A couple shops down, to your right is Slug & Jiggers Apothecary. Outside the shop, there are barrels of standard unperishable potion ingredients, labeled with prices per pound. There seems to be an unfamiliar mix of smells from inside, making you wary of going in. But through the window you can see fascinating things hanging from the ceiling, and far on the back wall, a shelf of all the rarest prizes from wild beasts.

Sky stood outside the shop, examining the ingrediants standing around. She needed a fresh supply, mainly because all of hers had been depleted the year before and she hadn't come to gather new ones until now, when she was shopping for that which she needed in the school year to come. Not only that, but it was the only way she was able to escape Ryan; he was just across the way at the Cauldron Shop, but it was still a small freedom. The leash around her neck had been loosened, but there was still no way for her to escape. Besides, she was too tired to try anyway.

Sighing, she gathered many of the unapatising ingrediants, going from this to that and even back, before she pusehd herself through the omonous looking door. Taking a step in, she let her eyes graze over the shop, taking it in and letting it take her into itself. It seemed just a little dark in there, perhaps giving the shop a zeal of which made it seem a bid forboding. All the same, she still needed a few more things, and she wondered if she'd find it. She had heard many stories about what one could find in the apothacaries if one looked hard enough, but she didn't want to find anything.

So, with a feeling inside her that made her a bit jumpy, she started around. "Maybe I should have asked Ryan to come... I always hated coming in here," she whispered to herself, her eyes scanning over the shelves for what she needed. Taking a glance over her shoulder, she made sure the shop owner wasn't near her to hear such a comment, one that would probably by a stab to his store. Then again, one couldn't blame her for such a feeling and though, a wish to not be alone in a slightly creepy place whose smell was strong enough to almost make her run.

ll sorry... i wasn't quite sure what to post D: ll

User ImageUser Image[ T ] he nerve of Matt showing up like that, and taking his time to practically let Alice know that he had feelings for her made Rain want to puke. Especially when it was outlandish and blatant flirtations, even though the silver haired young man could tell, he doubted that Alice, being completely blind and oblivious to that sort of realm, wouldn’t have figured it out. At least that was good. And Rain had to give Matt some thanks for helping the both of them by finding their little Italian companion. Still. He couldn’t just pop up anytime, and take away his friends like that. No matter how much his red and curly haired friends liked him. And also the other way around.

Rain got himself out of there, practically not able to stand being around the other older male for any longer. He couldn’t bare having another possible competition around Alice, anymore. It seemed that Alice was becoming a target for a lot of males lately, and most of them not even in the Gryffindor house, if any. Was it him, or did the Slytherin guys have something for her? Maybe it was the way that she always says “no” to the boys who’ve never been rejected. Or maybe the different and strange red hair that you could spot in a mob of people in the dark? Who knew. All Rain knew was that the water was getting deeper, and more fish were being caught into the young redhead’s grasp. Rain not being one of them.

Yes, even though he was completely in love with the girl, ever since he met her, she still wouldn’t take the chance to let him show her how he felt. She will never accept them just going on a simple date, or just going out alone. It was always either Fig came, or just telling him… “no”. Like all the other boys she’s rejected. Even if he knew that she and him were the closest of friends, and practically related to each other, but really… Was that what it was? That they were so close to each other, she doesn’t want to tarnish that beautiful relationship, and have to go with the hurt of loosing each other, cutting off all relationships, if something bad were to happen? Rain pondered on this as his swift body ambled down the busy street of Diagon Alley, not quite sure where he was going, his emerald eyes jaded over with a look that said he was completely out of it, and shouldn’t be confronted with.

But when the silver haired male found himself strolling into a shop, the exotic stenches allowing themselves to be known in his nostrils, Rain had felt himself become completely drowned in the strange aurora. All the thoughts and emotions was completely drained, and replaced with an odd feeling of... well, it felt familiar.

