Welcome to Hogwarts School
of Witchcraft and Wizardry
User Image

Dear Mr./Miss _________
(please insert your name here)
We are pleased to inform you that, as turning 11 years of age and being of wizarding/witching powers, have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Hogwarts, which is located somewhere in Scotland, is carefully hidden by numerous charms and spells so that no Muggles (non-magic humans) can locate its locations. The school normally holds from 600 to 1000 students at a time- a rather small amount, but this is to be sure that the proper education is received.
This school has been access to students ages 11 through 18 to practice and learn their wizarding skills for hundreds of years; dating even back to when the then-famous Harry Potter himself attended.
Students traveling by Hogwarts Express must first travel to King's Cross station in London to board the Hogwarts Express from Platform 9¾. The platform is reached by walking through the barrier between Platforms 9 and 10, however students advise others to attack at pace. After a journey beginning at 11:00 am and ending after nightfall, the train arrives at Hogsmeade Station, near Hogwarts. From there, first year students are accompanied by the Keeper of the Keys and Grounds – or another suitable teacher if they are absent – to small boats, which magically sail themselves across the lake to arrive at a small landing stage near the castle of Hogwarts; from there, they await their turn to get sorted into their houses.
If you are not a first year student, at once attend to the great hall where you are awaited by a marvilous feast. There, you will wait for your fellow first-year classmates whom just might get sorted into your house.
Students that are in their second year and above are allowed to try out for their House's Quidditch team (see letter attachment for further details).
On designated weekends, Hogwarts students in their third year or higher, with a signed permission slip, are permitted to walk to the nearby wizarding village of Hogsmeade, where they can relax and enjoy the pubs, restaurants and shops.
Over the year, points your own house are accumulated by answering questions that teachers believe are worthy to be rewarded. Also, winning Quidditch Games will earn points for your house. Likewise, if you do not abide by the rules of the school, points will be docked, and you may face detention (or expulsion, depending on the crime). At the end of the year, the winning house's colors will decorate the Great Hall during the feast.
Students who are entering their fifth year, and have done exceedingly well in their past years, they may qualify to be a prefect. Prefects have their own separate bathroom, as well as recieve other priviliges, such as later going on to be the Head Boy/Head Girl of their house in a later year.

Yours Sincerely,
The Headmaster of Hogwarts,

Zeru Sullivan

Houses and Dormitories
User Image

-The Great Sorting Hat-
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is divided into four houses, each bearing the last name of its founder: Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Rowena Ravenclaw and Helga Hufflepuff. The houses compete throughout the school year, by earning and losing points for various events, for the House Cup. Houses at Hogwarts are the living and learning communities for its students. Each year, year level groups of every separate house share the same dormitory and classes. The dormitory and common room of a House are, barring rare exceptions, inaccessible to students belonging to other Houses.

In early day of Hogwarts, the four founders handpicked students for their Houses. When the founders worried how students would be selected after their deaths, Godric Gryffindor took his hat off and they each added knowledge in it, allowing The Sorting Hat to choose students. Now, at the beginning of each school year, the magical Sorting Hat is placed on each new student's head, during the Sorting Ceremony. The Sorting Hat announces the house the student is bound to join. Before beginning the Sorting ceremony, it sings a short song about the founding of the school and the four houses; The Sorting Hat's songs are different every year, and the Hat is said to take all year composing the next one. The songs tend to give advice in troubled times.

The four houses are rather separate entities. Each has its own common room and dormitory, its own table in the Great Hall, and students mostly share lessons with classmates of their same house. There is no rule against students from different houses mingling, but in practice, a good majority of social interactions occur within the same house. Each house has one teacher who acts as its Head of House, along with its own ghost. Both Head of House and house ghost were previously pupils within that house.

GRYFFINDOR
User Image
Gryffindor values courage and chivalry above all else. Its animal is the lion, and its colors are scarlet and gold.
Located in one of the castle's highest towers, the entrance to which is located on the seventh floor and is guarded by a painting of the Fat Lady, who is garbed in a pink dress. She permits entry only after being given the correct password.

HUFFLEPUFF
User Image
Hufflepuff, founded by Helga Hufflepuff, values hard work, loyalty, tolerance, and fair play above all else. Its animal is the badger, and canary yellow and black are its colors.
Their entrance found through a still-life painting that is somewhere near the kitchens. You must give a password to the painting to enter. The Hufflepuff common room is filled with yellow hangings and fat armchairs and it has little underground tunnels leading to the dormitories, all of which have perfectly round doors, like barrel tops (very much like a badger sett).

RAVENCLAW
User Image
Ravenclaw values intelligence, creativity, wit, and wisdom."Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure" is an oft-repeated Ravenclaw proverb. Its animal is an eagle, the house colors are blue and bronze. The dormitories are located in Ravenclaw Tower on the west side of the school. The common room is round and filled with blue hangings and fat armchairs, has a domed ceiling painted with stars, and also features a statue of Rowena Ravenclaw wearing her diadem. A logical riddle must be solved in order to gain entry, whereas the Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Slytherin common rooms only require a password.

