Queensrÿche is a progressive metal band that's somewhat similar to Rush in their lyrical content and that they've been around a long time (longer than me, anyway). Their most popular songs include Silent Lucidity and Jet City Woman, which you've probably heard on the radio. Because they're a metal band, their sound is harder than Rush's, but I find their music goes pretty well with Snakes & Arrows and Vapor Trails. The most distinguishing factor of Queensrÿche, besides their talented musicians (Rush being my favorite band, I only settle for the best of the best), is their lead singer, Geoff Tate, who has an incredible vocal range and a very distinctive voice. Operation: Mindcrime is the greatest Progressive Metal album of the 1980's.
'Queen of the Reich' is an absolutely amazing Heavy Metal song, too. heart
