I have this amazing book called Generation T - it has directions for how to make shirts, tanks, skirts and other random stuff, all from old t-shirts. It makes me so happy, the projects mostly easy and are really orginal ways of recycling. Here's a link to the books' Amazon page; http://www.amazon.com/Generation-T-Ways-Transform-T-Shirt/dp/0761137858/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1200955475&sr=1-1

I bought that book too but haven't made anything from it yet. I bought it with plans to make something for my daughter but she hasn't decided on a project yet.

Ooh I heard about that book! You recommend it? I have a giant stack of t-shirts on my floor that seriously need revamping... sounds like that book would be perfect ^^

I would go thumb through it at a bookstore before buying it just to make sure the projects are ones you like and can wear. I almost left the book on the shelf because most of the projects in it aren't something my daughter could have worn to her old school because the dress code was so restrictive. New school now but very few t-shirts to work with anymore, it seems like quite a few got lost in the move.

Yeah, some of the patterns are things that I would never wear. But still, I love a lot of them and the book gave me a lot of good ideas. I just made the grass-skirt type things, and made my own pattern and experimented on an old tie-dye shirt. Yay!

Generation T is a nice book for getting ideas, but a lot of the projects have waaay too much cut out of them for me. They explain pretty well how to do everything though. But like Forestgreen said, thumb through it first before you buy it. They have a website too, but I think it was last updated a looong time ago.