SLYTHERIN
User Image
Like Salazar Slytherin, its founder, Slytherin house values ambition, cunning, resourcefulness, and pure blood heritage. Most Slytherin students display a high level of machiavellianism. The Slytherin dormitories and common room are reached through a bare stone wall in the dungeons. The Slytherin common room is a long, low, dungeon-style room, located under the Hogwarts Lake, furnished with green lamps, and carved armchairs.

Other Rooms, Locations and Places (not including classrooms)

The Great Hall
User Image
The Great Hall is entered by double doors to the right of the Entrance Hall. The Great Hall is a vast chamber that contains four long tables for each of the four Houses. Closest to the doors is the Slytherin table, followed by Ravenclaw, then Hufflepuff, and finally the Gryffindor table next to the far wall. On a raised platform at the front of the room is the High Table where the staffs dine. The ceiling is enchanted so that it mirrors the sky as it currently appears outside. There are also high mullioned windows around the room that show the grounds outside. Behind the High Table, there is a smaller antechamber with a fireplace and many portraits.

The Entrance Hall
The Entrance Hall is entered up a flight of stone steps and through huge double oak front doors that face west. The Hall is lit by torches and is quite imposing, with a ceiling so high it is barely visible and a paved flagstone floor. A wide marble staircase opposite the front doors leads to the first floor. On either side of this staircase, there are two doors. One leads to the Hufflepuff common room and the kitchens, while the other leads to the dungeons. There is also a door on the left side of the Hall that leads to an antechamber where the first year students wait before the Sorting, as well as a broom cupboard off the Hall. The Hall is also home to the four House hourglasses where the House points are displayed for all to see.

The Hospital Wing
The hospital wing contains many beds with white sheets, optional privacy screens, and bedpans. It also contains the office of the nurse.

The Library
The library contains tens of thousands of books on thousands of shelves. The different sections include an Invisibility Section, a section on dragons, and the Restricted Section at the very back, barred by a rope. Students need a signed note of permission from a teacher to peruse the Restricted Section, as it holds books about powerful Dark subject matter that is never taught at Hogwarts, and is only used by older students studying advanced Defence Against the Dark Arts. Books in the Hogwarts library may be put on hold and the student's name added to a waiting list. Chocolate and presumably, all other food and drinks are forbidden in the library, which closes at 8:00 p.m. Often, jinxes are placed on the books to be sure that they're not mistreated.

The Quidditch Pitch
The Quidditch pitch is where Quidditch games are held, and where teams practice. There are three golden hoops, about 50 feet high, at each end used for scoring, and stands surrounding it, providing seating for spectators. It houses the locker rooms for the four House teams and the offices of the four team captains.

Headmaster's Tower
The headmaster or headmistress' office and residence is inside this tower, and is entered via a staircase guarded by a stone gargoyle on the seventh floor. The office is a large and beautiful round room with windows that have a view of the Quidditch pitch and the mountains surrounding Hogwarts. It is decorated with portraits of previous headmasters and headmistresses, including Phineas Nigellus Black, Armando Dippet, Dilys Derwent, Professor Everard, and Dexter Fortescue. The desk is enormous and claw-footed with a highly polished surface and a high-backed chair. On the wall behind the headmaster's desk is a shelf that holds the Sorting Hat and beside the Hat, Godric Gryffindor's sword is contained in a glass case.

Prefect's Bathroom
The prefects' bathroom is hidden behind the fourth door to the left of the statue of Boris the Bewildered. Despite the name, Quidditch captains can also use this bathroom. The door opens when told the correct password. Inside, the room is made entirely of white marble and is softly lit by a candle-filled chandelier. The bathtub is rectangular and about the size and depth of a swimming pool, complete with a diving board and hundreds of taps each with a differently colored jewel set into the handle. From these taps gush not only water, but also magical bubble bath, including pink and blue bubbles the size of footballs, extremely thick ice-white foam, and heavily perfumed purple clouds that hover over the surface of the water. One tap even sends a jet that bounces across the water in large arcs.

The Lake
The lake is located on the south side of the castle, which stands on a cliff overlooking the water. It is about half a mile in diameter and the Hogwarts plumbing network drains into it. A number of magical creatures inhabit the lake, including a surprisingly friendly giant squid, often seen near the surface, a colony of merpeople inhabiting the bottom, and a population of grindylows

The Forbidden Forest
The Forbidden Forest is a large, dark forest to the east of Hogwarts Castle. Among the plant species within the Forest are trees such as beech, oak, pine, sycamore, and yew, as well as undergrowth including knotgrass and thorns. Though the Forest is vastly dense and wild, there are a few paths and clearings. At all times, students are forbidden to the grounds of the forest.

