When I'm in this world, this simple one bedroom, one bathroom apartment is where I stay. There's a living room and a kitchen, and its quite nice. I usually stay in luxury, for some reason or another it seems to help me being a diplomat. *shrugs* I'll take what I can get. Its elegant and has a terrace with a lookout over water.
I don't have a television, but I do have a computer in this world. I sometimes play games online, but its usually for paperwork. I have a bookshelf nearby my desk with political books among other things and the desk itself has compartments for the many files that I work on while I'm here, its a nice escape from home, I do believe, and no agents of the Dawn or rival politicians from home usually find me. Its a nice and quiet place to work, and I can do detective work on the side in this world at times.
I do miss friends from home while here, but they come to visit. My primary purpose though really is to make sure Chris Talespinner is all right, and if she ever needs a place to go, this place is open for her, be it to hide or to just get some quiet. I do know that I'll be having others stop by to visit...but that can be for a later time.

Katiana arrived home quite late that night, she hadn't meant to be up that late, however she'd been looking into Chris's place of work and how she was doing there. The ladies that worked there were more than happy to fill her in on Chris, she was a wonderful woman who was good with the children, and had an imagination a mile wide, and the magic she did was pretty and sometimes even very useful, especially when cleaning up small messes.
She had also looked into the political office where Chris wrote the occasional speech, but they didn't know her as well there, only that she wrote damned good speeches and wanted to keep her writing more. Katiana figured that Chris was probably happiest at the library.
She set her things down on the table and lay down on the couch. She had heard about Chris's injury and had worried a little, but she knew the little bard would be okay.
She was curious about her boyfriend, as Chris probably wouldn't be entirely happy with just a simple guy, no, this one was probably something special, perhaps as eccentric as she was? She chuckled to herself thinking about it. She'd have a lot to report back next time she went home, Chris's grandmother wanted to know her granddaughter was doing all right.

--March 13th, 2008--
Chris was over at Katiana's. Wasn't anything unusual, when Katiana was in town, Chris didn't mind spending time with the rogue. She was kind of her mentor after all.
"So, how was Greyhawk?" Katiana asked. "Haven't been there before myself, but I've heard stories."
"They have all those stupid weapon laws...though I really never went into Greyhawk city directly," Chris explained. The bard had recently returned from an adventure and Katiana wanted to know all about it. The letter apparently just didn't do justice from the look on Chris's face. That and the big brass key that Chris now clung to was something else.
"Ah, this time it was on the outskirts?" she asked.
Chris nodded. "We were supposed to go find this one pendant, called the Heart's Desire. A bunch of people wanted it..." she started going into the long winded explanation of meeting an aspect of Graz'zt, fighting off various undead, doing extremely well with fighting, and feeling very useful to the party, as well as her taking the key and feeling very warm about it now being a Lesser Artifact of Dalt and all.

"Sounds like quite a tale," Katiana said with a smile, then she took a more concerned look and sighed. "Listen, Chris, I'm going to Highfolk for a while this weekend. I don't know how it'll be what with how things are, but I made a few promises to come back, so its not like I'll be leaving you or anything anytime soon."
"You're a diplomat, you have to do your stuff there, you do it really well," Chris said with a smile.
Katiana grinned. Chris was so simple at times. "I know, I do what I do and I do it well. Just with everything going on, if I come back a little different..."
"You're not evil Lady Katiana!" Chris said, jumping up out of her seat. "You're not! Stop thinking that!"
"I know, Aoi helped me figure that out a while ago. You've been away a while Chris, things've been happening," Katiana said, and proceeded to tell her about various going ons in the office. Except for the fact the whole office was trying to get her laid. She didn't know how the bard would handle it. She avoided getting news on the date, Chris seemed a bit to excited to be talking about anything else but her Greyhawk trip...or she'd learned that not all things need to be known to everyone? Nah, it was the former, had to be. The bard hardly shut up.
"I see, that's a lot that's going down," Chris said. "Sir Legion has a fox form?"
"I can't believe you've never seen it," Katiana said. "Goodness, you'd find it quite cute. No doubt he'd have to be rescued because you'd try to kidnap him."
"No I wouldn't!" she exclaimed, though it really was only a half truth. If Sir Legion really was that cute, of course she'd try to kidnap him. He'd be better and more fun around the house maybe other than that giant pickle she'd seen at the office.
Katiana sighed and tousled the ribboned head a little. "You're to cute Chris. Never loose that smile eh?" Her smile for a moment, looked sad, not that the bard would notice.
"I always have a reason to smile 'cause I'm the luckiest bard in the world," she said. With Sir Donovan, her friends at the office, and her friends from home like Lady Katiana, how could she be anything but?

