Common sense for Role Playing

Stay in character
Follow the Gaia Standard rules
Read Back Posts Before You Post Please!

Have Fun!

For fighting in the RP's:

Please follow the directions in the post about Endurance FIRST!

1.0 Before each random encounter, the number of attacking foes is rolled with 2 ten sided dice. The total number rolled= the total number of foes. Therefore there can be anywhere from 2-20 enemies in a random fight.

1.1 At any time a non random "quest" may be decided upon by the acting Game Master, where the number of foes can be chose based on the current situation. In this case the NPC's cannot out number the party by more than double.

2.0 The endurance of the NPC's is calculated by the average of the rolls of 3 D20. An average is calculated by adding the three rolls, then dividing by three. This number is rounded up if it is not a whole number.

2.1 The ammount of damage NPC's can deal will depend upon what type of NPC it is and will not be greater than damage dealt by a Squire unless it is a "Special Encounter."

3.0 Personal Endurance/Hit Point are calculated and recorded in the endurance thread under the role play section.. This is your endurance in every encounter until your gain rank in Real Dagorhir.

3.1 If a player is “killed” they are out of the entire rest of the “battle” and are brought back using Lucy’s cordial, which the highest-ranking surviving member automatically has.
Commenting on the “deaths” etc is expected in the role-plays. If you have been killed and revived, you are out of the role play for 10 collective posts in whichever section you are residing. The ten post counts from the point when the Game Master States End Encounter/Combat, which occurs when the last npc dies, or the party is entirely dead

3.2 If the entire party has been "killed" a non involved person much aproach the bodies and get them alive using the cordial of Lucy. If there is no one else alive in the guild, then the action of someone finding and returning them will be NPCed by the game master. IF the entire party is killed, 10 post still must go by, even if it is the party members' typists posting actions of NPC's

3.3 You may not NPC the action of a character or persona that is controlled by another typist without their expressed permission.

4.0 In the action of attacking, any number between and including 3 and 7 or the number 11 is a hit. anything lower than 3, or higher than 7 (excluding 11) is considered a Miss. A miss deals no damage

4.1 In the action of running, the player must use 1d20, and roll a 12 or higher.

5.0 The number of die that you roll on your attack depends on your rank in Narnia or it's equivalency in actual dagorhir. Rank in narnia is based on time spent in the sport, and the level of equipment or experience.

Rank or Equivalent---------------Number of Die Rolled

A Levy or Newer fighter
who has spent less than --------------------2 Die
3 Months in Dagorhir

A Soldier or Beginner with
some knowledge of the sport----------------3 Die
and decent Equipment that
they personally own.

*A Squire or Someone who has
been in for at least a year, shows
some leadership skills, and Is no ------------4 Die
Longer a "Newbie" but is not yet
a "Vet"

A Knight Errant or advanced
fighter with considerable experience
and skill. This is to say that they own
their own equipment, posses a good---------- 5 Die
deal of knowledge of dagorhir law
And show Strong Leadership.

A Knight in Narnia or in your respective
Unit. This is not a self proclaimed knight
title. You must exhibit knightly virtues both---- 6 Die
on and off the real battler field of Dagorhir

*Note if you are leader of any unit as the highest ranking member or highest titled memember (commander, king, queen, leader, first sword etc) then you are automatically AT LEAST a squire equivalent, possibly more depending upon circumstances, but never less.

5.2 Damage calculator. When rolling, different die have differnt damage dealt. The fewer the sides, the less damage is dealt.
Die type------Damage Dealt

D4 ---------------1
D6 ---------------2
D8--------------- 3
D10 ------------- 5
D20- ------------- Instant Kill

5.3 Die rolling to attack. In each round you will get one chance to attack. You will be required to react to any attacks made on you, but will not be able to counter attack unless it is your turn. In the role play, combat is happening simultaneously, but for the sake of the game we will act it out in a turn order. To attack you roll the proper number of die based on your rank.
Like previously stated, the number rolled per each die (not total) will declare if it is hit or miss. The die which you decide to roll will depend on rank.

Rank or Equivalent ----------Die types allowed to be rolled

A Levy or Newer fighter
who has spent less than -------------------D4
3 Months in Dagorhir

A Soldier or Beginner with
some knowledge of the sport---------------D4,D6
and decent Equipment that
they personally own.

