Hidden in the alleys of Crosshaven is the nightclub Shadow Lounge. A sleazy, disgusting, drug ridden, gang infested home away from home for Crosshaven's unwanted. You go down the rusty stairs and enter through the doors and are met with the scent of thick smoke and old booze.
The place looks as though it has been cracked in half and poorly pasted back together. When the first wave of destruction hit Crosshaven, Shadow Lounge was destroyed beyond repair, and yet, over night the club was pulled back together somehow.
Though the club basically looks the same, with the exception of its jagged scars, the atmosphere has taken a change. During war time, no longer did people get lost out on the dance floor, instead they came simply to hide away and forget everything with the help of hard liquor and a few illegal substances.
The owner, Cain, would rarely leave the bar, except on a few occasions in which he would disappear for days or weeks, and no one could get him to explain where he had been. The scent of depression, anger, and greed is thick here, and Cain has no intention of changing that.

Seraph walked into the Shadow Lounge, a wave of scent assaulting her senses, making her reel slightly. Holding onto the door frame, she glanced around her using the borrowed light that spilled in from the doorway. She glanced at the bar where, she assumed, the owner stood. "I'm here because, I heard you were hiring." She said to him, a polite smile playing across her lips.

She's sitting in her VIP booth, with a thug flanking her on either side, watching the coverage of the event on the lounge's TV screen, though the place is too loud to hear it.
She takes a drag off of her cigarette, and eyeballs the newcomer with only a glance.
"They've already lost the city. That's politicians for you, always full of lies. This whole parade of theirs is a lie. They're pretending they are still in charge. I find that funny. Down right laughable."
The thug closest to her ******** Morigan Black, dizzy b***h is just the dead Gov's high class ho." she says, just loud enough for half the club to hear.

He has been watching the television as well, in fact most of the club has been. "That may be true, but Damn she is one fine piece of a** though, you have to give her that..." One of the usual customers, Bert, hears him and laughs loudly, and the two men clink their glasses together in agreement.
He stands up straight from leaning over the bar with a proud look on his face, his cigar hanging loosely from his lips. He looks the young girl up and down for a long....long time. When he is finally done, he makes his way up to her face, "You sure you didn't misinterpret my ad? It's the scum of the earth around here, isn't that right Bert?" Bert chuckles and finishes his cheap pint of beer. "That means I'm right."

She laughs. "What, you want her?" Cain may not know whether or not Doris is actually serious. Doris could arrange something so wretched, but she might just be joking around. She likes to play games like this with him.
She grins a little at the interplay between the boss and the prospective employer. She thinks it's amusing. Cute, even.
"Hey Cain, you could use some nicer broads around here. You know, girls that know their place, that don't give lip. Don't chase her off just yet."

Cain looks over at Doris once again, and pulls the cigar out of his mouth blowing a pillar of smoke into Bert's face who coughs and weezes a bit, it's obvious that the man has hacked something up.
"You know Doris, you're right, it would be nice to have a girl around here with some looks, preferably one who's a** wasn't the same size as her big ol' head."
He puts the cigar back into his mouth and looks over at the new girl, "In fact, your hired. Welcome, now go clean some dishes or whatever you employees do."

Seraph frowned at the lack of authority her new employer had. He was obviously not an alpha but... what can you do? She nodded at him. "Well what would you have me do? I don't even know what I was hired for. Your ad read 'general' employment. What does that even mean? Do you have any specific dress code or..." she glanced the man up and down real fast then chuckled. "Well, I can see you don't. Any preference to what you want me to wear?"

"Fine fine, you know anything about bartending or waitressing? It's simple if you don't, we only serve two things here, beer and tequila, sometimes whiskey. That table over there, " he points to Doris and her men, "You give them what they want, when they want it, and as for the rest of these guys, watch yourself, they get a little handsy." He takes a drag from his cigar, "I'll pay you every Friday. Also if any of the customers start fighting, which they will, we kick them out, so I hope you can take a punch or two, because it's going to happen."
He pours a beer and places it in front of Bert, "Anything else you need to know?"

Some of Doris's men start to make cat calls at the lady. Doris doesn't seem to care one way or the other, but she's interested in watching how this little lady deals with it.
Her keen eyes are always on the watch for recruits.

"When you say a punch, how much of a punch? Are you saying like full grown man and a punch to the gut, or a tail chaser that doesn't know when to stop?" She asked calculating in her head briefly. "Because I can probably handle both, but I may hurt the tail chaser. Handsy is no problem, as long as they don't get strange little notitions that I can be bought with a fiver, they will be sadly mistaken." She glanced over at the people he pointed out to her. "What's so special about them?" She asked ignoring their noises.

Doris smiles just a little. She's not easy to impress, no not at all, but so far she likes what she sees.
"I think your employee fits in better than you might think, Cain," one of her thugs shouts out, and the rest chuckle. She just sits there, dragging on a cigarette and watching the show.
What a perfectly terrible night it has been, except for the company.
By the way, it wouldn't take long for anyone new to figure out after watching them a second that this group is a bunch of gangstas. And the lady in the middle is in charge.

Seraph looked at the people at the table again. She studied them quickly. "What's so special about you people?" she asked, redirecting her question to the people in... well, question. "I mean, you don't look much different than normal people."

She just smiles. "Power, baby. Ain't nothing else different, nothing else in the world. It's just power."
She leans forward, lowering her sunglasses so she can more thoroughly appraise this woman.
"You have some of your own, don't you baby? A different kind... but you know what I mean, don't you? Power makes the world go around."
Her face gets serious.
"We are the people with the real power in this city, ever since the Governor died. This b***h they are fixing to prop up, she's nothing but the old gov's booty partner. She's a joke. We're the ones that collect taxes, protect people, and you know, keep the order."
She grins, pushing her shades back up. A silencer pistol is visible under her coat.

"Lord, do I ever, lady. But can you taste my flavor?" Seraph asked carefully, glancing at the pistol, then back at the woman's face. "So you're like this town's, how should I put it, 'force?' I know how that system works. If I scratch your back, you'll scratch mine, right? Booty partners never should run the business, they're not very political people. Don't know how to govern the masses."