His jade eyes casually scanned the contents of the store, and quickly came to realize where he was. Slug and Jiggers, eh? He questioned himself, stunned that he was in such a mood that he didn't even recognize the bizarre, yet intriging contents of potions igrediants in the front. Heaving out a sigh, Rain pushed his fingers against the arch of his nose in between his eyes. Once he had cooled off, his mind had suddenly came back to its normal state. And now that he thought about it, he had acted prety selfish, strange, irritatingly jealous, and stupid, all at the same time. And in front of Alice. And Fig. With their good Ravenclaw friend. He felt a rabid quilt wadd up in his throat, the lump unable to dissappear as he began to just stroll around the aisles, his mind elsewere. How could he? Just up and leave his best friends, just because someone whom he knew could never replace him had popped up out of nowhere. How foolish of him. Childish for a 16 year old. Another sigh, as he turned a corner, but his breath was caught suddenly, along with the lump in his throat. Jade green had caught the long, chocolate colored strands of hair falling off the shoulders. Skylar Martin.

Though he wasn't in the mood to be happy, and it was too late to just forget about his faults, Rain's lips tugged on their own into a brilliant, white smile. If there was one person he wanted to talk to right now, it was Skylar, his woman friend in the Slytherin house whom he enjoyed torturing 1st years with. In one swift movement, Rain had found himself behind his Slytherin friend, a smirk crossing his good-looking facial features.

"Well, well, what have we here?" he attempted at keeping a straight face, the smile dissapearing as he had came toward her, but the monsterous grin had soon escaped upon his lips, and he brought his hand up to tousle her hair, a gesture that he only did to the girls he was either close, or fond of. He gave out a noisy chuckle, "Haha, sorry, sorry. Skylar! Long time, no see." And with that said, the silver haired boy pulled Slylar into a tight embrace, one for a friend, small, less loud laughs coming from him.

It was strange to her, being in there all alone. A chill ran up the young brunettes spine as she continued gazing at some of the bizare things she wouldn't have imagined she'd ever find. What else do I even need? she questioned herself, the thought occuring to her that she already had much of the supplies she needed. All the same, she couldn't help but continuing to slowly make her way to the back, the items increasing in interest as she went along.

It wasn't long until Rain had come up behind her that his voice snaked its way around her, causing her to jump and almost knock something over; she caught it, less she wanted to bend down and pick it up in the small layer of dust that had most likely gathered on the floor of the creepy place. Her fingers quickly placed the item back and she whirled around, her eyes casting themselves on the green of his before she felt his hand ruffling her hair as well. He'd only been there a moment or two and already she felt the familiar feeling he gave her all the time; why did she have to like him?

She laughed, though, nodding her head as she was taken into his embrace; was this normal? "Yes, it has been a long time, Rain!" she esclaimed, her thoughts escaping her, "To what do I owe the plessure of such a greeting?" The words were already out of her mouth before she realized how rude it sounded, and hoped he wouldn't take it personally. But it wasn't really her fault; she'd seen him, after all, with his other friends earlier that day. And yet he was standing there with her now, his arms around her in a gesture she didn't see often. (does he normally hug her?)

In the light of the store, she could tell he seemed the normal Rain she'd gotten to know over six years at hogwarts, torturing the first years, running around and making a rucus. She wasn't sure if she wanted to know what was going on with him, but she was at least glad the other two weren't there. Although they were Rain's friends, she could do very well without them always around; how she found them annoying, how she wanted to do the two in so bad. But on top of that, she wondered where Aiden(:edited: XD thank you el-sama!) was. If he was there, their slytherin 'group', small as it may be, would be complete. But still, she was happy being alone with him.

ll nat-chan! your post looks sooo good >< :feels like an amature: it would seem the lump of writers block has hit me. :/ ll

User ImageUser Image[ A ] n amused grin slipped onto his lips at her reaction as he pulled away from the hug he had so generously offered her, even if he only gave her those tight friendly hugs when he hadn’t seen her in a while, or if he so desired to give her one. It wasn’t unusual, or rare, for Rain to give a hug to her, or anyone in general. Though he was sorted into Slytherin, Rain wasn’t heartless in the least. At least when he’s not in a bad mood. And plus. Why couldn’t he hug his young woman friend? There wasn’t a rule that he couldn’t.

