Valentine's Day is just around the corner! Time to spread the love... and the chocolate! We here at Yarn-a-Holics love all our members and to prove it we are hosting a very special Valentine's event! But we love our single members just as much as our love smitten ones, so without further ado I present to you...
The (Anti)Valentine Contest!
Does Valentine's Day fill your heart with joy at the prospect of a long night alone with your sweetie eating candy and gazing into each other's eyes? Or does it fill your heart with rage because you have no sweetie to gaze at and your chocolate is tinged with salty tears? Either way, this contest is for you!
We want to know what Valentine's Day means to you, whether you make a lovely heart patterned blanket or a bloody heart with a knife in it! This contest is open to ALL mediums - you can knit, crochet, sew, or build a macaroni statue for all we care! Make anything you want as long as it's Valentine themed in some way.
The Prize
Contest? That means there must be a prize right? That's right! This is our first prize giveaway and it's Valentine themed as well! Feast your eyes on the lovely...
Heart Glasses! The contestant who receives the most votes will win these awesome glasses and two runners up will get a little something special, too!
The Rundown
So how does this contest work? It's simple! The contest will begin on February 1st and continue until February 12th. That's 12 days you will have to knit, crochet, or sew (or whatever else) your little hearts out, no pun intended. On February 12th, Canadian Treefrog will create another thread in which everyone will post a picture of their completed project along with a small description of what it is and why you chose to make it. Make your descriptions count, they will aid in the voting process!
Once all the pictures and descriptions are posted, voting will begin. We will be calling on everyone in the guild to vote, not just those participating in the contest. Votes will be sent by PM to the lovely Canadian Treefrog who will tally them up and announce the winners on Valentine's Day!
When voting, please consider several aspects of the projects like originality, creativity, quality, description, and general Valentineyness. Yes, that is a word. Choose your favorite and PM the name of that person to Canadian Treefrog.