Hogsmeade
Hogsmeade is the only settlement in Great Britain inhabited solely by magical beings, and is located to the northwest of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. However, Hogwarts students for shopping needs and to mingle with friends primarily visit the Village. Students of Hogwarts who are in their third year and above are permitted to visit Hogsmeade during scheduled visits, as long as they have a signed permission slip from a parent or guardian. Mainly, students wander within a high street in the Village which contains the named specialty shops and pubs in the series. Otherwise, they wander on to observe the infamous Shrieking Shack.

The Sport of Quidditch
User Image
The game starts with the referee releasing all four balls from the central circle. The Bludgers and the Snitch, having been bewitched, fly off on their own accord; the Snitch to quickly hide, and the Bludgers to attack the nearest players. The Quaffle is thrown into the air by the referee to signal the start of play.
Chasers score by sending the Quaffle through any of the three goal hoops. Each goal scored is worth ten points. After a goal is scored, the Keeper of the team scored upon throws the Quaffle back into play. Capturing the Snitch earns the Seeker's team 150 points, equivalent to 15 goals scored by Chasers. Since the game ends immediately after the Snitch is caught, the team which captures the Snitch is very likely to win the game.
The length of a Quidditch game is variable, as play can only end with the capture of the Golden Snitch by one of the Seekers.

Players
Each team is made up of seven players, consisting of three Chasers, two Beaters, one Keeper and one Seeker.
The Chasers progress up and down the pitch passing the Quaffle by hand amongst themselves, in an attempt to score goals by throwing it through one of their opponent's three goal hoops.
The Keeper is charged with protecting the three goal hoops. All four players must constantly avoid both the Bludgers (which attempt to attack them) and accidental contact with the Golden Snitch (which is a foul).
The Beaters are armed with wooden clubs that are similar to, but shorter than, baseball bats. They are tasked with protecting their teammates from the Bludgers by knocking these balls off course or towards opponents.
Finally, the Seeker, usually the lightest member of the team and equipped with the fastest broom, is charged with searching the pitch for, chasing down and eventually capturing, the elusive Golden Snitch. Seekers are the only players permitted to touch the Snitch.
Each team includes a nominated captain, who may play any of the four positions.

Broomsticks
Magic flying broomsticks are one of the forms of transportation for wizards and witches, as well as for Quidditch. The Nimbus broomsticks are known to be one of the best broomsticks in the Wizarding world. A Firebolt is an advanced professional-level flying broomstick and the most expensive racing broom in existence. Comets and Cleansweeps are cheaper than the Nimbus and are more common. A Shooting Star is another brand of broom, but it is considered to be slow and out of style.
Those brooms are still used, but new ones have more recently come into production, as well as the new brands of 'specialty sticks'. The new top of the lines are the Sleipnir (a Seeker Specialty), the Gungnir (a Keeper Specialty), the Flytburst (a Chaser Specialty), and the Dragon Claw (a Beater Specialty). Some other brooms that are slightly older, but still pretty fine work are the Firebolt X, the Creep '96, the Nimbus 3000, and the Paladin 2X.
The fastest broom on the market, Sleipnir is the favorite among seekers. It has been out on the market for nearly two years but no other broom can claim that it's faster. As such, it is a little on the expensive side. It has a sleek, maneuverable, light weight design, but its cypress wood structure makes it easier to break than other brooms. Only seekers that can avoid buldgers or have good beaters on their team are advised to buy this broom.
An overall good broom, the Gungnir's original purpose was to be specialty broom for Keepers. Thus, the head of the broom is larger, wider, and thicker than most brooms are. This creates a small decrease in speed compared to normal brooms and is much slower to seeker specialty brooms. Aside from the Flytburst, it's the cheapest specialty broom on the market.
The favorite and most affordable brooms to those who don't know what kind of position they might be playing. This broom is made of oak and won't break easily if playing a beater position, has a fair amount of speed for seekers, a basic head for keepers and of course, the maneuverability that chasers need. The Flytburst won't decrease in speed (unless commanded to do so) when making quick dips and turns. As an added bonus, after a certain amount of flight time, the broom builds up enough energy to have a super burst of speed that can help Chasers make it to the goal posts.
A rather unpredictable broom, the Dragon Claw can move at an average speed and is incredibly sturdy. It can take a large amount of beatings and never break. Also, if the Beater needs to make a quick burst of speed in order to whack a bludger, it can do so but this sacrifices speed for a short while afterwards.
A fast broom that was once all the rage, it has trouble making tight turns and decreases dramatically in speed when doing so. Seekers that can't buy high-end brooms, buy the Firebolt X. With the right amount of skill, this broom can be nearly as good as any of the specialty brooms on the market. It's doesn't break as easily as the Nimbus 3000 either.
The oldest broom available on the market, it's cheap but somewhat slower than the rest. This broom wasn't made for Quidditch games but more for practice, though if someone had to use it, they probably could. Aside from speed, everything else seems to be pretty normal. It is said to be the safest broom on the market because of its speed. Many wizarding schools have a set of these brooms to help teach new students how to ride a broom.
A broom with decent speed and good maneuverability, the Nimbus 3000 is a prime choice for Chasers. Though it's light-weight and breaks after a few beatings, it's about the same price of the Paladin 2X. It's speed doesn't go as fast as the Firebolt X, but it doesn't slow down when turning or dipping up/down. Its head is thin and slender and is not a good choice for Keepers however.
A basic broom that most amateur Quidditch players use during games, the Paladin 2X is both affordable and practical. Nearly all of its abilities are average and its fullest potential is only determined by the rider. Though it can never truly become as great as the specialty brooms, it's sure not to disappoint.

