the performance of the well-known play, the last scene, where Romeo and Juliet had shared their last passionate kiss, was not just acting. It was their very first kiss together that wasn’t meant to be on stage in front of an audience for their entertainment. It was that night that both Evelyn and Jonathan had came to know they were meant for each other. And on that night, was when their little precious joy from above was conceived.
Of course Evelyn and Jonathan had been completely aware of the dangers of having a child before marriage, but the love they felt for each other had completely blocked off all the blood to their brains, causing them to not realize what they were getting into until Evelyn had been 9 months pregnant and heading into the emergency room. Yes, reality had struck them hard.
And what a little reality miss Alanis Irene Jensen had been. Endless nights of cries for nothing, and two very sore and exhausted adults were played for all to see for a few months. Evelyn and Jonathan had very little time to plan the wedding that was awaiting for them in the next few weeks, leaving most of the planning for Evelyn’s parents, or having the grandparents of the young child baby-sit her, while they went off to prepare. In the end, both the young unmarried parents had eventually been married ‘till death do they part, and said their ‘I dos’. And now they had a child waiting at home, already having a small family.
The grandfather had fallen into sickness when Alanis was the age of 3, and had to be taken into the care of her parents, making the small house they possessed very crowded, expanding the family by two members. The ill aged man had, every day, sat in front of the little TV on the recliner, watching one of the most well-known shows of the old times: Twilight Zone. Alanis was one of those young children who didn’t like to assert herself with the other children, and very much preferred to stay with her grandfather everyday after preschool. And this was when she had found her fervent taste for the bizarre. Everyday, young Alanis would sit in front of the TV with her grandfather, watching intently, with wide eyes, studying, wondering… It amazed her.
Her parents became worried about her, finding their daughter’s interest rather… strange. To help her focus more on the arts, as they had so wished for their precious child, they gave her a very lovely paint-set and a canvass that would be used for only professionals for her 6th birthday. Much to their pleasure, Alanis had been more than thrilled with the artistic set, her creative juices really starting to flow from within her from her parents. And so, she began to paint. She became attracted to the dark colors, such as navy blue, black, blood red, those types. The other colors, the more bright ones, were left untouched, or barely used. Her paintings were only animator, but she was only a 6 or 7 year old, and her parents knew that her skills would develop. However, the pictures Alanis were beginning to paint weren’t the most pleasant. The dull, yet vivid paintings she had created were similar to the one thing that had interested her the few years before, and rather morbid and strange for such a young age. This frightened the young couple even more, and put them into panic. Soon, Alanis was forbidden to enjoy the show that so triggered her curiosity and creativity, and was forced into not using the colors she once used up in her paint sets. The colors she once used were now taken away from her.
Upset and distraught, Alanis fled from her house, down the street they lived on, sick off being required to be simple and normal, like an ordinary girl. She ran away as far as she could, until she collapsed onto a soft, grassy field, the sky turning a dim gray. Her legs felt like rocks, unable to get herself up. Heck, she didn’t even know where she was. So the tears began to flow down her cheeks, and the sobs began to uncontrollably shake her body. She was lost. She was miserable. And she was lonely.
It wasn’t before long when the cold rain began to drizzle down on the poor girl, but there was also a disturbance out in that field. A rather large black crow, a raven, had appeared before her, pecking down upon her head, making her wake up from the hazy dream. Alanis, strangely, had felt an instant attraction to the bird, and it wasn’t before long before something odd and bizarre had happened.
It spoke to her.
It had told her it’s name was Fey, it was male. He request that she would go back to her home, and get in a warm bed before it really got dark and gloomy. The strange bird had even asked if she would need assistance to her house, if she were lost. Alanis was lost for words, and merely nodded her head, following the peculiar raven, not quite sure if it was trustworthy or not. But she was more than soon back to her house, her family quite anxious and content to her arrival. When Alanis had told them about the raven… well, you could only image her parents’ reaction. Alanis, though the age of 7, was soon put on medication. But that didn’t stop her from leaving her home, again, and search for the bird. And it wasn’t before long before she found it… or rather, it found HER.
