Er...You put "John Bonham" instead of "John Entwistle".
I think John Paul Jones is overrated, to be honest. The Ox was awesome, though. I don't know if he was better than Geddy. I mean, Geddy had to sing, too, so it's a bit unfair...

I am a big The Who and Zeppelin fan, and although both John's were decent, they are not at the same level Geddy's at.

Man I honestly can't decide. It's pretty much a 3 way tie.

Yeah, that's was really good. I love soul jazz. Here's another great bass part. Also an amazing electric part and decent drumming too. It's a different genre, 80's metal, but it's still good. This is racer x's scarified ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPGA3vjMLgE&feature=relatedOh, just to let you know, it isn't racer x doing it, nor paul gilbert (he does the intro though...). But it's basically the same and it's the best quality I could find (it's studio so...).

Kind of a sacred cow, but he was indeed up there.

I honestly think that Geddy Lee has them all beat. He has to play bass and keyboard and sing. He has more talent than the rest. heart heart heart

Musically speaking, I agree. But then again, I've been told that by now my word isn't worth much because I'm totally Rush biased, Seth'll tell you.

I love John Paul Jones' playing, but he sure as hell doesn't have Geddy's spirit on stage. He was always hiding in the shadows... it's almost like he created the "bassists are useless" stereotype. sad

My favorite is John Entwistle. Another amazing bassist is Les Claypool of Primus. I know Primus can't touch The Who, Rush, or Zeppelin but he's so talented.