Gaia Name: Aerene

Name: Avelyn Oberon
Age: 16
Bloodline: Muggle-born
Year at Hogwarts: 6
Class Specialty: Defense Against the Dark Arts
Wand Type: 13.72", Elder, Chimaera Scale
Broomstick: Firebolt 3000
House: Gryffindor
Animal/Pet: Blue Somali (Cyan)
Personality: Avelyn has a rebellious personality and if someone tells her to do something, she'll try to figure out how to do the exact opposite. This particular trait has gotten her into a ton of trouble but it has also made her particularly fearless. She's willing to give anything at least one try. It is also her rebellious personality that has her particularly interested in the 'bad boys' of Slytherin, despite most of them being purebloods and not wanting to have anything to do with her. Though she won't come to the aid of most people when they're being bullied, Avelyn is loyal to her friends and tends to get into fights for their sakes, even if it's somewhat trivial.
Bio: Though Avelyn was born to a muggle family in London, she had always believed that magic was all around her. Strangely enough though, she never believed in wizards or witches, claiming that they were a myth when she was a child. She believed that she had caught glimpses of magical creatures as a child but there was never any definitive proof of such things. Her parents told her she was being silly and her older siblings always insisted that she get her head out of the clouds. Needless to say, when she got her letter to Hogwarts at the age of 11, her entire family was against it. The girl had to go to extreme measures to actually get into the school during her first year. It was her "uncle" who helped her get into the school and currently houses her during the summers. Though called her uncle, the man is not related to her mother by blood at all and was adopted by the family in order to have a male heir.
In school, the girl is exceptional good with most classes, but struggles to keep a passing grade in potions, history of magic, and divination. She can never seem to do the recipes in potions correctly, doesn't understand the use of divination, and has an extremely hard time sitting through the history of magic lectures without falling asleep at least once. Halfway into her third year, she was recruited to become a temporary seeker for the Quidditch team because their own seeker went out of commission for a while. It wasn't until her fifth year that she was asked to permanently join the team.
Extra: Despite the legal age of riding a motorcycle being 17 in Britain, Avelyn has been riding since she was about 14 years of age. Being a rule-breaking child, she has become an Animagus since her fourth year at Hogwarts. Her animal is that of a melanistic fox. Her wand is an irregular and rare wand; had it possessed a different core, the wand would have been trashed. Birthday is December 21st.

Gaia Name: Shadows After Dawn

Name: Ennis Gilroy
Age: 16
Bloodline: Muggle-born
Year at Hogwarts: 5
Class Specialty: N/A
Wand Type: 14.5", Holly, Pheonix tail feather
Broomstick: Paladin 2X
House: Gryffindor
Personality: Ennis is a competitive sort of guy, especially when it comes to the sports. One way to describe Ennis is 'boy-ish'; he won't back away from a challenge, but will put some thought into his actions before doing them. He likes to get good results quickly, so the student doesn't find much time for studying.
Bio: Ennis was born to Muggle artist parents in Ennis, Ireland. Growing up in a Muggle family, Ennis had never thought twice about wizards of any sort. At age ten, the family moved to Britain. Less than a year later, Ennis's letter from Hogwarts arrived, shocking his parents and little sister. The boy's little sister may have been jealous at first, but other than that, there were no objections in the family for him going to a wizarding school to practice his newfound skill. Ennis's family is doing it's best to try and support him, but they can only give certain amounts of money depending on how much they make.
Ennis is strong, and well-built, even for his age. He holds the title as Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, as well as playing one of Gryffindor's beaters. The student had played the position of beater since his second year at Hogwarts, but he's grown more serious about the sport when he was appointed Captain. Financial reasons resulted in Ennis's old broom, and over the years, that has lead to broken limbs. He hasn't done well enough in class to make the prefects, and only maintains a good enough grade to stay on the Quidditch team. All Ennis's plans for when he graduates involve- you guessed it- Quidditch.
Extra: Ennis is currently trying to save up on his own to buy a better broom.
His birthday is August 24.