He laughed, before brushing a few strands of silver hair from his jade eyes so he could get a better look at Sky. Her long brown hair fell down upon her shoulders like a waterfall, and her clear skin showed a fresh face that wasn’t tainted at all with the confinement of makeup. Natural. But his most adored feature that his little Slytherin friend possessed were those normal, yet unusual eyes. One was the color of the earth, a rich brown, but the other eye had the same speckled colors, yet had acquired the color of a deep green mixed in. Yes, they were quite stunning in Rain’s own emerald eyes.

“Haha, what are you talking about, Minty? (idk, I thought it would be cute for Rain to give her a nickname :3)” Rain questioned her, giving her a confused smile and chuckle as he scratched the back of his silver head, looking quite dumb. Yes, he had used the nickname he had knighted her with when they had first met, finding that her middle name was quite unique. He used this nickname often, but only to annoy her. And sometimes he would catch himself using it even if he didn’t want to end up in the hospital.

Rain stopped giving her a puzzled look, and replaced it with one that was less confused and out there, as his green eyes scanned around the surrounding area enclosed around them. A sudden question popped up into his head, Rain letting his eyes come back to Sky’s.

“Is Aidan here? I haven’t talked to him since… well… last year at Hogwarts.” Rain was refuring to the other Slytherin he was friends with, though he wasn’t as close as Sky was, even if he was part of their small little first year torturing Slytherin group. Aidan was a companion, one of his male companions in his house that he could speak to whenever he had no one else. Sometimes Rain would get the feeling that the older boy was only using his friendship, which had made him hesitant when it came to telling secrets. But, whatever, Rain had always thought. He didn’t really care.

(( … Sure, they’re friends, right? He can normally hug her. But only ‘cause he hasn’t seem her since, like, last year… I don’t know. xD; ))

A faint blush creeped across her lips, the knowledge of it occuring to her; even if she couldn't see it, she felt the heat in her face rising. He was looking at her that wasn't that unusual, but at the same time she couldn't help but feel that it was different and that she was being examined, if even in the smallest way.

Don't look at me like that! Sky wasn't sure, but she figured that if she had to stand there under such a gaze, with such feelings, rushing through her for more than five minutes, her body would surely give out. At the moment, she felt that her legs were trembling just slightly, but not noticably, her heart was beating uncontrolably- and she'd be suprised if everyone in Diagon Ally couldn't hear it- and she was just finding it hard to be someone normal. Why did he have to make her feel like that? Why couldn't she just be cool and calm, control herself to such an extent that she didn't have to be worried, scared, and trembling because she couldn't handel it.

She tried forcing herself to calm down, taking a concealed deep breath as she watched her male friends thin hand reach up and behind his head, behind his silver hair- which made her suddenly want to run out in the middle of the night just to look at the moon from their small garden- to scratch; he was extremely strange from time to time, she had to admit. But perhaps that was just something else she liked about him? "Don't tease, Rain. Why do you just bound up to me out of no where, after practically giving me a heart attack, just to give me a friendly little hug?" That means absolutely nothing, she added mentally, wishing he could do so much more. But alas, she was at a loss. At least he's not the first person to make me think like this.

Aiden. She'd forgotten about Aiden in the flurry of emotions that had rushed over her; heck, she'd forgotten everything, including where they were, for a few moments. "Aiden... No, I don't know where he is, actually. Why? Do you need him for something, or would like to look for him?" she questioned, wondering what business they had today. Crap! I can't leave, though. Ryan will kill me if I do... and I'm already fried enough for having run off the first time and saying what I did to him... GARRR. CURSE THAT MALE! WHY CAN'T HE JUST JUMP OFF A CLIFF ALREADY?!

ll haha! Got it! I wasn't sure cuz of the other Rain I know.. who's rather heartless? Iunno. Just a little confused, I guess ^^' andandand i love the nickname :3

Oh, I made my font bigger cuz i'm sleepy/going blind momentarily XD so just ignore the bigger font >< ll

Aidan quickly came to a halt as he saw a gleam of silver hair through the window of the apothecary. "Well well well," he said with a smile as he stepped inside and walked briskly toward them, hands in pockets. "What have we here? A gathering of sorts, and I was not invited?" Of course, he was only joking.

