So I was thinking that there wasn't something like this on the guild and I decided to include it here in the tavern. This thread is for all of us cuz we all have an avatar. After all, the avatar's are a big part of what makes Gaia so cool (or at least for me it is). Does anyone agree? It doesn't matter if you agree or not, you can still post about it. One thing though, take the following things into consideration before posting, why doncha? - Whether you like to keep your avatar as it is until you find an item that you can add to it or, whether you like to change it often, it doesn't matter either. - The point is that you all make this thread our own when discussing the kind of things you like about your avatar or someone else's. - It's also a place where you can comment on certain items and how you like them and whether or not you are questing for them. On this thread, you can also tell people if you need any help with yer quest or not. Of course, the chance you'll actually get help depends on the other members so try not to overwhelm us with requests (just post once and hope for the best). wink - This could also be a place for pointing out flaws in current items as well as items you would like to see released on Gaia. Maybe after a while we could even make a suggestion to Gaia itself. - And finally, this thread can also be for either updates on yer avatar or even random comments on someone else's. So, feel free to start posting and enjoy seeing other member's avatars. All of these things can make the thread last for a very long time, or so I figured. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for me, my avatar is supposed to be "Final Fantasy" related. Actually, it's more FFTA (as in: Tactics Advance) themed than anything else. Ever since I saw the rock bird on the Wild things, I wanted to create some kind of avatar that could use it and, since the big bird resembles a Chocobo, well... you get the picture, right?
This is the avatar as it used to be at some point:
My avatar is actually an Elven Dragon (I'm working on a way of explaining his origins even now) and he is also a judge. He also wears the "HypnoCrown" to increase his manipulation rate over the chocobo & other creatures (the crown is represented by 3 items: the January birthstone crown, the alien probe for its eye & the sun staff to indicate its growth). Otherwise, how's he supposed to ride a wild chocobo, right? After some time though, I figure the "wild" chocobo will come to accept him as a friend and rider. Hence the wild armor it has on.
The horns are meant to represent my zodiac sign, Capricorn.
As a judge, he is only equipped with a dark cape and some underpants (I had an ice lance but I removed it cuz it made everything look weird with a greenish aura). I still can't figure out exactly what kind of clothing I should make him wear though. But right now it isn't really necessary cuz the big bird won't let me equip any underpants, he-he. rolleyes
Edit: I removed the "angelic mood bubble" a while back cuz I figured a judge doesn't need to have anything equipped, at least not really because an honest judge cannot be attacked.
Anybody who has played FFTA has to know what I'm talking about. 3nodding

Let's see if I can get this thread going...
I would really love to see some dragon and demonic wings to equip. We don't even have a pair of angel wings: people have to settle for the back mount of the Angelbow... I really want to use a pair of dragon wings instead of the ones that come in the Gift of the Goddess.
I don't like how the Blue Dragon Tail lays in front of the wings... It just looks ridiculous! ><
My avatar is based off of my own design and came into being while RPing on a dragon related site with some friends I met on there. I had to settle for what Gaia could give and changed that design up a bit, but I am still happy with my avi just the same. I'm sort of an Egyptologist since my interest in ancient Egypt began since I was very young and is still alive and well today. Combine that with my love of dragons and you have what I came to be known as by my friends: the Egyptian Dragon. My avi is not complete and will not have the sword and the snake once it is just that. I only need one more item and am working on getting it, but it will take a while... Perhaps a picture of what I am supposed to look like will come in the future...
HypnoCrown, I truly enjoy your avi and like what you are basing it off from. It's interesting and different from other avis here on Gaia.

