I am currently in an online relationship, kind of. We are open, but that doesn't really make a difference.
When I first head about online dating, I thought it was stupid, but now that I am in an online relationship, well, it's not so stupid anymore. Elrik is his name, and he is wondeful. We have a lot in common and we love to talk to each other as much as we can. I am trying to plan a road trip this summer to see him.
What do you guys think about online dating?

If you're both mature enough to see through who's for real and who's full of s**t, I don't see a problem with meeting someone over the internet. I've made a few good friends that way.

I think it's all a matter of maturity, as was earlier stated. I'm in love with someone over sees who I plan to visit frequently, and plans of moving and college ideas have been a major topic.

i don't see a problem with it, just be sure to be careful. some people play mind games making you think they're someone they really aren't. if your mature enough and trust them enough then hey, have fun! if your still underage, make sure a parent or someone goes with you to meet him. he could be the sweetest guy on the internet, but when you meet them for real, some people change.
but, hey! i say go for it, if you really like the guy.

I'm really not convinced by online dating to be honest. Nothing against those who do it, I just don't see many of these relationships come to anything, and I see too many people get hurt by it. If I met someone on the net and then in real life than sure, but I don't know about someone I'd never met before...
I suppose if you're careful that's the main thing. Good luck with it anyway! 3nodding

Online dating to me is useless, stupid, and a waste of time. Like said in previous posts, people can easily decieve you. For the simple fact, they don't have to look into your eyes or at your face for that matter.
I have seen one of my friends try killing herself over one of these online dating things. One more thing, just because I can add it. I'm way too parnoid to meet somebody in real life when I only talk to them on the computer. I'd bring a weapon but that's probably just me.
My only advise is have fun.

Like I said, if it makes you happy, you should go for it.
Just make sure it really makes you happy, and you're not hanging on to it just because you're afraid of what will happen if you break it off.
