On several sights as well as three other guilds, I am considered the Air Gear Guru. Yes, the title is somewhat self proclaimed, but for good reason. Outside exact chapters, there are very few things I don't take into detail about the manga. I mean, I really don't have a choice, in my ring of friends, you either own knowledge of a manga or your just someone's apprentice.

I digress.

Air Gear questoins and issues are again my speciality, and I'm very willing to enlighten, smite.... okay I can't smite, the rules don't allow it.. but still I can enlighten you about things retaining to the manga.

Currently, their seems to be a lot of talk and some confusion about about kings the regalia, the roads, and their abilities floating about the guild

Let's set some things straight.

First off, kudos to bluen, you understand well about Roads. They are indeed the styles of the riders, and indeed, the abilities one hand go hand in hand, only because that is the nature of the road.

The title Sky King is just that, a title of supremacy over all other riders. No where does it say that the Sky King has his/her own specific road which also explains why it is often speculated in the manga that the Wind king is the closet to obtaining the title "Sky King."

Personally, I've noticed a trend in the manga and how it gives us hints about certain elements in the diffrent roads. First off, let's look at the eight roads.

The Wing Road-
Did you ever notice that Sora, who was thought to be unbeatable, even to Kilik, lost when his pure intentions became tainted, and also that when Ikki lost interest in the actual battle and became more interested in the sky, then and only then did the Wing road reveal itself to him? Also, did you also catch the hints at the very start of the manga that they often said, the Wind God had chosen Ikki? The style both Ikki and Sora had been following was one that would lead them to the sky. Notice, ever since Ikki began focusing on making it to the top of the Trophium, he has not ridden the wing road? I mean, after Sora had cut his link with him, he wasn't interested in reaching the sky. He was more worried about crushing Genesis and Sleeping Forest.

End point:
The Road(again my opinion) is ridden only by those who wish to ride into the sky, freely and without care. Those who's only hops is to ride the wind.

The Sonia Road-
The Sonia road always happens to be set upon those who seem to swing and pivot in emotion towards things just as a rose sways in the wind(or like how they use their hips to ride). Another way of thinking about it, is like how a Rose usually grows on a thorn bush; though the rose is quite elegant and beautiful, the thorns often end up hurting those around it, sometimes even the animals that could help spread the seeds for new plants. Ringo is a self torturing as is Rika, and they are clearly aware of that, yet they ignore it. Rika fell in love with Sora, but her presence became more troublesome than helpful, helping in the events that lead to Kilik's betrayal.

End Point(if you haven't realized by now, this is the physical aspect of the road):
Riders of the Sonia road are usually noted on the fact that their hips are their pivoting point, and that they are used to ride instead of the ankles and feet.

Flame Road-
I like the flame road, but it is not me. No, the flame road is one for those who have big hearts, but still smart, (Aeon that little perv...). Kazu has a strong will, and even was able to use Spitfire's trick to save Om. I can't really put my feeling on this road into simple words. But, something Kazu, Spitfire, and even Aeon where really big on, was the concept that life is not to be wasted. I hope you guys can see that. Because the more I talk, the hard it is to put this in words.
Passion!(Thank you AG Chp 126). Those who ride the Flame road ride with a burning and Passion and desire for something. For Spitfire, it was the new generation of Storm Riders. For Kazu, to keep up with his rival and friend Ikki. For Aeon... well we all know his passion.
Well really quick here...

End Point: The Flame Road is like fire itself, graceful, unpredictable, almost impossible to imitate. Simply, the road is characterized by the passion and and effort put in to make it graceful. A fire is unpredictable and beautiful, but every minute grows twice as big, even faster in the wind.

Over Road- I've yet to really see Youshitune's ability, but it's obvious it has to do with using one opponents own wind against them. But until I see him in action, I can only guess by the fact he uses what Kazu calls, "The original Stance" I'd say, the road is ridden by those who wish to feel the wind fly past them, to race against, it, to ride faster than it. Hence the starting position Yoshitune has without the Regalia.

