On an eastern cliff face near the mines there is a mysterious ledge jutting oddly out of the rock, almost masking the entrance to a large cave when viewed from the ground. Rumour has it the cave is the den of an enormous dragon, but only the Dwarves or those who have been up there really know for sure. From the ground, roughly carved and hard to see is a very thin trail that winds up to the ledge with only enough space for not even two people to walk next to each other. It’s easily a half a day journey with no room for error and the very real risk of falling.

The ledge itself contains a strange amount of glass, including some glass rocks and, if you kick away some of the sand and dirt, it makes up part of the surface of the ledge. The cavern mouth is filled and decorated with lapis lazuli, sodalities, kyanite and sapphires. The cave is dry with stalactites and stalagmites along the sides and goes on for some distance until even the mornings direct sunlight can penetrate no further. Mid way through and mostly hidden is a small dwarf sized passageway leading to the deepsteel mines.

In the pitch blackness the ceiling rises and the sides expand to create an enormous chamber, and in the middle, a large pile of gold, silver, and every gem on Reeth glinting dimly in whatever light manages to penetrate. On the right is another, larger passage, difficult to see (if not impossible in the dark) as it leads underground. It eventually ends in a three way split leading to a deserted area in each of the individual mines.

Despite the availability of the decorative blue stones and the promise of fortunes within, this is one place you don't want to thieve from. Just hope the dragons not in and not as big as some say.
