Because there isn't a single competent person working in my church's office. stare

A rant will follow.

The story:
Picking things out for the wedding like the colors and such has been left primarily up to me, since Dennis says that the actual ceremony is more for me. That and men really don't usually have much to do with the wedding planning. The only thing I could get him to pick was the date: June 14 (because our first date was on a fourteenth and June was the best month for it because we're moving in early July). So I called the church to reserve the date. We hadn't decided on a time and I was told that I needed a definite time to reserve the church for and to call back when I had one.
We've finally settled on a time and I called back. The secretary was sick, so I talked to a fill-in who told me that the day had already been booked. I. Was. Furious. I decided to try calling back the next day to talk to the real secretary. She told me that the day had been booked for almost a year!
So now I'm getting married on May 17th instead. I wouldn't have been mad if they'd just told me when I first called that the date was taken, it's just that we were so sure we were getting married then and NOW we're having to tell everyone the new date. Am I just crazy or can y'all see how that's aggravating too? D<

i hate it when people screw up dates and things that you seem to prepare for....

one time, i had gotten up early and ready to go to a carwash fundraiser for one of the clubs i was in. it was at roy rogers, and when i got there, i found nobody from my school there. these other kids who i didn't recognize were there though, so i went home and my friend called me to tell me that roy rogers screwed up dates with some other school's fundraiser because they totally forgot about us.....i was soooo pissed because i was looking forward to a fun day, washing cars with my friends..............

but i guess that's nothing compared to a wedding... razz i hate when people screw with you..

...Like how I was supposed to be keeping a schedule for the Art Club's meetings. XD We were going to be battiquing, but it was frikkin' cancelled. And our fundraiser isn't going so well. crying