Gaia Name: Nariko Yuki Katana

Name: Elizabeth Harker
Age: 15
Bloodline: Pureblood
Year at Hogwarts: 5
Class Specialty: Potions
Wand Type: 9", Maple, Dragon Scale
Broomstick: Dragon Claw
House: Ravenclaw
Animal/Pet: Black and white Rat (Linal)
Personality: Elizabeth is a very proper person believing that manners and respect come before all else. Though she may believe in respecting people if anyone disrespects her or someone she knows then she will find a way to get them back, not then of course. She likes expression and so likes potions where she can mix things up to make something new. This also means she likes arts such as writing, music, and paintings. Elizabeth has a quick wit and a fast paced mind, though it helps her in some situations in others it makes it hard for her to focus on what’s in front of her.
Bio: Elizabeth was raised with her siblings though even as she was the youngest and not as good at things as some of her elders she was never given any less attention or love as one might think in a high class family. Her mother is a stay at home mom while her dad works closely with the minster taking care of money management and what not. Her brothers both are now off in school to learn about caring for dragons and her elder sister is studying how to become a teacher so that she can return to Hogwarts to work there. Elizabeth was able to make her house's Quidditch team as a 'beater'. It's sort of in the family since each of her siblings played the same position. Elizabeth may excel in Potions, though she's average and sometimes above average in her other classes.
Extra: Elizabeth has been known to doddle and write down random things on work which is partly due to her average grades, she's good at the work she's just too distracted.

Gaia Name: Aerene
Appearance:

Name: Maris Aimo
Age: 13
Bloodline: Half-Blood
Year at Hogwarts: 3
Class Specialty: Divination/Astronomy
Wand Type: 10", Rosewood, Kelpie Hair
Broomstick: Paladin 2X
House: Ravenclaw
Animal/Pet: Northern Hawk Owl (Lin)
Personality: Preferring the company of animals or books, Maris is most comfortable being left alone to her own devices. Though she can communicate to people intelligently, she tends to come off as shy quiet type. Her personality would have developed more flamboyantly had she not been tormented by her cousins as a child. Though she comes to class well prepared, her mind tends to wander off easily and she daydreams often. Fortune tellers and diviners often tell her that she has an enormous amount of luck but her luck seems to be relatively average. Maris is also not the type of person to go into dangerous situations on her own. However, if someone she cares about goes into a bad situation, she will usually follow to back them up.
Bio: Maris is the only child of a young chinese muggle nurse and a welsh wizard. Due to reasons unknown, her father and mother divorced when she was only two years of age. Many of her father's family believed it was because the muggle found out that she had married a wizard. Her father retained custody of the child and moved back into Europe, where he left the girl to be raised alongside her cousins while he worked. It was common for her cousins to look upon the girl with disdain because of her blood was not pure like theirs. Growing up was a pain for the girl, who was always looked down upon by her other family members.
It was no wonder that she began to hide herself away, excluding the rare instances where her father came home. She often stayed in the family's library and became extremely interested in astrology and divination before even being accepted into Hogwarts. She has enjoyed herself during her time at the magic school and currently serves as Ravenclaw's 'keeper' during Quidditch matches and was recruited during her second year by recommendation of the previous keeper. In the way of studies, Maris seems to be naturally gifted with magic, but needs to study hard with potions.
Extra: Her father was a Gryffindor when he was attending Hogwarts and hated Quidditch. These two differences seem to be the only two things the parent and child seem to argue about. Maris is also adept at water spells and hexes. Birthday is February 29th.

SLYTHERIN Students
User Image

Gaia Name: ~when~the~music~fades~
Appearance:
User Image
Name: Siobhan (shi-VAWN) Elliot
Age: 16
Bloodline: Pureblood
Year at Hogwarts: 6
Class Specialty: Transfiguration
Wand Type: 10" Mahogany, Demiguise hair
Broomstick: Gungnir
House: Slytherin
Animal/Pet: Lilac Marbled Australian Mist (Marcy)
Personality: A classic Slytherin, Siobhan is intelligent and proud, but with the skills and the blood to back it up, giving her a sense of confidence that is great to a fault. She is prejudiced and condescending, often speaking with a greater-than-thou tone of voice and attitude. She is extremely stubborn and will not admit to being wrong, though she will not get into a debate that she knows she can't win. Siobhan is haughty and full of herself, carrying herself as such. She has a storng tendency to be mean, snide, and rude, especially to those she considers below her level.
Bio: Siobhan is the pureblood daughter of a well-respected and poweful witch and wizard. She grew up in a small wizarding community just south of Cambridge. Her parents knew that Siobhan would be going to Hogwarts, and so they began preparations for her stay long before the letter even arrived. She more or less grew up ready to enter the school. Siobhan was an only child, and rather spoiled by her parents.
When she got to Hogwarts, she, as both her mother and father were, was put into Slytherin house. It quickly became clear that the girl had a knack for Transfiguration. She is pretty decent at most magic, but definitely shows a preference for that class. Once she finishes at Hogwarts, Siobhan plans to become an animagus and most likely do work with the Ministry, or travel. Siobhan is also rather skilled at Quidditch, and joined Slytherin's team in her second year. She began as a chaser but became keeper in her third year and captain in her fifth. She is still the keeper and captain and plans to remain so for her final two years at Hogwarts.
Like many purebloods, Siobhan is prejudiced against muggle-borns, but surprisingly not so much as most. If a muggle-born or a half-blood can prove to her that they have talent, she will acknowledge them. Of course, Siobhan's standards are high, and the amount of times she has actually acknowledged someone are numbered, and only a fraction of those times has she said anything aloud. She tends to be followed around by other Slytherin students who could be considered her friends but none of them seem to refer to each other as such.
Extra: Birthday is November 16th; she's a Scorpio.

