-A large octagonal room lined with advanced computers that run on a constant, though no one seems to know what purpose they all serve, Save for STU. There is a large, round metal table at the center of the room surrounded by several uncomfortable looking steel and plastic chairs. The lights are always on, but STU dims them in the evening hours between 11PM and 4AM. The door is never locked, but STU has a habit of playing the 'password game' with younger, more headstrong recruits.-

Hakero Takamora was sitting in one of the more 'comfortable' chairs around the table. He was slumped down on the edge, one hand resting on his stomach while the other dangled over the armrest. A book with a black leather binding lay, open, on his face. He gave a loud snore, then became silent again.

When Raptor had returned to the stronghold, not only was she coated with an unpleasant layer of dust and sand; she also had the mood to match it. Of any word in the english language, none sounded sweeter in her mind than 'bath' at that very moment, but her responsibilites stood firmly in the way of her current aspirations.
If all went well, for she had no idea if it had, having abandoned any electronic equipment that would lead the Doctor to the hideout, the others would be back soon.
She stood before the automatic door to the debreifing room.
It opened, but not before STU could make a fairly snide remark for an emotionless machine.
"You look like hell," he said, "did you actually go there?" She dismissed the comment and entered the dimmed octagon room.
Dimmed? Was it already past 11:00PM?
After removing her shades in a swift gesture and tossing them onto the table carelessly, a loud, familiar noise struck her ear. A noise that only reminded her of the incompitence that continued to surround her.
A snore.

Hakero was still sleep[ing soundly. He shifted and the book hit the floor with dull, echoing thud, face up. It was revealed to be a photo album, of his family. All dark haired and fair skined, with young Hakero smiling genuinely, standing next to his beautiful mother. His eyes were ice blue in the picture, as opposed to their current venomous yellow. He snored again, only this time it wasn't as loud.

She went against her training and released a long, exhausted sigh. The biggest problem about their situation was that the heroes that had survived were young; some had barely discovered their power before the war climaxed and Applewhite's influence took root.
Of course she was hardly an acception. It was odd enough that she had kept with her mentor's tutelege for as long as she had, but overall, she couldn't hope to be more than a 'big sister' to any of her younger recruits; not that any of them saw her that way at all.
Either way, her aspirations were beyond her age and experiance...and she knew it.
Making little more than soft, dull clicks on the hard, lenolium floor, she walked over to the object her young friend had involuntarily dropped.
She noticed the contents imediately, and didn't show any restraint in examining it carefully as she picked it up off the floor.
....
A few moments passed, and her strange golden eyes fell on the slumbering comrade. She closed the book with one hand, and in one swift move-
WHAP! She smacked Viper in the back of the head with the book, and fairly hard too.

"Gack!" Hakero jumped out of the chair almost immediately. "Who, what, when, where! Oh..." He sighed. "Wait...Oh, don't tell me I was asleep!? How the hell did I manage that!?" He seemed to be talking to himself, though he knew someone else was in the room.

Then a look of pure panic came across his face when he realized he was no longer holding the albums. He didn't see it in Raptor's hand, and proceeded to look for it frantically, giving himself another bump on the back of the head by hitting it on the steel table. "Yow!"

Luke walked in with his jacket slung over his shoulder. He had just come back after a long day of training. He looked up seeing Hakero. "Whoa.. What happened to him." he smirked some then stretched a bit. He glanced at Viper and rolled his eyes sighing some. "... i swear you're hopeless sometimes..."

She made a bit of a frustrated grunt and dropped the album on the table from just such a height that it couldn't help but be fairly loud.
She turned to Luke with a glare, but didn't speak. That was another disadvantage to being with so many younger heroes. They were all headstrong and seemed to assume she was their 'pal' or something. She played along with the scenario well enough, but she was about ready to beat it into their heads that they were here to serve a purpose.
She tried not to think back on her little chat with the doctor and took her place at the largest chair at the table, placing her hands behind her head and lifting her feet to clunk her boots to a hard rest on the table.
"Wonderful," the monotone, etherial voice of STU, the computer spoke, "You're messing up my table"
"Your table?" she asked with a quirked brow, "You can't exactly use iit, now can you, STU?"

Hakero glared at him, his eyes taking on a whole new dimension of cold. "You shut up! I-it's just...Nyahh!" He put his hand to his forehead in frustration. The album was very important to him. It was the only thing, other than a few sets of clothes, that he'd been able to salvage from his demolished home and had had to the nerve to keep. He'd found most of his family's body parts and bones, had identified them, and had burried them himself. Then he was found by the Resistance. The album reminded him that he wasn't just a machine, fighting for the thrill. He was there for a purpose.