He took Skylar, a cute 6th year Slytherin, into his arms in a quick and friendly embrace, and clapped Rain on the back. "How are we, chums?" With a slight pang of guilt he remembered that Rain was Alice's best friend. He knew Rain had a thing for her. It was sort of obvious, the way he acted around her. Rain was about the only true friend Aidan had, and he felt bad for the 'incident' with Alice that had just occurred. But he brushed it off the next second and went on smiling.

Sky was a very good friend also, but Aidan couldn't be quite sure if she was in it for the long haul, or just another one of those people who you'll never see after graduation. Probably the biggest reason Aidan was short on friends was that he didn't act like much of a friend to others. He found it hard to trust people, and when he did, found it even harder to show it. Sky was also about the only Slytherin girl he hadn't ever tried anything with. Sure, she was cute. Beautiful, in fact, but he'd known her much too long. Had she been older when they'd first met, he would've been all over her like pollen on a bee, but as it was, they developed friendship first, and it had remained a platonic relationship because of that fact.

[ "B ] ecause it’s fun,” Rain stated, a smug grin graced upon his features. He had noticed that before, Skylar had turned a shade of red. She obviously had caught him staring at her, relishing in her natural, unusual beauty. It seemed that he’s been doing this for some time, he’s noticed, ever since just around one or two years ago in school. Though, in the beginning, when he first met her in the Slytherin house, he wasn’t attracted to her in the least, only being interested in her for his own entertainment, but had eventually became friends that same year, almost too quickly. He got along with her, but only as friends. Rain had ever once had the thought of them getting together, no matter how much Aidan, or any of his other friends had mentioned about her. They would sometimes tease him, telling the young man things about Skylar that he’d rather not know… like how they catch her staring at him, and that almost everyone knows that she had feelings for him that were past friendship.

“Eh, I just figured he’d be here.” Rain shrugged nonchalantly, before he grinned down at her, “Doesn’t matter. I’m always up for an Aidan-hunt.”

But the familiar voice from the young man in question had came into hearing, and Rain’s grin had widened at the pat on his back from Aidan Reece, his Slytherin, older friend from school, the other third of their little group. “Ah, speak of the Devil. Well, I’m doing… fine. And how are you? Composed, as usual.” he added, crossing his muscular arms across his chest, a small smirk forming on his well formed lips. Though he was happy to see his fellow Slytherin, he also felt something in the back of his mind, that something was wrong with the blonde older boy. Rain, however, threw it away like trash, deciding it wasn’t significant enough for his attention, and continued smirking, unaware of what had occurred to both of his friends a few moments before.

Sky opened her mouth to protest, to explain her dilema, shame creeping over her like a blanket sent to suffocate and trap her where she was. However, as fate would have it, she was saved as she felt another pair of arms wrap around her, not long after she'd heard another voice she knew. "Aiden!" she chirped, her appearance becoming happy once again, from the feelings that she had subcomed to a moment before.

"We were just about to come to find you!" she stated, swaying on the spot for a moment, for no apparent reason what-so-ever; she was just happy to see him. And, as she gazed at the male standing in front of her, she realized that she didn't know why she was so happy. She just knew she was, as she stared at the golden locks falling upon the boys face, a face she'd known for six(?) years. Perhaps she was happy to see him more so than she had been with Rain, only because she knew there was nothing to fear around Aiden as there was around Rain. Then again, they were just two different people completely... what was she thinking exactly?

Either way, she was able to hide her inability to leave the area, now with Aiden in their presence. Hopefully they would not have to go anywhere, and hopefully nothing would happen. If anything, she would just have to explain, as she'd been about to, the whole story. Wait... did I tell them Ryan was my brother? As hateful as those words may be, she pondered, the memory of such events suddenly escaping her (Did i tell them? :forgot smile .

"About to come find me?" he asked, interested. "Well I suppose you would never have thought to have looked in the bookstore, would you?" He laughed. They knew he didn't read. Everyone did. He could, of course, and quite well, but he didn't enjoy it in the least.