Gaia Name: Aerene
Appearance:
User Image
Name: Sorin Aurelius
Age: 15
Bloodline: Pureblood
Year at Hogwarts: 5
Class Specialty: N/A
Wand Type: 12.5", Oak, Phoenix Feather
Broomstick: Dragon Claw
House: Slytherin
Animal/Pet: Spotted Eagle-Owl (Ciaran)
Personality: Sorin is the type of person who does what he wants, when he wants. Power and control are amongst the top things he must have at all times. Despite this, he won't show what he's thinking bluntly. If someone decides to disrespect him in anyway, he will most likely play it cool until the right time and pay them back with interest. Aside from his own house, he's not nice to anyone. In his own house, the friends that he makes are amongst the only things he would die for (though from the way he treats them sometimes, it's hard to believe so). He detests anything less than pure wizard blood and will go out of his way to make life miserable for any he deems extra annoying.
Bio: The eldest of four children, Sorin has a set of younger twin sisters that are about 10 years younger than he is and a younger twin that died when the family still lived in Romania. His family is one of the older and prouder wizarding families, along with one of the richer. All of the males were housed in Slytherin, as well as a great deal of their wives (though his mother was from Ravenclaw). When Sorin was accepted, it was no different for the boy and he was confident that he was going to be in the house even before he was on the train to the school during his first year.
During his years at school, he's remained the top student in his house and year. Though he doesn't have a class he particularly excels in, he's gifted with exceptional talent that keeps him from having to spend too much time studying or trying. He does, however, have a small interest in runes and takes the class. Because of his studies, he has been recruited (begrudgingly) as a prefect. Aside from studies, Sorin also plays as a Beater on the Slytherin Quidditch team, despite his somewhat lean appearance. His hits are not quite as hard as the other Beater on the team but he can get to bludgers quickly and hit them fairly accurately.
Extra: The eye color of the boy is odd and is similar to his mother's eyes. A proper pupil can be found within the iris. The iris, itself, is strange in that it's mostly moon silver in color but there are flecks of gold within them. Sorin also plays the muggle stock market for fun during summers when he's not doing much. Amazingly, he's pretty successful. Birthday is December 23rd.

Gaia Name: Shadows After Dawn
Appearance: User Image
Name: Jayden Layne
Age: 14
Bloodline: Pureblood
Year at Hogwarts: 4
Class Specialty: Charms Class
Wand Type: 12" Elm, Unicorn hair (male)
Broomstick: Flytburst
House: Slytherin
Animal/Pet: A large male Great Horned owl (Hyram)
Personality: As are a fair amount of Slytherin students, Jayden is cunning and resourceful. He likes to take advantage of things (situations and people included), and will (attempt) to do so if they show any signs that they are weaker than him. The boy shows great respect (when faced head on by them) who hold greater power than him (mainly teachers, Ministry workers, and his sisters), but behind their back Jayden can get pretty nasty if he doesn't like them. Jayden can put up with half-bloods and mudbloods to some extent, though he prefers fullblooded people. The one thing that the boy can't stand at all are Hufflepuff students and staff, whom he holds a grudge against no matter their age or power. This hate is for no reason particularly- Jayden just never really liked them.
Bio: Jayden Layne is the youngest child out of three, with two older sisters who have recently graduated (one is six years older than him, the other seven).
Jayden never really liked being the "baby" in the family, and he'd pick ones younger to make himself feel bigger and stronger.
The student's family is of pure blood. His two sisters, and parents too, had been in the Slytherin house when they attended Hogwarts. So likewise to them (as well as the majority of his family on his mother's side), he was placed in Slytherin without a question.
His eldest sister currently works in St Mungos, and the sister closest to his age is planning to work in the Ministry of Magic (starting out in the Auror Office). Jayden's father is works in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, while his mother works in the Improper Use of Magic Office (both of which are in the Ministry). The Layne family lives in a fair-sized house in London.
Jayden is doing average in all but two classes- Divination and Charms. As Jayden could care less what happens because of the stars, Divination is a class Jayden isn't doing so well in. To make up for poorly grade in Divination, Jayden does exceedingly good in Charms class.
Extra: Jayden is one of the chasers of the Slytherin Quidditch team. He joined the team last year, and plans to stay on it until he graduates.
He wears his family's crest on a necklace, which is kept on at all times.
His birthday is July 8th.

