My story...
I am not diabetic, my father is. He's a type 1, which you should know is the worst kind you can get. With type 2 your pancreas is still working, just not up to par... with type 1 it's pretty much dead. It doesn't work at all. It just sits there... stupid T-Cells.
Well, my dad was diagnosed when I was 3-months old and he went downhill pretty fast, so I have never been allowed to know my dad as the man he really is. All I know is the sick, feeble man who can't stand without the urge to cry from pain. I am the oldest of three children, so my two siblings have less of him than I do.
There is nothing that will ever cure him... no way to ease his pain and suffering.
My life's purpose is to watch my father die horribly with no way to help him...

*hugs* I was really sad to hear your dad's story.
I think that girl on that one forum was just being a rude b***h. She will never be allowed in, unless she apologizes to you.

None of my family has got diabetes except for me and my Grand-Uncle(?)

I'm so sorry- that's so sad for you and your family. Isn't there any medicine that can help him? His diabetes has caused other health problems?

*BEAR HUG* I have almost the same story. My father had type 1 diabetes (like me) before I was born. I think he was 11 or 12 when he was dianosed. He didn't take care of it when he was in his late teens, plus he did a tone of drugs, which led to his blindness and a host of other health issues. He was almost toatlly blind when I was 6. My mother and father divorced when I was 2, but I didn't see him much until I was 6. I stayed with him every school break from then until I was 10. They were happy times, but I knew that my father was really ill. Then when I was 10, he died. I was devastated. I am still sad about it, but I know he is watching me.

My dad had type one diabetes starting in later life. He also develped other diseases, including blood clots in his brain. He died at home with his family around him three days after hurricane Rita.
