Summary – “Tears filled Naruto’s blue eyes. He took a few slow steps toward the body. Its left hand was pinned to the ground by a sword. As he got closer, he was able to recognize the body. The tears in his eyes spilled down his face, and a sob ripped from his chest.”

"Sasuke?" The tan blonde cried out through tears. "Sasuke?" No answer. This had been going on for hours. Searching and searching, yet never finding. Why the hell did he have to come today?! It was Sasuke's birthday - July 23rd. Of all days, why today?! As his rage built up, the fox's inside of him did too. The sun had sunk down below the horizon, and the new moon made it completely dark in the forest.

He remembered the exact look on Itachi's face when he came and tortured Sasuke. It killed Naruto to have to see the person that he loved the most be beaten so brutally. He remembered the exact way Sasuke screamed in agony when Itachi grabbed him by his hair and threw him into that tree, with enough force to snap its trunk in half. He never ever wanted to Sasuke in that much pain and he’d never forgive the one who caused it.

He ran even faster now, searching for any sign of Sasuke, or Itachi. Naruto felt the nine-tails take him over. His eyes flashed red, and his speed and strength increased ten-fold. Catching up with that damned man should be easy now.

It seemed like hours before he found a trail of blood. He looked around. There were bloody handprints on trees and bloody footprints on the grassy forest floor. Naruto followed the trail. A bloody beaten body lay ahead of him. Tears filled his now blue eyes. He took a few slow steps toward the body. Its left hand was pinned to the ground by a sword. As he got closer, he was able to recognize the body. The tears in his eyes spilled down his face, and a sob ripped from his chest. He smiled. The body was Itachi.

Sitting up against the nearest tree was none other than Sasuke. His white shirt was stained with blood, and so was he. How can some one look so beautiful, even when they’re half-dead? And Sasuke was beautiful. “Oh, Sasuke!” He sobbed. “You’re. . . You’re alive!” Naruto choked out. He threw himself onto Sasuke, embracing him as tight as his arms would allow.

“Of course I am, dumb a**.” He said in a coarse voice. “Now let go of me, I can’t breathe. . .”

“Sorry. I’m just so happy! I thought you were dead!” He said through tears of joy.

“Why would I be dead? You didn’t think that I was going to leave you alone, now, did you?”

“No, but I . . . !“

Sasuke raised a finger to Naruto’s soft lips. “Shh, my love, it’s okay.” He cooed as he wiped the tears from Naruto’s face. Naruto cuddled up to Sasuke’s chest. “I love you.” Sasuke whispered roughly.

“I would say I love you too,” Naruto said looking up at Sasuke, “but that doesn’t even begin to cover it.” Naruto whispered between Sasuke’s kisses.

Sasuke smiled as what looked like a tear trickled down his porcelain face.