Teachers, Ghosts, and Other Staff

Gaia Name: Aerene
Appearance:
User Image (- wrist watch)
Name: Zeru Sullivan
Age: 42
Bloodline: Pureblood
Position: Headmaster
Wand Type: 11", Yew, Nundu Tooth/Fang
Personality: He's calm in most situations, not getting angry or frustrated outwardly even in the most intense situations. However, he cannot handle public humiliation or being threatened physically/magically. His temper is extremely fierce during those times and he tends to cause a massive amount of damage and has to be restrained by his peers. As time as passed, he has gained some control of his temper but it still remains quite violent. Many people would consider him to be soft-spoken (when he's not angry) and he tends not to say too much out-loud (though his thoughts are an entirely different matter). He is extremely loyal to those he finds worthy enough to be close to him and enemies are scarce. He has a great dislike of vampires and werewolves but that may, or may not, be because of his time in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.
Bio: An American by birth, Zeru went to the best American wizarding school that his parents could find. Because of this, he can never truly be classified into one of the houses within Hogwarts; though if he had to, he's be in Gryffindor. The house he was put into, in the American school, was called Gytrash, a spectral dog. In the school Gytrash was supposed to be the house with the largest expectations upon them, being famous through-out the US as the future seers. Unlike most of the students in Gytrash, Zeru possessed little, if any, divining abilities and, needless to say, did not become a seer. Instead, his life was abounding with near-death encounters, including an experience of helping to take down a nundu in his 20's. He took the largest tooth of the nundu that he helped to take down and fashioned it into a wand made with yew wood. Since ordering the wand, Zeru has managed to get into fewer near-death experiences but still faces them frequently.
He moved to England in his 30's when his current job in the America's Ministry of Magic relocated him from their Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures to the British Ministry of Magic's Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures. During his stay in Britain, he has switched many times within the Ministry, being changed whenever the Minister of Magic felt the need to do so. About four years ago, the previous Headmaster of Hogwarts finally retired, being the son of Harry Potter, and Zeru was asked to enter in his place due to his extensive career history and experience.
Extra: His birthday is February 29th. He has never been married but he was very popular in his younger days. People close to him jokingly call him "Zero." He has several scars along his chest area as well as a scar that runs most of the way down his right leg from his days in the Ministry. The Nundu is a giant leopard in Africa that is considered the most dangerous creature in the magical community, needing at least 100 skilled wizards to take it down (compared to an agitated dragon with only 10 wizards), that causes disease and death. Yew is known as a tree of death.

Gaia Name: Shadows After Dawn
Appearance:
User Image
Name: Cameron Amos
Age: 40
Bloodline: Half-blood
Position: Divination Professor
Wand Type: 9.75", Oak, Dragon Heartstring
Animal/Pet: Male ragdoll cat (Sid)
Personality: Professor Amos is somewhat of a pushover. She'll let students slide the first couple of times without fault, but after that, she's down to business. Professor Amos isn't lacking in skill or experience, just the guts to want to get a student in trouble. She doesn't favor any house.
Bio: Even though she excelled in Divination class back when she attended Hogwarts, Cameron never had expected that several years after she had graduated, she would be called back to teach the subject. She'd been otherwise working in a small book-shop in Diagon Alley, and was only too glad to come back to Hogwarts, this time to teach. She's been working at Hogwarts for a number of years now, and has moved up to the position of Hufflepuff house when the other teacher who had been it retired.
As a student, Cameron didn't play on the Quidditch team, though she was a prefect in her fifth year, and later Head Girl of Hufflepuff.
Cameron Amos was born to a wizard father (whom was also in Hufflepuff), and a Squib (non-magic person born to to magic family) mother. Her mother was delighted when she found out that Cameron had the skills that had skipped out on her, and as their only child, Cameron's mother was a push-over to her daughter.
Extra: Professor Amos is head of the Hufflepuff House.
Her birthday is January 1st.

Gaia Name: Aerene
Appearance:
User Image
Name: Cael Lupin
Age: 28
Bloodline: Half-blood
Position: Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor
Wand Type: 13", Alder, Thestral Hair
Animal/Pet: Albino Phoenix (Art)
Personality: Despite being an auror, Cael has a very laid-back, lackadaisical personality. He tends to go through life at face value and worries about problems when they come up. If and when a problem comes up, he's very quick-witted and, if he can, prefers to take the "path of least resistance." People wishing to speak with him usually need to be prepared with a decent amount of patience. His moony personality does tend to make him forget items and when he's teaching, he can drift off into a daydream in the middle of a sentence. If he could make money by laying in the grass and daydreaming, he would surely quit both being a professor and being an auror.
Bio: Grandson of Ted Lupin, Cael Lupin is both a professor at Hogwarts and a trained Auror. He is technically on-call at all times of the year, but he was specifically asked to be a professor at Hogwarts so he is only called during extreme emergencies. This is his first year teaching at Hogwarts.
When he was a student at Hogwarts, he was housed in Ravenclaw, much to the surprise of many of his teachers during the years. He did not achieve anything particularly amazing and he also did not play Quidditch. Despite all of this, he was a brilliant student and excelled in more complex spells. Quite frankly though, he cannot handle simple things in almost any area. Simple math, commonly domesticated animals, and a good deal of basic spells are in the list of items that he does not do well with.
Extra: Art is an albino phoenix and instead of the normal crimson-orange plumage, he has a silver-saffron plumage. On his "Burning Day" he bursts into blue-white flames. His Tonks Lineage has helped him to inherit the Metamorphmagus bloodline. Birthday is April 1st.

