I am currently working on a textiles project to promote World Peace. Basically, everyon participating creates a flag using some kind of fiber medium (knitting, crochet, quilting, embroider, etc), which will then be sewn together around a centerpiece which reads "Let there be Peace on Earth." The finished project will be displayed at my senior thesis show this fall, and if it sells, all of the money will go to a peace-promoting organization, such as the Red Cross or Doctors Without Borders.
I currently have three participants, and need a total of 198. If you would like to make a flag, you can find all of the information on my blog. There's a link in my sig, just click on the one for the Peace Project.

So far we have promises for over 50 flags, but there are still 150 to go. This project is open to EVERYONE, so share it with your friends, your family, your knitting group--anyone you think might be interested.

While sign ups for the Peace Project will be open until August 1, you should sign up soon if you have not already done so--over 150 flags have already been claimed, so hurry while there are still some left!
