I Am

I am on the brink of saying no,
yet I'm on the brink of letting go.
This is the life of opposites that wraps me
up in bright paper and tops it with a bow
to only hand me straight back to you.
I'm am the queen of opposites of moments
done in reverse only to be done forward again.
I'm the woman who watched the thousands die
to only rescue a few from the piles of tragedy,
my soldiers of a war, a battle that hasn't begun,
the war that only the valiant can fight.
I am the slayer of hearts in my same cause;
their scarlet blood drips on my hands as smile
spreads like a famine devouring a nation
across my pale ashen faces.
I am the temptress who steals a husband
from his marriage bed on the honeymoon night.
I am the plane that takes a father of four
to foreign lands to die for a cause
that his children will never understand.
I am the fairy tales told to a girl to build her confidence
before her date arrives, a date that will crush
her pulsing heart in the palm of his hand
with a single word of pure venom from his lips.
I am the friends that comfort her with continuous lies of
"It had nothing to do with you", "It is his loss."
I am many things dark, but I am always true.

To be honest, I'm not sure.
I think she is death, but I've been trying to figure it out.....
This is one of those creepy writings that happened without me really thing about it.
One of the ones that I honestly didn't know how to place or even what it was about.... but I think she is death.
