So. I'm new to the guild. I figured, what better way to introduce yourself than create a megapost ( It's not for the faint of heart. Turn back now and leave me to my ramblings! sweatdrop ) on everyone's favorite topic of discussion - pairings. twisted
My post here is more about who I think Zuko will really end up with, not who I'd prefer, but there's a hint of that in there as well. wink Once again, these are just theories! I actually like some of the pairings I don't think will work logically. No murdering of the Saraii, please!
And no, I'm not actually taking bets.
Here's my theories on the various Zuko pairings:
1) Tales of...dang it, I can't spell it...Ba Sing Sei wasn't written by the usual people, correct? That particular story was written by the same woman who wrote The Beach. You know, when Azula went on a volleyball power craze? I'm not saying I didn't find that episode hilarious, but she doesn't portray them quite the same. And as she proved later in the same episode, she likes romantic interaction, even if it is a oneshot character. Thus, Jin is no more.

2) Awhile ago I heard that Mike and Bryan said that Katara wouldn't end up with Zuko. Then they suddenly started hinting at competition between Aang and him in Nick magazine and such. I think they probably realized what a fandom thing it had become, and wanted to add fuel to the fire. Thus, the Crystal Catacombs incident. I also think that there'll be some romantic tension later, but will end in Kataang, as it would be incredibly random to have the feelings they showed so prominently during the invasion change all of a sudden.

3) I'll admit, I was a steadfast Zong shipper for quite some time. Then I realized...Song hadn't come back! gonk I think this is the same situation as Jin, although that episode was written by the regular crew. You never know, and I would love it if they brought her back, but I don't think they will. No actual proof here, just a feeling.

4) Pairing Toph with Zuko...well, some people think of it as *****. But when you think about marriage arrangments in that sort of society, the age differences usually spanned a lot more. Plus, they both understand parental rejection, and their tempers certainly balance each other out. No way it'll happen, but it's fun to play around with.

5) Ah, Azula. An amazing antagonist. But pairing her with Zuko...well, besides the fact that I'm not one for incest, this is Nickelodeon. No offense to shippers, but I hope no one seriously expects this to happen, 'cause they'll be sorely disappointed.

6) Mai has showed obvious affection for Zuko from the point we met her. I for one like them together, but I know a lot of people aren't amused by Mai's indifference to the world. What I like about them is that he brings out actual emotion in her. Granted, it's not as fun or dramatic as some other pairings, but my bet is on Maiko for the ending pairing, simply because of their background and heritage.

either Mai or someone we havent met.
if you find the 'more season 3 goodies' thread, theres a link to avatarspirit.net and pictures of a possible epilogue in which Mai n Zuko are older and have a young boy
so yeah. lol. i remember supporting Zong and then Jinko whee

Oh, she was in an episode...sometime right before Zuko Alone, I think. Zuko and Uncle stayed with her and her mom, and she was very sympathetic and seemed to understand that Zuko had been troubled by something for a long time. She was so nice, and then he went and stole her ostrich horse. ;_; But she saw him do it, and still let him.

I still can't find a good pair to Zuko....katara is already aang's rolleyes
may is way too boring
Song and jin only apear in one episode.....
and the other ones....plz¬¬
maybe tai lee....but she likes sokkaXD

Fire Lord Craig Zuko will definately be with Katara in the end! I think there's more of a chance of him getting together with AZULA then there is of Katara/Zuko. I mean, come on? I NEVER understood the whole obsession with them two. And the Crystal Catacombs episode just made me angry because all it did was give Zuko/Katara fans even more 'possible relationship hints.' Fyi, the fire and water whips are NOT shaped like HEARTS! And even if they somewhat resemble a heart, it's mere COINCIDENCE. /rant In all honesty, I'd root for Toph, but it would feel weird because she's the shortest and he'd just tower over her and they would fight a LOT. Infact, Im excited now that he's in the group because I wanna see them go at it (....I mean fight, pervs). So, it's definately going to be someone we haven't met yet. UNLESS Jin comes back somehow or Song (though doubtful). I really liked Jin. Idk why. Wouldn't it be a real kick in the face for Sokka if he ended up with Suki?

I vote Mai, even though her name was spelled wrong in the poll. xD But, seriously, besides the fact that it's a canon pair, Mai obviously has a connection with Zuko, and visa verse. Zuko doesn't need Katara to "heal him" in whatever sense of the phrase, he needs Mai who basically tells him to stop sulking and angsting and to take a look at the world around him, at the big picture.
