Neji sat in a secluded section of the forest just outside the main part of Konoha. In his lap sat two objects: a notebook and a photo album. No one knew but after he had lost to Naruto in the chuunin exams, he found the he enjoyed coming up and writing poetry. It seemed to be a good way to unwind and relieve himself of stress. Then shortly after the mess during the exam, Neji had been cleaning his room and came across a box with pictures of his younger days. That's when he had begun to make a photo album, but he had told no one, at least not yet.
(I don't really care how this rp goes, but I thought about it since Neji seemed to be sort of a philosepher (sp?). The poetry was just my idea of how to express it.)

Neji opened the notebook to the first page, reading his very first poem. It wasn't very good but he was getting better.
Your eyes remind me of the vast ocean
Calm and peaceful until the storm within begins to rage
Your hair rivals the sun with its brillant gold
Yet shows your nature of being untamed
Being the best was all I thought of
Til you showed me the true meaning of life
Made me realize I am no caged bird
That I can spread my wings and ascend to the heavens above
To learn where my true destiny lies
It is all because of you that I changed for the better
Although I may never say it to you in person
I am grateful, honored, thankful to be called your friend
And I will protect you as you did me til the very end.
I thank you with all my heart

He had written it while he was recovering in the hospital. It was all thanks to Naruto that he had changed, that he was now happy.
(My poem kinda sounds like Neji's in love with Naruto, but that is NOT what I was aiming for. They are just good friends in this rp unless I am convinced otherwise. Now please tell me, is it any good? sweatdrop )