"What have you fellas been up to?" he asked. Despite Sky's gender, he always called them fellows, or boys, gents, lads, or any other thing. They were his pals, and he didn't need to be gender-specific while speaking with the both of them. Besides, he thought Skylar would probably get mad at him for suggesting she was anything like a 'lady.'

She was yet another girl he was slightly afraid of. Not in a bad way, just in a way that he'd never want to cross her. She'd fight him like a man, alright. The other woman who scared him at the moment...well that was obviously Alice. He couldn't help but think of the way he'd felt there with her in that moment. Hard to describe. Certainly something like caring, but it had a bit of hate mixed in with it. Was that it? That he loved to hate her? 'Or do I hate to love her...' he thought. A chill ran up his spine at the thought of loving Alice. Certainly he couldn't like her that much.

[ sorry this took me so long. fixing aidan's profile, then my friend called me and went on and on and on and i can't write and listen at the same time :[

and it's alright. i think i have permanent writer's block...it's amazing i get out what i do. :/

"Yes! Well, it was a little strange not having you here, I guess... I don't know. It was Rain who asked first," the young Slytherin shrugged to her senior, her deep mud-colored hair falling over her shoulders, presenting itself rather than hiding behind her, not really sure why they were going to find him; sure, Aiden was a friend of theres, but why had they been about to leave? However, hearing that he was in the bookstore, she couldn't help but laugh.

"Why, in your right mind, were you in the bookstore? I can't imagine you being in there... unless, perhaps, there was something for you to gain while you were there?" she pushed, her voice low and almost menicing, her eyes flashing with a dangerous shine, a sinister and perhaps even murderous (somehow) look; it wasn't that she wanted to kill someone, heavans no, but rather that she wanted to know what this little pray that he'd found had been. After all, it was rare to see Aiden with a book, but even more so in a bookstore.

She didn't allow herself to drop the face she'd put on, but moved on to the other topic, making a note to return to this one, even if she had to corner him alone. She was strange like that, wanting to know what new torment may occur. "We haven't been up to anything... not really, anyway. I must say, though, shopping for the school year is quite bothersome. Always seems to give me a headache, finding all this new stuff," she answered, a slick smile curled on her lips, her voice soft and silky, as though she was trying to seduce the answer she'd wanted out of him yet still, though it was lined with the sharp edges of the knowledge she still desired.

[ “W ] hy would we?” Rain questioned his male friend, observing him with intrigued jade eyes, as he leaned against a wooden shelf behind him, “Of course we wouldn’t look there; you hate to read. In fact, sometimes I wonder if you can read.” A light chuckle came from him, but it was darker than usual. When Aidan had mentioned something about a bookstore, he obviously meant Flourish and Blott’s, the place where the silver haired boy was before in this dimly lit, strange-smelling shop. And Aidan wasn’t there when Rain had left, meaning he had popped in there, if he had been there, after his departure. Which triggered some thoughts to his ever running mind. Alice and Fig was there. And so was that Ravenclaw threat. But Rain knew that Aidan wasn’t one to pass up an opportunity with a young, beautiful girl. Young beautiful girl = Alice.

Rain knew from the past that Aidan had sort of a thing for Alice, even if he never really showed it. He would just casually bring her up, Skylar scowling in the process of the subject. Rain wasn’t sure if Aidan really did like his little redhead best friend. It was strange, though. Rain arched an eyebrow at Aidan, the smile lessening somewhat, but was still placed there, as a sudden question came to mind.

“Now, what were you doing in a bookshop, hmm? … Just a thought, sorry,” Rain shook his head as a few strands of silver hair came into his emerald eyes, “Well, I just came in and found Minty, here, wandering around, after I left Flourish and Blott’s. And then you showed up. What about you? What have you been up to, Aidan?” There was a slight hint of humor in Rain’s smooth voice, but also aggression, pressuring his friend into telling him why was in Flourish and Blott’s after he had left, having the perfect chance to antagonize his two other friends. And more so his redheaded girl friend, who Rain knew to have a crush on his blonde Slytherin friend, despite the opposite houses.