Just for the record, I gotta say that yer avatar looks awesome with the wings from the gift of the Goddess. I know there aren't any decent angel or dragon wings but still, these wings fit yer avatar perfectly as they look Egyptian and all. It's really cool the way they make it look. I'm not trying to complement you, this is just what I think. 3nodding And yer right! The dragon tail looks ridiculous like that. I guess it's one of the many item glitches we can expect from having so many items on Gaia. Gee, what a nice back info on yer avatar. I can't wait to see a picture of what it's supposed to look like. 3nodding Wow! Thanx Egyptian Dragon. I suppose both my username & my avatar are not very common. mrgreen I hope others come and post whatever they like about either their avatars, or ours. 3nodding Oh and by the way, are you actually getting tickets together for that item or are you also accumulating gold for it? I find tickets to be a huge pain. sad My little brother is trying to get a royal cloak and doesn't even have a third of the number he needs. I might just get some Gaia cash and try to buy him one for his birthday...
Anyway, my avi is currently wearing a vampire skin because I like vamps, and the monk's robe is because of my real-life vocation (not to be a monk tho... long story. *grins*) She has blond hair because I am actually a blondish-redhead, and none of the red colours on Gaia hairstyles look right enough. The holly hair ornament is because it's still winter--and the carolling scroll is there because it looks historical, like I'm some Renaissance orator or something. smile

It's not that I don't think the Gift of the Goddess doesn't fit my avi, it's just that I would look more like a dragon with some nice, blue dragon wings. Thanks though. 3nodding

Nope, not very common at all!
I am actually collecting tickets... sweatdrop It seems more of a reality than saving up for something worth around 250,000 Gold in the marketplace. It also allows me to save up for things only obtainable by gold. I almost had 300,000 tickets from the slots a few weeks ago, but I was one halo short... ><

I read somewhere that the halo's in the slot machines sometimes don't give you the awesome amount of ticket Gaia says they will give... *arg!* Okay - so - at the moment my avi is going for a fantasy anthropologist look. Has anyone ever read Voyage of the Basset? (James C. It used to be every time I signed on - I'd do something different. Lately I've been kinda keeping to a select few styles. One being kinda all black - another kinda all white - and this sort of brownish theme I've got going. I'm a Gemini and I use that as an excuses for my ever changing ways. AND ~ I wanted a rapier, *REALLY BAD* ~ the Gaia item - I already have real ones. At Prize and Joy they were 8200 tickets.... I actually put in my signature that I was questing tickets and tokens. I got a lot from random people - I always thanked them profusely and little by little ~ I got my rapier!!! Now I'm trying for the Ace of Spades - for my Alice in Wonderland avi ~

I wish they would offer Tudor-era clothing instead of just ancient cultures or Baroque-era stuff. I would LOVE an avi dressed up as Anne Boleyn or someone... she is my favourite late Medieval/early Renaissance queen. smile

Jasta: I know! Tickets are such a pain in the arse! That's why I usually don't play the games on Gaia. Not only does it take way too many tickets to buy anything, it's not exactly easy stuff to get, like with coins. I would probably like them better if there was at least one game I could enjoy that gave you tickets but there isn't any! I hate the word bump & the car thing is just weird. Not to mention that I find puzzles a bit boring and fishing is just too confusing for me. Oh and don't get me started on the slots and the cards. I am way to unlucky to win at those things... gonk Hmm, maybe they're gonna include something like that someday. If you don't organize a petition, how will they know? Oh and btw, I like yer avi. But you know, you should edit that post of yers so we can always look at the avi you had when you made it. Otherwise the newbies (and folks with not so good memories) can always check how it looked. Thanx Fauxlorne! I looked at how the other cities looked and they didn't look that good. I think "nature" looks better on it. mrgreen

I'm definitely a fan of changing my avi more often than I should. Usually when I get a new item... which has been happening a little to frequently as of late. Usually I go with matching that one item.
Currently... I going to go off flying with my little duckies!
Though that is about to change soon seeing as I just got the Gift of the Gods I was after... now to get one more so I can be Eve .

Jasta! of course it has to do with avatars... Mostly because that's what my avatar reminded me of...  ((The guy I bought my mattress from had pictures of Peter Gabriel by the register. I SWEAR, he gave me a discount because "In Your Eyes" is the ring tone when my boyfriend calls me.))