In the meadow, she spilled all her feelings, emotions, thoughts, and everything to Fey, happy and joyful that she finally had found someone who would listen, agree, and support her. Fey was like a dream come true. Fey had become her best friend.
For the next few years, Alanis’ schedule had been to go to school, come home, watch an episode of the Twilight Zone with her grandfather, take all her paints and paper to the meadow, and stay there for the rest of the day with Fey, painting him and speaking to him like a human would to another human. Her parents had become stricken with grief when they had gone through her sketch book, finding that every picture was very detailed, but only of either a crow, or a very strange sci-fi painting, that had a crow somewhere in it. And the medication became more strongly influenced.
It was painfully hard to believe for the family of Alanis Jensen when a strange letter came in the mail when Alanis was the age of 11 in August. Alanis was more than thrilled by the news that she was, in fact, a witch, something that was far more than ordinary; she always knew she wasn’t normal. Her parents had strongly not support the letter and her special powers, but had eventually given in. Alanis had told Fey about the letter, and the large raven had been as enthralled as she had, but also sad that she could no longer spend all her days with him, keeping him company. But on the day of her depart, she kissed him softly on the head, and promised that during the summer, she would return to him, and spill in about her adventures at Hogwarts.
Alanis had been sorted into the house of Ravenclaw, which didn’t surprise her, to say the least, and had quickly found that this was far more than she could ever believe to happen to her. Exploring the castle and grounds and reading in the library was what she did on her spare time, so she had plenty to talk about to her best friend at home. And it was beneficial to her curiosity to know everything about this world that she was dragged into. But during those few moments that she had spared, besides burning her interests, painting and school work, Alanis had found herself to fall for a rather mysterious young boy in her classes, though has never been actually able to withstand talking to him. It was admiration and attraction from afar, and whenever the opportunity came up to actually speak to him (which was almost, like, never), she never took the chance, and had always mentally kicked herself that whole week for not at least commenting on his wizarding skills or saying a simple ‘hello’.
This is now her third time attending Hogwarts, and her parents are half-supporting of everything she does, as usual. But this year, she is determined to dig under the secrets that are awaiting to be found about the castle, develop her artistic skills, and to do whatever it takes to fulfill her curiosity.[me in a nut-shell] Strange. Yes, something that Alanis has heard quite often in the past, and it hasn’t surprised her when someone would call her freak, either. Alanis has always been the type to rather be alone, to be able to think clearly in her own space, and to focus on her works of art. She enjoys painting, but not all that frilly flowery crap that young girls her age normally paint. No. She enjoys creating crows or ravens and anything sci-fi, weird, or bizarre with her paintbrush on the paper. And sometimes her pictures become rather morbid when she’s in a real bad mood, or just feels like something different.
When she’s in a good mood, Alanis can willingly paint things such as pretty fields, like the one she loves, or her beloved best friend at home. She’ll be on of those people who’ll help you with anything, and listen to your complaints, though don’t expect any sympathy feelings back. She’ll just tell you the best wise advice she’s got, and expects you to be strong, and get over it. Smiles and laughter are often seen when everything’s alright, and she’ll even be talkative to you. She’s rather a chatter-box once you get to really know her. Alanis has been known to laugh at anything random, or just completely out there. So if you wish to make her giggle, there you go.
Alanis in a bad mood is, well, a very bad thing. She tends to be extremely cynical, sarcastic, and snappy, and is inclined to frown at almost anything. She’s careless about your feelings, and wishes for you to back off when you get that look she’ll shoot you that says “go away”. And don’t expect her to open up so easily to you when you finally irritate her to where she just gives up on getting you to leave her alone. It’s either she’ll just blow you off, or just completely walk away. When in disgust, her nostrils will flare, and her eyes become an icy blue.
Alanis has also taken in the talent of writing, but don't expect nice happy endings. Usually they're rather strange and bizarre, sci-fi of course. But you probably figured that out yourself, right?