FLASHBACK Rain’s POV 1 Year Ago, Alice 14, Rain 15

“Red… I’ve come to realize that whenever Aidan’s around, you seem to be more flirtatious that usual. Should I be aware of something going on between you two?” I observed her stunned blue eyes and blushing cheeks, watching as she reacted to my question. Alice gave me a glare, pout, and then looked away out at the great lake all in one second, something she did to me quite often. She’s so temperamental!

“NO, we don’t have a “thing”, Larky; why would you think of such a thing?” She replied to me. Alice was obviously now pissed off at me, which was fine, because I knew she would get over it anyway… soon enough. It wasn’t unusual for me to question her about boys she likes. I usually do it on a regular basis, actually. And I think it’s been getting on her nerves. But no matter. I was simply curious into her interests. Plus, it gave me an excuse to add more people to the list of young men to castrate if I dare find out they’ve touched her. But if Alice had feelings for Aidan, my good friend in Slytherin… well, that would certainly put a damper on my plans and relationships.

“Are you sure you don’t like him?” I continued on, my words being hinted with tease, and yet I was being serious.

“… Yep.”

And that’s what she up and left me, walking back up to the castle.

END FLASHBACK

Rain wasn’t sure if Alice was lying to him or not, and he wouldn’t be surprised if she was. But he had never came to questioning Aidan if he liked Alice or not… maybe it was time for him to get his facts straight between the two.

Rain gave a small glance in Skylar's direction. An amused grin came across his lips, showing a long long of straight, white teeth that looked almost scary. She was trying to suduce answers from Aidan. How entertaining.

His eyes flicked toward Rain and back away in an instant as he pictured the scene in his head for the thousandth time. He couldn't give it away, couldn't hurt Rain by speaking of the scene in front of him. He grinned mischeviously. "Well wouldn't you like to know? Let's just say that I did find something of interest while I was there... And it was not a book."

Why did he mind just saying it outright? Alice would probably tell Rain all about it later on. Rain might just end up hating Aidan for it. Alice was Rain's girl. Even if it wasn't 'officially' established, everyone knew she was his. Would Rain throw away Aidan's friendship for Alice's dignity?

For about the tenth time that day, Aidan ran his fingers through his blonde hair and let a long breath out of his lungs. "So you'd just left Flourish & Blotts, eh Rain? Interesting." He thought for a moment, choosing his words carefully. He didn't want to seem like he was hiding things from his friends. "Well, that makes sense. I saw your little Gryffindor friends in there, along with-ugh, what's his name? That ravenclaw guy who's got a thing for Alice. And this really adorable little girl, probably going to be a first year this year. Though, she doesn't quite look like Slytherin material." Never would he have guessed that the beautiful little girl was a Malfoy.

Sky bit her lip for a moment, wondering what else she could do. She really wanted to know what had happened at the bookstore, and the two of them had some idea, if not the whole story, of what happened; she was the only one left out. And it was rather strange, tense even, with the words laying a heavy atmosphere upon them moment by moment.

"Come now, come now," she said softly, shaking her head as she pushed her hair behind her shoulder again, "Tell us what you found there, Aiden. No need to be shy, after all." Skylar allowed her eyes to fall upon the blonde infront of her, tiltiner her head to her right slightly, as though to add to the quizical look. Surely it's not that bad... or perhaps it is? In which case, all the more I want to know!

At this point, she was bascially ignoring Rain since it seemed to be him who was causing such hesitation. After all, if it didn't have at least a little to do with the silver haired male, then he wouldn't be pushing like this; he wouldn't to know just as bad as she; and not only that, but there was something in the way they were mentioning their whereabouts at the bookstore at around the same time. What wicked little thing has stired up here? And to mention Alice... that little wrench that I would enjoy to strangle one day... Such events and people conjugating around such a strange place was nothing more than a wonderful omen looming over them all, and she wanted to know what the barings were; she wanted to know how things would end up, to know exactly the new game that had suddenly been laid out before them.
