Does anyone sell their completed projects?
I thought I'd strike up conversation about it because SouthOfNeptune was commissioned to knit up these adorable beanies.
So, has anyone ever been commissioned before?
Or have you sold projects on the side to make some extra cash? Good experiences? Bad experiences? ;P Just curious (:

i've never thought of selling my items but it would be cool....

I've been commissioned to knit things for people before.
A friend paid me to make a hat for her boyfriend's mother and sister, which she ended up saying that they really really loved. I don't recall how much she paid me, I think it was about $40 though. Plus she bought all the yarn for the project.

I've made 5 hats for a mother and her 4 daughters...which turned out really adorable. She paid me $40 for them. Which was fine, cause I used acrylic yarn to make them. But they really loved them.

Umm...let's see. I was paid like $35 to make this scarf for a lady at my church..I see her wear it every now and then.

Someone on gaia, in one of my other guilds commissioned me to make two hats for him, one with skulls and the other to be blue and black striped. I think he paid $10 for each of them.

I tried to sell some of my knitted stuff on Etsy.com but...didn't end up selling anything. I think I'll just keep knitting stuff and then having a sale at my church this fall and see if anyone will buy them. By then I should have a lot more to offer.
