Have any of you ever heard of Phantom of the Opera? We were talking about movies in English and it came up. Our teacher asked us later to write down our favorite movie, why it's our favorite, which character is our favorite and why. I said my favorite movie was Phantom of the Opera, because it shows how cruel humans can be, and yet it shows at the same time how caring we can be. My favorite character is The Phantom. He's my favorite because I can relate to him, being shunned, having someone you love walk away with someone else. The angel in hell, the Phantom, not so much angel in my part (there's one person who argues differently everytime I say that),me.
If you've seen this what was your favorite character and why?

I like the Phantom, because....I'm not really sure. He's one of those complex characters who you want to hate because they're supposed to be the "bad guy", but you just can't. And if you think the movie is good, try to see the actual theatre production. I've never actually seen it, but my dad brought back the sound track for it when he did, and I basically live on it. Music is waaaaaaaay better than in the movie.

I think the movie is really good and the book is even better but as far as the movie goes I wouldnt be able to have a favorite character. However in the book the phantom would take the cake because he is a more developed character with more realistic emotions and a better reaction to most things

I have seen the play and own the soundtrack, both are great. I want to read the book but I can't find a copy around here, so it looks like I'm out of luck for right now.

Oh, yeah! It's a great show, and I've cosplayed as the Phantom a few times! Good stuff. Frankly, the movie blew a big one, and the stage production will always be far and above; superior. Long discussion to go down that road.

I love the Phantom, but not enough to ever remember his name...
He is the greatest because he is the underdog and we all connect with the underdog because well...we all are the underdog. The pain that he goes through is so vast that hearts just reach out to him. Than when he gets what he wants, even after only a glimpse. He gives it back.

I have seen the movie, who hasn't? I have seen in on theater in london...got crummy seats, was literally sitting on the armrest the full time with the little overpriced binoculars glued to my face.

I really love the masquerade scene. I think a lot of people do. the lines
"hide your face so the world will never find you" is very provoking.

I saw the production in grade five. Haven't seen the movie. So, I can't remember it very well enough to say a favourite character.

Man...I was so scared Christine would faint while she was singing her part in "Angel of Music." Whoa. O_O