Alanis doesn't have particularly polite manners around people, and if she hurts your feelings by saying a sarcastic remark, don't be too upset. It's just her. And when you spend most of your days with a raven who's just as worse, or even more, as her, and have only a few human friends in her lifetime, you wouldn't have nice social skills, either, would you? She's fairly social, however, it is just that most people who've heard of her morbid artwork and strange intersts, they tend to avoid her. This sometimes makes her prone to going into depression, which assists to her sometimes "quiet in the back corner, watching everyone enjoy themselves" attitude. Though most find her silent and serene, inside, she's just as wild as a child on a sugar high. But she usually contains these emotions, controlling them so they don't get oo out of hand. Most of her very few friends have seen this side of Alanis. And most everyone will never see it.
If you wish to get on Alanis’ good side, compliment her on her artwork, and you’ll soon see that beautiful young girl inside her, awaiting to bloom. It takes some time to truly understand her, but once you do, her rather bubbly and happy personality will be worth it.
Oh yes, Alanis tends to hurt herself... a lot. She may just tend to stare blankly at the oozing blood, and then possibly ignore it. She's the type who isn't bothered by physical pain. In fact, she sometimes enjoys making herself run distances just so she can feel accomplished or make herself pass out. No, she does not cut, neither does she inflict pain upon herself for attention. Now, it's the emotional pain that she suffers from.
Although by how she acts or feels, it seems as though she really doesn't give a damn about what you think of her... which is only half true. In fact, she is one of the most self-concious people at the school. Alanis feels deeply hurt whenever made fun of or teased for anything, and can be deeply wounded by carefully analyzed cutting words. In the past, Alanis has found herself crying the stalls of the vacant girls' bathroom on the second floor (is it the second?), along side Moaning Murtle, who isn't a very great help to her at all, and is just as worse. It's one of those kind of deals where it seems like everyone thinks poorly of her in her head, and she confuses the thoughts with reality. The only real thing she's crying out for: real friends who understand. And not ones that aren't human, either. [my inspiration] Twilight Zone. Painting. Soccer. Fay. Divinitations. (just starting it this year, but I definitely know I'll like it.) People to compliment me on my work. (writing and paintings) Sci-Fi ANYTHING. Strawberry ice cream. (OMG it's actually something I can eat) Gloomy days where the sun is gone. Running. (only because it's the only source of exercise that I get, besides soccer) Anything random. Moochie. Zaccheus Dane. [should be banned from the face of the earth]Being emotionally hurt. Disloyalty. Pudding . Chocolate (I'm allurgic). Sometimes my parents. Explaining myself. When I stutter. (which tends to be a lot) Leigh Guidry and Reagan Overfield. Gilderoy Lockhart. Anything written by Gilderoy Lockhart. People who break promises. [and this is pretty much it] So you might think I'm a little strange for being completely passionate about the Twilight Zone... It's creative; I like creative. So if you don't like it... you should. Oh, and I enjoy playing football (Soccer, for the English-challenged). I play it when my parents are looking, so they know I'm not half as crazy as they think I am. Playing football is normal... I suppose. Maybe they'll take me off that medicine they so think is needed for me. I wonder if they realize that I never take those stupid pills. Oh, and I tend to blush around that good-looking Slytherin in some of my classes... Shh, no one knows about it. (at least I think.) DON'T TELL!. [ r e l a t i o n s ] [ t h e w i s e ]Name: Ryan Leon Martin Year: 7th House: Ravenclaw Relationship: 8DDD & <3 What you think of Alanis: "Oh, Alanis! Yeah, she's a subbing person like me! It's never a boring day when we don't do much at quidditch, since people don't always get hurt. But I guess I can say I enjoy her company, though many may think she's strange and that my sister may find her annoying. I have to admit that she's one of the only people I like to talk to that's in such a grade below mine." History, if any: All i can say is that they're in the same house, both are subs on the team (or so we say in our