In Ancient Egypt the name Nisu meant King. Was this statue commissioned of a Pharaoh's pet? Was there some deeper meaning to this bit of carved jade. Is there a magic deep in the stone body. Or was it just fancy in the mind of the first person to behold it?
Maybe it was a mother's hope that a royal name would lead her child to a royal bearing, disposition and grace. Or maybe fate was laughing.
Was this an entombed king? Or just another Sphinx. Only time would tell. Only destiny would reveal what lies under the dust of the ages.
