What is a haiku? Sitting at my desk confused I do not get it
-Christine Wang
Well, now. No need to fear. Haikus - if you don't already know what they are - are short and sweet poems that I believe were first written in Japan. They are fairly easy to compose and no great skill with words are needed, as a lot of haikus don't make sense. So here's how to write one:
Haikus are three line poems. Each line has a certain syllable length:
line one = five (5) syllables line two = seven (7) syllables line three = five (5) syllables
And that's it! It's that simple and now you are well on your way to being a poet. c: Yay!
Since right now at my high school, we are engaged in the Senior Poetry Unit, I decided to start a poem-related game in this forum, because...well, I was inspired. And I've always wanted to create a game thread. So:
The person above you will post a haiku. Take the last line of his or her haiku and write a new haiku based on that line. Try to make it make sense, but it's totally okay if it's silly. The silly ones are the most entertaining to read.
So...HAVE AT IT!

Think of something else or you will be forever stuck in the same thought.