"Yes, yes you are," Katiana said. "Say...out of curiosity, what would you like for your birthday?"
"My birthday? Oh, that's right, you helped me figure out the date for it here. Well, I can't really think of anything I'd want, I really already have everything I need," she said with a nod.
"Your apartment is kinda sparse though," Katiana pointed out. She didn't tell her about the other gifts, those were meant to be a surprise after all. "Might have to get some furniture..."
"Oh right! I could use a table," she said. "Though I have a lot of cooking equipment now..."
"Need anything else? Wouldn't you prefer a bed to a bedroll?" Katiana asked. Sure, the rogue was only doing her part in the attempt to get her laid once she found out. Little things here and there. Though come to think of it, Katiana probably could stand to get laid too. Diplomatic work was hard and she the need to get laid, but she wasn't about to tell ANYONE that. Especially the bard. She'd tell everyone. She chuckled at that though.
"A real soft bed and blankets?" Chris asked dreamily. For someone who never had a real bed of her own, it would be a dream come true to have a bed of her own.
"Yup, I know a place that makes good ones too," Katiana said. "When I get back, and after your birthday, we'll go out on a day and get you things. I know a few bookstores we can hit too..."
"REALLY? YAY!" she hugged Lady Katiana tightly. "I'd really appreciate that."
"I thought you would," Katiana replied with a laugh. "Now, are you staying the night tonight or should I walk you home?"
"I'll stay," Chris said. "Who knows when I'll see you again, you know?" Bard had a point.
"All right, I'll take you out to breakfast in the morning and walk you to work then eh? Or do you still have the rest of this week off?" she asked.
"Nu-uh. I go back as soon as I got back," she said. "So breakfast then work sounds good. I can't wait to get back to the library and researching more about this world on my breaks!"
"No, I bet you can't," Katiana replied. "All right now, you get the shower first, then bed. You need more sleep than I do hun."
"I know Lady Katiana," Chris said, releasing her from the hug and then bowing. "Warm shower...missed that a bit too."
"You smell like the road love, but that's a good smell on you," Katiana said with a smile. Love, hun, all terms of endearment to Katiana. She'd call more people those names if she knew better how they'd take to it.
"Thanks," Chris said. "Well, g'night Lady Katiana." She gave the elf another hug before running towards the bathroom, only briefly remembering to deposit her equipment outside the bathroom before shutting the door behind her.
"Yep, night little bard," Katiana said. She'd be hitting the hay shortly herself. She went to the kitchen and pulled out a leftover sandwich, polished it off and went to her bed and plopped down on it. She was already asleep by the time Chris was done with her shower.

--March 17th, 2008-- Katiana returned home with a sigh, putting her coat on its hook and going to collapse on the couch. What was wrong with her? It was like she liked Legion that way or anything. She did enjoy his company...that had to be it, she'd just miss it, that's all. Ack...Aoi...if she was still plotting something about hooking them up, it just wasn't going to work. Katiana certainly didn't want to date anyone who was just going to disappear on her in the end. Lilith... created Legion to be with her, and it just wasn't working out it seemed. You think she'd learn after a while. She probably wouldn't be returning to the office for a few days. She...she had work to do. And she needed to sort things out now. If she did have a crush on Legion, even a little, it didn't matter anymore. She'd act on nothing, because there was nothing to act on. It did hurt, just a little bit, that he was going to disappear in the end. But there was nothing she could do about it. "Not even a wish or miracle spell," she said with a sigh. She adjusted herself on the couch a little and picked up some papers from a pile to read. She had work to do, she had to keep herself busy. Less time to think on other things and more work. Lots more work.