profiles) and that's about it? Plot ideas: Not that I can think of. If you come across something, or if I do, then this would very well change!Name: Rosaline Windsor Year: 5th House: Ravenclaw Relationship: 8D, and D< but in the best way possible What you think of Alanis: "I could only really judge Alanis on what other people have said. The only time I ever made contact with her was in the bookstore. She didn't seem like a total nut-case, but then again, we barely spoke." History, if any: "What a cheerful title." Oh, I knew you would remember. Plot ideas: Whatever you want. If Alanis wanted to be friends, Rosaline wouldn't look down upon her like most do... unless she does something really bizarre.Name: Zaidin Matthew Berkeley Year: 7 House: Ravenclaw Relationship: 8DDD What you think of Alanis: "She's awesomeeee! Her art it's soo...soo cooooollll, man. And she's really nice." History, if any: In the same house. Plenty of conversing, you know? Plot ideas: Helpful relationship. :3Name: Masika Sabah Het-heru Year: 6 House: Ravenclaw Relationship: 8DDD What you think of Alanis: "She's...extravagant. Not like...Zaidin...extravagant...just. I guess Ecelectic is a better word. She's very nice, and I consider her my little sister." History, if any: They're in the same house, so definately some conversations. Plot ideas: Helpful relationship.Name: Myranda Halliwell Year: 2nd year House: Ravenclaw Relationship: 8DDD, almost 8DDDD What you think of Alanis: "OHHH, you mean AJ! I love AJ like a sister, though I doubt she feels tha same as me. Alanis can sometimes be very cryptic; she never tells me any of her secrets! Ever! She's very intelligent, though in a cynical way. I suppose she can be strange and a bit too dark for my liking, but Alanis gives free wise advice, which I need, since I don't even use my own suggestions!" History, if any: Myranda met Alanis last year in her 1st year, quickly finding an interest in Alanis' strange interests and passions. Although Alanis was a but hesitant about it, she eventually grew to enjoying her strange... loud... obnoxious company. Plot ideas: I've got some ideas.Name: Jasper "Moochie" Jennings Year: 4th House: Ravenclaw Relationship: <333 & 8DD What you think of Alanis: "Alanis is...something else. I dunno, she's great. A bit odd, but I like it. She's sort of...well I wouldn't say she's a good friend of mine, but we've definitely had our moments. And...I don't know. I like her, alright? And I don't know why." History, if any: She's just a year younger than him, so they've known each other for almost all of their Hogwarts lives, and lately Mooch has developed a bit of a crush on the strange girl known as Alanis Jensen. Plot ideas: I see looOoOooooOOoove in the future :] At least on Moochie's end[ t h e b r a v e ]Name: Leigh Guidry Year: 3rd House: Gryffindor Relationship: D<<<<, plus I like my air Alanis-free What you think of Alanis: "I've told everyone who's asked: you don't need a reason not to like someone. People think I'm odd, like "Oh, that's Leigh, she blows up stuff, its funny." But with Alanis, people say, "She's too strange for words, is something not working right up there?" Not exactly the kind of attention I want, thanks. It's just best if we aren't forced to even be near eachother." History, if any: They've shared a few classes, but haven't been forced to work together, thankfully. Plot ideas:Leigh is jealous of normal Ravenclaws for their brains. Alanis is not normal by any stretch of the imagination. Plus, leigh doesn't want that kind of talk about her, she'll stick to "she blows up stuff, it's funny."Name: Fidelious Violino (Fig) Year: 3rd year House: Gryffindor Relationship: Slight <3, 8D, and D< What you think of Alanis: "I try hard not to think of her as someone I do not want to be friends with, but it is hard when she is so quiet, and sometimes sarcastic to me when I just say 'hi', during our classes together class. She is rather... strange... and some people say that she is completely in love with... Dane. Which confuses me. Why would someone, normal or not normal, even consider having feelings for that disgusting Slytherin? And it seems like she does not like Leigh... which upsets me. <:[" History, if any: Gryffindor/Ravenclaw classes, and Fig tryng to make friends. It was never in Alanis' interest to even consider him as a companion. Plot ideas: Possibly some minor secret hatred, and avoidance if Alanis ever becomes slightly close to Zaccheus. Dunno. But Fig could be a friend to her, if