A Squire or Someone who has
been in for at least a year, shows
some leadership skills, and Is no-------------D4, D6, D8
Longer a "Newbie" but is not yet
a "Vet"

A Knight Errant or advanced
fighter with considerable experience
and skill. This is to say that they own
their own equipment, posses a good----------D4, D6, D8, D10
deal of knowledge of dagorhir law
And show Strong Leadership.

A Knight in Narnia or in your respective
Unit. This is not a self proclaimed knight
title. You must exhibit knightly virtues both-----D4, D6, D8, D10, D20
on and off the real battler field of Dagorhir

On your attacking turn, you decide which die you want to attack, and in what way you wish to attack.

6.0 The actual encounter. An encounter is declared by a GM while in random RP, on a journey, in the Tavern...etc. This is at the discretion of the Game Masters when it seems to fit into the roleplay and DOES NOT distrupt the current game.

6.1 With more than one player in combat, to start all members roll a 20 sided die. This will be the attack order.

6.2 Every Player gets 1 attack per round, and every NPC gets one attack per round. Each round ends after every NPC and Player has made on attack

6.3 Battle order.

The battle begins by the Attacker (either player or npc) aproaching their target. consisting of one post per person which states a description of what they are carrying visibly, how they are dressed, how they are moving, and their relative position to the enemy. In this post by each player, the players will roll their 1d20 to decide order

Next, the GM posts 3 posts, the first to decide the number of enemies, the second to decide enemy health, and the third will be a summary where the GM will describe the enemies as a whole the same way the players have been described, restate the number, health, and will tell what the enemies "hit for" by telling their dice type and number. The GM may then add 10 HP and 1 die roll to one of the NPC's to make it the "leader" of the npc group.

Next the highest number NPC(or npc leader) or the highest rolled player makes their first attack.
In this post they start by stating their health, then
They Role play out their attack action, roll the respective die, and the post their attack

Whichever person or npc that was attacked then reacts. PLAYERS must start every combat post (attack or reaction) by stating 3 things.
1) Wether the attackers attack hit or miss if there is one, in RED color
2)Their HP in RED color
3) and then follow up by their reaction and/or attack.
If someone is attacking you and it is your turn to attack, you may react and attack all in one post, but still must declare damage.
Next, the next player or NPC attack. It will rotate. A player attack, Damage declared, an NPC attacks,Damage declared, a Player attacks, Damage declared, an NPC attacks and so on. After all PLAYERS have attacked or all NPC's have attacked, the remaining fighters that have not attacked all attack based on their role or NPC number(bandit 4, then bandit 5, then bandit 6)

7.0 Position. Pay attention to position. For instance a goblin with a sword would not be able to attack the archer who positioned them self in the back, nor would the swordman soldier be able to attack a goblin archer without making it through the enemy line. An allied archer could however attack an enemy archer. IF YOU ARE FORWARDING ON AN ARCHER OUT OF RANGE, YOU MUST TAKE ONE TURN WITHOUT AN ATTACK TO DO SO!
EXAMPLE: one on one with an NPC archer

round one you spot the archer standing off in the distance, his bow raised to fire. You make your way to him at a full sprint.

The archer attacks you

You declare damage, react

End round

Round 2, You continue to forward if you still live. Now you are able to attack because you are in range.

Use your common sense about placement. think about a battlefield..Basic physics apply...you cant fly over the enemy line..you must fight through it, or shoot past it.

8.0 NPCs NPC are controlled by the GM. Players cannot control NPC attackers. NPC health of all NPC's by their name (ei oger 1, bandit 2) will be declared when the GM posts end round. Players may choose which npc they wish to attack based on position. NPC's will attack the Player closest or that is doing the most damage. ENEMY NPC ACTIONS ARE IN VIOLET(pinkish)

8.1 If the Role Playing situation allows it possible, and the party is being decimated, ALLIED NPC's may be brought in and will work their way into the situation, and will attack all at once after the current battle order, before round ends. ALLIED NPC ACTIONS.
FOR EXAMPLE. When crossing Archenland 5 PLAYERS are attacked by (calculated from the roll) 18 NPC raiders that would dessimate them. Archenland guardsmen can be NPCed By the GM.

8.2 Dead NPC's may not be resurected.

8.3 On Journeys/trips friendly non comb NPC's are also controlled by a GM

9.0 Game Master. The duty of game master will eventually be shared by all the Vice Captains and Kalis once all of them are aware of procedure. All of them will be playing fairly, not playing favorites, and will not be letting personal feelings get in the way. The Game Masters are there to declare additional details, control NPC's and to ensure a fun time for all. If you have any issues, contact Kalis, Mirelle, or Adrius with them.