Dinner, food would be good. She had to eat something. Getting sick or unhealthy wouldn't help her in the least. She opened up the fridge, pulled out some salad mix and French dressing, cut up some chicken and some sharp brick cheddar and made a salad and sat at her small kitchen table eating for a while, though she still had some papers to read over while she did it.
Diplomacy was hard, but paperwork was probably the most time consuming part of it. At least she'd done some good escorting the one Dwarf ancestor to see the Goliaths.

Ah, another job interview in the morning. She might as well try to get some sleep before the night ended. She only needed four hours after all of it. She sighed, sticking her dishes in the sink for when she woke up and headed to take a shower and then hit the hay on her bed.
She found herself smiling as she took a shower. She shouldn't be thinking about getting involved with anyone anyways, there was to much to do in Highfolk, she was more involved with her work than she could be with anyone else. It stung a little bit, and probably would take some time moving past...but still. She should be fine, right? She was a strong woman.

--March 18th, 2008-- Katiana didn't mind paperwork, except when it was someone stupid saying that certain beings or entities were not responsible for the slaughter of many innocent people. She found that a load of idiocy and ultimate blindness. Yeah, its not the deity who kills people, its the ones that work for the deity that kill people. Anyone who said that was a complete and total fool. Not to mention a great deal of denial. Worship the Dawn as they did...it would be their undoing in the end. She would not be partial to slaughter. No good or even neutral deity she knew of would ever want to slay those that did not follow them. That was something only evil beings did.

--March 20th, 2008-- Katiana was planning on visiting Pie in the morning at the cafe to arrange the necessary things for Chris's birthday celebration. And with Yuko offering to help, things were going pretty well. She was doing good at keeping busy, and not seeing Legion for a short while helped that too. It was sad though, that he and Chris were usually her only guests, it did get lonely here by herself at times, the apartment was rather large. Salary of a politician was fairly large. She wasn't going to meditate tonight, way to tired for that. Full night's sleep, eight hours sounded good. Best to be at her best in the morning after all. "Let me tell you the tale, of the dragon's three sons..." she trailed off singing as she looked over a district report. Another theft. She sighed and started filling it out with the necesary things. She needed another hobby, watching over Chris didn't count or just to get laid. Way overworked Katiana was getting way overworked.

--April 1st, 2008-- Katiana would make it home easily, and set things up for breakfast in the morning, premaking the batter and putting it in the fridge, as well as taking the bacon and sticking it in the fridge as well from the freezer so it would thaw out by morning. She'd pick Legion out of the basket gently and carry him into the bedroom, setting him on a pillow as she'd shower and get ready for the next day. She'd come back in her green PJs and curl up on the bed, keeping Legion close as she normally would. He was soft and most snuggly in this form. With thoughts leaving her mind for the night, she'd drift to sleep. Sleep was good.

