If I'd allowed myself I'd probably have had an accident if I didn't stifle my laughter.
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=9801981146 I joined. I just couldn't resist. The FAQ's flipping funny, and the fact it's made it to the news!
MSN News Sky News!!!CARROTS FOR EVERYONE!!!Sky News However, the idea has also caught the attention of critics, who say it is irresponsible to deprive shoppers of the "orangey goodness of everyone's favourite vegetable". The opposing Facebook group "Don't add to world hunger, don't panic-buy carrots" has attracted just 29 members. MSN News More than 60,000 people from an online group have pledged to swarm supermarkets and buy out their supply of carrots in one day in a bizarre mission labeled "impossible" by vegetable growers. The "On May 15th 2008, everybody needs to go out and panic buy CARROTS" Facebook group was created earlier this month in London and now attracts more than 10,000 members a day — many of them Australian.

Panic buying carrots is a bad thing! Think of all those poor little starving rabbits out there in the world!

Is he not glorious? And such a sweetie... he's got a great sense of humour, if you wear velcro-closure sneakers around him, he grabs the closures in his lips and rips them open because he likes the sound. smile He also unties other shoes, and tries to nibble your clothing. He's very funny--and very loving. And WHAT a great horse to ride.... smile He's half Connemara and half Foundation Quarter Horse, and he'll be eight in April.
He is my darling... smile

Nice to see a pic finally of you Jasta.
And erm...maybe we should have a distinct "pets" thread. This one's about panic buying carrots and how amusing the idea is - especially seeing as newsreaders have taken it so seriously by publishing it!

Hey Jasta, that's a really cool horse you got there. I better not let my mom see that picture otherwise she's gonna turn green with envy. As you can imagine she adores horses to death. 3nodding I bet it can eat lots of carrots, huh? Yer very lucky to have it. wink

He-he, I s'pose yer right Mel. I just couldn't think of anything at the moment. What should we discuss anyway? Oh I know! How about the way we prefer to eat a carrot?
I, for one, much rather to have a carrot that feels most natural. And by this I mean that I dislike the way a carrot feels after being added in a soup cuz it's all soggy. I prefer to eat carrots in slices, kinda like the way you find them on salads or whatever. Though I'm not a big fan of salads anyway... rolleyes

I've not really had carrots in many interesting ways. Only boiled, steamed, stir-fried and in tinned soups. *Sets reminder - need to make parents more adventurous. Sets second reminder - learn how to do these things yourself too Mel.*
It's sad but true...I can't really cook. The last time I tried to cook a fry up, mum and dad came home to a fog in the kitchen and lounge (we have a bungalow with no hallway). It was like that layer of smoke you get in pubs/clubs above everyone's heads. redface
I have done better since, but I don't often try.

Cooking can be lots of fun!
Here's a place where you can get inspiration:
http://www.carrotrecipes.net/
No fooling... a plain, vanilla site for carrot recipes. smile Whot ya see be whot ya gets.... I can highly recommend the carrot bread. YUM! The marmelade is good too, but it's rather a tricky, advanced recipe.