Gaia Name: Aerene
Appearance:
User Image
Name: Ayden Marius
Age: 32 (looks about 19)
Bloodline: Half-Blood/Dhampir
Position: Care of Magical Creatures
Wand Type: 11", Ebony, Graphorn Hide
Personality: A somewhat serious-looking fellow, Ayden is the type to take charge of a situation, unlike some of the other professors at the school. He does not enjoy troublemakers and tends to deal with them far more harshly than sometimes one would like to think. Those who have gotten on his bad side find him to be a rather unsavory person. However, Ayden is an extremely loyal person and works hard in whatever he does- even if he does not find it in his interest.
If one can find him off-guard from his teaching attitude, he is quite bright and chatty. He can seem very optimistic though his thoughts are generally pessimistic. Aside from these features, Ayden typically has bodyguard-type reactions. If any of his students get into trouble, he is not one to hesitate to come in and take blows to protect them.
Bio: Ayden was born in a small rural town in England, though he was conceived on a trip to Transylvania. His birth father was never around due to the fact that he was a vampire and that his mother was already married at the time. Because he did not display signs that were extremely close to vampires, his "father" has always believed that Ayden was his own child. Only Ayden and his mother have ever known the secret and they had planned to keep it that way until both of their deaths. However, as time passed on, the vampire blood running within Ayden's veins seemed to slow his physical aging down a bit. This was, of course, noticed by other students and a large case was worked up during his time at Hogwarts.
In the end, Ayden was forced to drop out of the school for a year in order to straighten out everything with the Ministry of Magic- forcing him to graduate at the age of 19 instead of 18. While he was found to be as harmless as any wizard could be, the Ministry constantly checks up on him. His dhampir heritage had also caused his mother and "father" to divorce. Both he and his mother were extremely hard pressed for money, most people not hiring either of them and his mother's family disowning her. When he was offered a job at Hogwarts, he quickly jumped on it- not because of want but because of necessity. Even now, most of his paycheck goes to his mother- whom he takes care of during summers.
Extra: While he does not show the effect of weakening in the sunlight, Ayden does dislike being out in the sun and tries to stay in shaded regions during his classes and particularly hates Patronus charms. He enjoys the taste of blood (often buying blood-flavored lollipops at Honeydukes). He does not have the need to bite or consume blood but he is able to bite and consume blood if he so chooses to do so- though his fangs are not as noticeable as a normal vampire's. He also hates garlic. His birthday is the 30th of May. Due to his vampire birth, Ayden believes that the fact that he was sorted into Slytherin and given such a powerful wood for his wand is due to his vampire blood. He also does not have much of an accent, his mother being a pureblood American who had married a British wizard. Students that have asked about his age are told to guess so his actual age has been undermined.

Gaia Name: ~when~the~music~fades~
Appearance: User Image
Name: Gemma Little
Age: Deceased; died at age 15.
Bloodline: Muggle-born
Year at Hogwarts: Was in fifth; now a ghost.
House: Hufflepuff
Personality: Gemma is apt to space out a lot and is a daydreamer. Though she may come across as dumb, she's actually not, though she's not exactly a genius, either. She is extremely loyal and kind, but also somewhat sensitive. She avoids the majority of Slytherins like the plague. Gemma is one of the youngest ghosts in the castle, but one of the more social ones.
Bio: Gemma is a ghost from the days of Harry Potter and Voldemort. She was in a muggle-born in Hufflepuff house, and got killed in the crossfire of two Avada Kedavra spells when the castle was being evacuated. Her death was instant; she hardly remembers anything aside from the frenzy. Depsite being a rather spacy girl, Gemma was a compotent witch, and her best class was Charms. She took the news that she was a witch surprisingly well, and was always careful to follow the rules. She spends most of her time in the Hufflepuff lounge or wandering the halls of Hogwarts. She knows all of the teachers who have been at the school at least one year, and sometimes shares stories of the time when Voldemort was alive, but only when asked or when the subject comes up. After so many years, Gemma has found herself able to speak his name, which surprises her when she thinks about it, though she rarely does.
Extra: Gemma came from the Yorkshire area and speaks with the accent. Her deathday is May 2nd, 1998 (she stopped celebrating her birthday after she died), the date of the Battle of Hogwarts.