End Poaint- This Road is for the quick minded, and and the fast passed Rider(even though Yoshitune happens to show neither openly, that damn handsome devil....no homo!)

Bloody Road-
I love this Road. It's so easy to explain. This road is one ridden by those who seek their desires and who are not afraid to seek it, and also those who are willing to fight to protect(hence the Regalia Bloody Armour). Akito lost his desire to ride after some incident which has yet been explained, which resulted in him not being ability to ride the road. Agito came around and promised to protect Akito, which is proven to be his only real desire. Then there was the fact that Akira desired to protect Ren and all the lower ranking Storm Riders, which allowed him to also ride the bloody Road.

Endpoint:
If your opponent is not left scared, its can't even be thought as related to the Bloody Road. It is the road of "bullies." And flesh it the material of your road.

Ring Road-
The Ring road is another one of those easy to put hard to explain type roads, just like this first sentence(confusing I know). The Ring road has dual meanings. When you give a girl a ring, you make a pledge of love. It is pretty much the same thing here. That is why tuners usually make a pledge to one rider only. But, the "Ring" also stand for sound. All Tuners use sound in some way to tune.

Endpoint:
Sound is the key to this road. One needs a good ear to follow the ring road.

Gaia/Jade Road-

This is very much the easiest one to explain. This... These roads are ridden by people ridden to put others in their place. To leave them stunned, to overwhelm them. Kilik? Yea, he kicked a**. Nike? Kicked a lot of a**. Gorgon, the girl who's death probably made Aeon go straight? She is an overwhelming force, with the help of her tattoos.

Endpoint: The Road is a very aggressive one which completely stops the opponent int their tracks.

Rising Road- Completely baffled by this one. All I know is Nue is awsome and he hopes for a better world.

EndPoint:
Like hell if I know. I havn't seen him in action

Another proof that Roads aren't just the way a person rides, is chapter 131 page 12. Well, it's further back, but I'm not searching for that chptr again. Ringo wants to ride the same road as Ikki, meaning, she hopes that they can stay friend and be sided by side. Proof that a persons emotions also have to do with the Road they ride.

So how is Ikki a King? Simple. At one point, he had his own Regalia. The Core was Bahgram, but the Regalia was tuned to his road. When Bahgram is worn by Sora, they take a diffrent form.

Now, onto Om and Gabashi. They were part of the original group of Gravity Children, so they have their own Roads.

Very nice man, you did good in explaining the roads to everyone. Yet you forgot the regalia. I'm sure you was planning on explaining that to them as well but this is sort of where i'm skilled at.

Regelias don't make kings, although yes most of the kings have one it is mostly there as not only a weapon but a sign of sorts. Yes regalias have incredibale powers and can turn an average rider into a king over time but that isn't always the case.

The small text that appear in just about every 4 pages is actually somewhat of an explanation. I take the time to actually read those things because it breaks down ATs and Regalia into a sort of science. Which if you payed attention there are 8 regalia that are seen as the most powerful. If you read the manga you'll notice that everyone talks about building or fixing a regalia whenever a king is mentioned. Yes they have regalia's but they don't need them to do over half the stuff they usually do. Kazu for example pulled of Spitfire's trick with normal ATs, Same for goes for Agito. He is able to make fangs without the regalia and therefore gave them to Akira so he could become the next King.

All the regalia really do is usually one of two things. Add an effect to what the rider does like Om and her bubbles. Or give the rider some extra power when they pull of certain tricks. Because regalia puts extra on the rider to use them.

Alsoi nearly forgot that for virtually all regalia their effects will usually have to deal with the wind in some way. Although there are some exceptions to this rule such as the Gaia/Jade regalia.

If you need a design for a regalia or ATs I try to make myself an expert so don't hesitate to ask.
