I'm a 7th Sea nut. And I'm looking for other people who enjoy the world, its set in a sort of alternate universe of Renaissance Europe around 1668 which may be around the end of the Renaissance and more toward the Age of Enlightenment, I'm not sure >.<;;

Say, are you talking about a book, an RP or what exactly? I don't think I've heard about this before so, I ask... mrgreen I like the ovean but I don't exactly love it, if you know what I mean. That's why I'm not too into tall ships and stuff like that. sweatdrop

I've got a couple characters in it, though I hardly ever get to play the system with my group.
Old 2d10 system or the newer d20 Swashbuckling Adventures?

I haven't played the d20 system! JastaElf This sounds fascinating--we should get a game together! smile And yay! whee whee whee We should totally start a game together ... hmm, there are a few websites you can look into to find out about the world if you don't know much about it ... a few I suggest are http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7th_Sea_(role-playing_game) http://www.crystalkeep.com/7thsea/index.php http://www.swashbucklingadv.com/rules/ http://www.tlucretius.net/7thSea/index.htm http://members.cox.net/piratefortheus/timeline.html http://www.confusticate.com/~walker/7thsea/ http://www.confusticate.com/~tisfan/7thSea/linksindex.html http://silver-gateway.com/7sea/7thsealinks.html http://www.geocities.com/draeven57/valor.html I'm sure there are more but this is enough for now .... for starters ...

Hey Arisu? Do you think this 7th Sea game could be released for a gaming system such as the PSP or the Nintendo DS?

hypnocrown Do you think this 7th Sea game could be released for a gaming system such as the PSP or the Nintendo DS? Just to chime in... I suppose it would be possible to adapt it to a game console in the same way D&D was adapted to the PC for Neverwinter Nights. I'm not sure how much of the 7th Sea flavor would be preserved, though, since the rules include bonuses for attempted really creative and flashy swashbuckling stuff. It would take one hell of an engine to deal with a player who wants to grab a pair of buckets sitting by the side of the road and use them as brawling weapons, for instance. Berz.

Hmm, then maybe the Nintendo DS or even the Wii could be best suited for this game. After all, with the Wii you can make motions and hand gestures and mimic the actions that you would in real life. And with the Nintendo DS you can touch the things you want to interact with.

hypnocrown Hey Arisu? Do you think this 7th Sea game could be released for a gaming system such as the PSP or the Nintendo DS? Huh, good question. I don't think so though ... I mean maybe ... but many 7th Sea purists who got into it via tabletop rpg may not play it if it goes to a system that's easy to break and crack .... (cheat codes and what not) Plus, half the fun is that the gm creates the story, and its always new and different, if you have a good gm ... And I don't know it would just be weird to adapt it to that kind of ... system, that's all I'm saying, not that its impossible or anything

Oh, I see. So you think it may not be such a good idea to have on a portable? But without that? How else are people like me gonna get to even try it? I have never seen any kind of info about this till a few days ago when you posted about it. If it comes out for the DS, I may just get into it if done correctly. But whose to say if it can be done correctly on a portable... rolleyes Do you know which company developed the game in the first place?

First off, just to be sure we're on the same page, here. 7th Sea is a table-top RPG, not a video or computer game. It's like Dungeons and Dragons, but a different system and a different overall feel.
You might be able to find some copies of the core book on amazon or ebay. But 7th Sea is actually out of print. It survives in a d20 version as something called "Swashbuckling Adventures," but a lot of players who played it from the get-go, it felt like selling out to the d20 system, so there are still a lot of players who play the original 2d10 version.
Some of that might be Greek to you... let me know if it is...
Berz.

Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) And Berz is right, most of the books and stuff are out of print, online stores are your only hope ... that or some gaming stores ... and thrift stores where people donate books ... I've never played the d20 version ... Though I despise the DnD dice system and prefer the d10 system ... less math ... more roleplaying biggrin

Thanx for the info both of you. 3nodding I did notice that it's supposed to be a table top RPG but still, I remember hearing about Monopoly being adapted into a console game (can't remember which console though), not to mention that "Battleship" was adapted for the original GB and it worked just fine. So why not this too? I think the touch screen (on the Nintendo DS) could work wonders for this game but I'm not sure. And yeah, I am not very familiar with either the d20 or the 2d10 things. I don't know what they are about in the first place. sweatdrop I have experienced D&D but only once unfortunately. rolleyes