she would just accept it. It depends on what the future says. Name: Adelaide Burkley (Alice) Year: 5th year House: Gryffindor Relationship: 8D and D<< What you think of Alanis: "Ugh, what a freak. I mean, yeah, I'm a weirdo, too, but she's just weird in a very bad way, not like Leigh or I. I hear a lot of crap about her, and I sort of feel bad for her for being hit by all those rumors, but from what I've seen, I wonder if those rumors are really true." History, if any: None, just minor conversation about her from Fig, and the ever curious glances from Alice. Plot ideas:I don't see much; Alanis is just there to Alice, really.Name: Matthias Altair Ibn-La'Ahad Year: 5th House: Gryffindor Relationship: 8DD What you think of Alanis: "Alan-the Twilight chick? She's hilarious! Her comments are so...out there. Like...next galaxy out there. She makes me laugh, even though I try not to-I don't want her to think I'm making fun of her-sometimes it feels like she wants to take a Ray Gun to my face. Soooo..." History, if any: They're in the same house, and Masi and Alan hang out a lot, so they see eachother, but don't often talk. Plot ideas: A much better relationship when Matthias gives upon Masika-which he will. Another younger sibling figure is always cool-lawl, big bro Matt. [ t h e h u m b l e ]Name: Hollywood Randle Year: 5th House: Hufflepuff Relationship: D< What you think of Alanis: "Well I actually hardly know anything about her. Just you know snippets of what people have said about her. They say she's strange but I really don't know..." History, if any: None, Alanis has been quite good at avoiding Hollywood, he hasn't ever seen her Plot ideas: Well maybe Hollywood can first meet Alanis when they literally bump into each other while neither are paying attention? Other than I have no clue...Name: Mac Alexanders Year: 4th House: Hufflepuff Relationship: 8D and D< What you think of Alanis: "Alanis is a year younger than me and in Ravenclaw right? Then yea, I do know her. She seems to be in her own little world most of the time though. And I'm pretty sure she hates me, but I'm pretty sure she has her reasons for it...right?..." History, if any: Passing glances in the hallways. Plot ideas: Well Mac might start to get annoyed of her and then it might just become mutual hatred. Who knows?[ t h e c u n n i n g ]Name: Zaccheus Dane Year: 3 House: Slytherin Relationship: 8D and just maybe, in the far off future, <33333 What you think of Alanis: “The Ravenclaw that’s allergic to chocolate. She’s just there, really. Never gave her a second thought. Leigh doesn’t like her, does she? I guess that’s a good sign.” History, if any: They’re in the same year so they’ve had classes together, but he hasn’t really noticed her any more than anyone else. Even less so because she’s not one of the ones who likes to bug him whenever they get the chance, although that would be a plus in his mind. Plot ideas: Now, Zacch has never dealt with a serious friendship in his life, let alone an actual relationship, so you’ll excuse him if he makes some mistakes along the way because he won’t understand what you’re hinting at. Likely most of these mistakes will leave Alanis pretty upset. But here’s a helpful hint ‘cos I’m nice like that: Telling him there is attraction present will do no good, but if one were to somehow show that there was definite attachment, that just might get his attention.Name: Skylar Mint Year: 6th House: Slytherin Relationship: D<< (8D is iffy?) What you think of Alanis: "I don't even know who you are, in truth. I mean, I've seen you in the halls and I know you're quite strange from what words have hit my ears, but still... you do seem quite strange. And your a third year.. in ravenclaw? Should I bother to even waste my time looking at you?" History, if any: Hehehe. None. I do believe I haven't waved my wand at you in your three years. Plot ideas:Not quite sure yet... maybe you'll get on her nerves and we'll shake things up a bit? Iunno. I'll get there.. maybe. Name: Castrus Sacre Year: 6th House: Slytherin Relationship: D<< What you think of Alanis: "Oh, that little girl infatuated with Zacch? She's rather silly. It's quite funny how I sometimes catch her watching Zacch. Well, if she wants anything to do with him, she'll have to impress me." History, if any: None really Plot ideas: Castrus will not be easily swayed as he is a perfectionist and a control freak. Don't expect him to even accept her as a human being, not even if Zacch does start to like her.