--April 19th, 2008-- It was late when Chris made it over to Lady Katiana's apartment. She was sick so Chris wanted to help take care of her. She could make soup well enough, or at least follow Lady Katiana's instructions well enough to heat it up. "How are you feeling Lady Katiana?" she asked. She wouldn't be able to see the red splotches from popped blood vessels on her face, when Lady Katiana had been throwing up rather violently the night before. The hat of disguise stopped that. "I'm feeling better Chris," she said with a cough before blowing out her nose. She was on the couch reading a book at the current time. "Can I make you some soup?" Chris asked. "That would be lovely," Lady Katiana replied. "There's a bowl in the fridge, just use the microwave hun." "I'm glad you're getting better. I bet you'd worry Sir Legion if you didn't," she said, going to the fridge and getting out the bowl of soup to heat up. "He's the one that told me to rest, so I rest," she replied with a smile. She informed Lady Katiana about her day, sharing stories of what was going on as she heated up the soup and brought it out for Lady Katiana. She seemed to listen intently to Chris's words and Chris sang a bit for her too, practicing some of the new music she was writing. "Oh, I've been meaning to ask you hun," Lady Katiana said when Chris had finished her song. "How is that couch working out for you?" "Its very comfortable. I sleep on my bedroll...though a few nights...I have fallen asleep on the couch," she said with a smile. "That's good," she said. "And it sounds like you're working hard on your bardic training now, even moreso now that you've gotten into the Riverwalk Society." "I have! I can't wait to tell Sir Donovan, I'm sure he'll be happy for me too!" she said. "Everyone else has been so far." Lady Katiana laughed and coughed a bit. "That's great Chris, that really is. Just keep singing, music is your way."

"It really is isn't it?" Chris asked with a smile. "I'm happy about it!"
"What would you say if I were to get into music a bit there eh?" Lady Katiana asked. "Perhaps sing, or learn how to perform great orations or speeches?"
"You? A bard? I think you'd make a wonderful bard Lady Katiana!" Chris said. "You're so thoughtful, your words would reach lots of people! I'm sure of it."
"Your music does more than I think my words could ever do," Lady Katiana said. "Your voice has so much power and commands so much, you don't even know it yet."
Chris's hands raised to her lips as she blushed a bit, trying to hide it without much success. "You think so? I'd hope so, I try so hard. My music is meant for everyone. I hope Dalt appreciates it as well."
"Dalt appreciates anything you do hun," Lady Katiana said, finally remembering she had soup and eating it. Between her bites she smiled. "I wish I was so sure in my faith as you."
"Faith may not be meant for everyone. Only clerics and paladins need to be certain of who they worship really," she said, one hand scratching the back of other as she smiled sheepishly. "I'm only certain...because I found the key, and I've always felt Dalt watching over me."
"He is. Why would he let such a sweet bard like you not be watched over?" Lady Katiana asked. "I do worship him as well, though...my 'attention' is divided..."
"He understands. How could he not? You made your choices in what you thought was best, so that you could do what it was you needed to do and protect people to the best of your ability," Chris said.
"Its never black and white is it?" Lady Katiana asked. "Never has been never will be I suppose." She smiled. "Chris, I just want you to know, I'm happy...very happy I met you."
"I'm happy I met you too Lady Katiana," Chris said. "I'm happy I got to meet everyone!" Lady Katiana smiled at the girl's eager face, her happy tone. She was that happy once, and hoped to be one day again. She finished her soup and set the bowl down.
"Its getting late dear, I think its time for us to retire. You need more sleep than I do," Lady Katiana said with a cough, blowing her nose harshly once more.
"You need just as much if not more because you're sick," Chris pointed out.
Lady Katiana smiled. "You're right," she said. "How could I be so stupid?" She let herself laugh a bit, even though she ended up coughing afterwards.
"And soon, you'll be back on your feet," Chris said. "And we'll see Sir Donovan and the others again!"
"You're right," Lady Katiana said. "You have a good way of putting things, simple as it is."
Chris smiled. "Let's get you to bed! Tomorrow is another day!" Lady Katiana smiled and let Chris take her to bed. Chris was right of course, tomorrow was another day.

Katiana was up this morning feeling really good. She'd probably go to the office later if she was really feeling up to it. She pulled out a crockpot and set to chopping up a few things here and there. She was going to make a pretty hearty soup and share it if she went in. Split Pea with Ham. She'd gotten a ham hock a while ago and she was more than ready to use it.
It was going to be a good day and a good soup.