Revenge.

He then picked the album up from the table silently and took his place down the table. Then he spoke. "Um, Raptor? I-I managed to hack into some top secrect Order files, with some hlp from STU. Here, I printed them out." He said, pulling a stack of papers out of the book and sliding them down the tabe to her. "I hope they help."
PostPosted: Sat Jan 26, 2008 6:26 pm

She removed her feet from the table and sat back up to take the files.
"In spite of the fact that we're at a loss for some modern marvels," she said as she began to flip through the pages, "I'd expect you to put the information somewhere more efficient; a flash drive, or at least a disk." She spoke in a dull tone, not remotely harsh. For all that Viper was young and vengeful, he presented himself to the enemy with a level of control that few had. Most didn't have the will power to resist the good Doctor's tempting promises, though they wouldn't want to admit it.
"Its nothing much,"STU piped in, "but I thought you might find this information more interesting than anything else we managed to get a hold of."
Upon complete inspection, the papers revealed themselves to be a chronological documentation of every Hero 'and' Villain known to be deceased to the NWO.
It was't what she had been hoping for, but it was....interesting.

Hakero sighed, rubbing his head again. "Sorry, there wasn't one nearby. Also, they found my older sister, the empath shapeshifter? I think I told you about her. Anyways, they found her, and..." He swallowed the lump forming in his throat. He could barely bring himself to say it. "And they murdered her." That was it. He was completely alone now. He was the only one left in his family's bloodline. The last of a long line of people. He was...alone. And that thought scared him beyond all reason.

Her expression changed at the mention of his sister's murder, but she did not look up from her current page. She wanted to feel sorry for the young man, to empathize with him like she knew she should have been able to. Unfortunately, the only tinge of regret she could feel was for the fact that they had lost a potential aly.
"I'm sorry," was all she could say in something of a grimm tone.
Time passed and silence sat between them. The sound of the hard chair scraping against the lenolium floor seemed like an avalanche in volume as she stood and removed a small key concealed within her belt. Amungst the many screens, dials and buttons that lined the walls, there was a set of file cabinates, one drawer of which she unlocked and placed the files in.
"Have they continued to give you feild work?" she asked, keeping to business as usual. It was going to be a bit of a problem for Viper to continue meeting with them at their safe haven if he was expected to be doing work within the city.

Hakero remained silent. This continued until he stood abruptly, knocking over his chair. "We have to stop them! They knew she was my sister and they still made me kill her!" He burst out, slamming his fist on the table. "It's horrible, what they do to people. Promising orphans that they'll bring their parents back, then taking advantage of them, then throwing them away like an old toy! It...It's sick!"

By this point there were tears rolling down his face and an angry hiss had entered his voice. He furratively tried to wipe the tears away, but more kept coming. He'd killed his own sister. His only family left alive! He'd killed her with his own hands.

Luke looked up and sighed some shaking his head. "That's... not too smart... acts of vengeance often end up turning for the worst.... It's best to think things through you know?" He closed his eyes and sighed some. "For all you know that might be what they want you to do.. run back os they can kill you too...."

((LMAO! Orphans? What the hell? I'm sorry, but lets forget the whole orphan comment and not make those kinds of things up for now. We'll figure out how evil the enemy is supposed to be with time.))

Once again, there was that anguish that she should have been capable of sympathising with, but it just wasn't the way her mind worked anymore.
"They do those kinds of things because they want to break you, Hakero," she spoke, her own anger seemingly doused by his, "f your sister wasn't willing to join them, then it was only to their advantage that 'you' be the one to do her in."
She locked the drawer with a quick turn and a dry click, "Applewhite has a particular distaste for those of us with 'unnatural' capabilities. I'm only sorry we weren't able to find her before they did."
"Dr. Jute has returned with some supplies and a new lifeform. It seems that the others are seeing the hostages safe return." Nobody seemed to break a mood like STU.
"I'll be there in a few minutes," she responded.
She made for the door, but turned to address the young man as it opened, "They're getting to you. They've taken away everything and all they have left is to strip you of your morals. As it stands, they wouldn't have made you kill your sister if they didn't think they already had your loyalty. I suggest thinking about what you've done and what you are going to do before you leave this room." She gave Luke, who had been fairly ignored throughout this whole time, a simple not and left them to their contemplations.
